There is a lot of magic in the calculation you pasted. But you can't really do much about it. 1. Let me start with the good, You actually seem to have a pretty good deal in hand overall. You could have saved a few pennies on top, but do you want to spend 40 hours and save another 5 bucks a month? Not worth it in my opinion. 2. Dealers lie when they tell you their lease calculators are audited and it all has to be above the table. Nope. Have you seen the final contract you sign? It has none of this financial wizardry on the contract. Just some peripheral numbers. Those lease contracts insulate the dealers and the banks well. 3. I think MBFS charges between 495 and 1095 lease termination/acquisition fees based on a number of factors, including what discounts you are bringing to the table, your credit score, etc. I don't know about other banks 4. As Kyfdx pointed out, the biggest chunk of excess cash you paid is in the marked up MF, but they had to make up money because for a new series (A), your net cap cost is pretty low and thereby, your overall deal is pretty good. I know cars are sitting on lots a lot longer last 2-3 months, but I thought A supply side was still pretty tight. 5. I think you paid $32.4 more per month because of the higher money factor, but if your car had not been so heavily discounted, you may have paid more per month in just depreciation costs. 6. Be happy with this deal and don't look back. Enjoy the new Siri like system and the fancy tech in the car.
@drozj14 There is no "cooling off" period. You can't bring it back. But, let's look at the deal. FWD model? 36/10 lease? You aren't paying that full amount of $1470 for the maintenance plan. It appears they were able to add $1020 of that amount to the MSRP, raising the residual by $612. That makes your net cost $858. I'd guess the cost of the plan was marked up, but being able to residualize some of it probably makes it worth having. (at $858) Only $558.75 for tax in Texas? Did they have Texas tax credits? It appears so, with that amount. That is a $2000 savings. $5500 off MSRP, plus another $3000 in certificates is a big discount. Offset somewhat by the acquisition fee being marked up by $300. I agree with your assessment of the money factor. It appears that it is marked up to .00210. That adds just over $45/mo., or about $1625 total. Overall, in TX, it looks like a pretty good deal (considering the normal TX tax amount). The dealer added some markups to take advantage of the extra incentive certificates they used on your deal, but they also discounted the vehicle below their cost, I think. Then, the tax credits were icing on the cake.
Thanks. Yeah I knew things could be better but they could definitely be worse. Really enjoying the user interface and it’s definitely made my other vehicle seem prehistoric.

I got this quote yesterday: A220 FWD, 10K/36 mos with $1K down. They came down a bit on the MSRP, but the gentleman “didn’t know" the money factor and it looks like the residual was 50% on the car, not 60% as I’m seeing here. Doesn't feel like that great of a deal.
Also, the $1,163 on the left side is what I owe in remaining payments of my Smart lease. However, the nearby competing dealer MB of San Diego has a Smart dealership within it and may be able to help me on that last $1,163 by waiving it. (Also the Smart car I’m turning in only has 9,500 miles) I’m hoping that will give them more incentive to help me. I want to see if they can beat Hoehn Mercedes MSRP and I’m hoping they give me a quote with a 60% residual value and provide me a money factor number that I can get the payment closer to $400/mo.
    How does this all sound?
    Thank you.

I had to delete your image as it included contact information (on the business card). Feel free to edit or redact the image, and repost.

    .00139 and 60% are correct for 36/10.

Dealer cannot alter the residual; it is fixed by the bank.

You won't be able to waive the remaining lease payments; you signed the contract and, unless the trade in value is much higher than the payoff, you'll owe that money. What can happen is that those payments are transferred into the new lease.

Frankly, I'd hold off on shopping until the current lease is up. One less variable you have to worry about on the new deal.

It looks like Mercedes-Benz/Smart Center of San Diego could forgive $600, as policy but I'd still be on the line for the $563 of my remaining payments (lease is up in November). You're right, my gut is telling me to wait - I've wanted a Mercedes for 15 years, I can wait a couple more months! It also might put me in line for some late summer/year end incentives hopefully to come for the A-Class. Thanks for your input!

Exactly. The A-class is still fairly new; in 6 months it will be another small premium sedan.

I'm coming from a smart fortwo lease as well, except mine ended in December, which is when the A220 was originally expected to be available. Hopefully picking one up next week!

Thank you. Do you have numbers for 36/12? Also, first time MB shopper coming from BMW. Any good reference for learning about MB mandatory fees and lease process? I've checked out different sites and information is inconsistent.

Trying to also find out how much security deposits decrease money factor and if there is a corporate fleet discount and how that works? Thanks in advance

    +2% for 36/12

$795 lease acquisition fee (subject to $300 dealer markup)
Of course, money factor can be marked up, as well.
    10 MSDs X .00007 ea = .00070 maximum MF discount.

    No info on fleet.

Are the RV and MF the same for 36/12k FWD in 30339? I test drove an executive car with less than 400 miles that they're offering $4,000 off on.
