is this a good deal? 2019 bmw x5. i'm in chicago zip is 60068

additional loyalty rebate 1250
12k miles/36 mo
residual is 56% base plus 2% bump
it looks like the money factor is .00165

payment is 768.67 and total drive off is 2,419.48.

when i asked for more of a discount the dealer said:

There is only 5.5% mark up in the car.

And the “Hidden” money, holdback, is 5%.

We need to make a small yet reasonable profit. We are the largest volume BMW dealer in IL and sell more X5s than anyone by a pretty wide margin. I am not aware of any dealer doing more than 9% off (unless it is a service loaner).

We priced it at $2500 UNDER invoice. That is quite a bit lower than any online website is offering. If another dealer is quoting you more I believe it is including the finance rebate which you do not get if you lease.

Do you live in Chicago? If so, you'll be paying about 17% total tax on your lease, between the state and the city.

Maybe one of those other dealers would be grateful for your business and give you a bigger discount. Dealers rarely negotiate against themselves.

Trust, but verify, what this dealer is telling you. The X5 is popular, and there are no lease incentives on it, so the discount from sticker is really the only way to improve this deal.

If not in the city of Chicago, you'll be responsible for state taxes only. IL taxes the sum of the payments, and you can either pay them up front or add them to the cap cost and make them a part of the monthly payment (our recommendation).

$2500 is 1st month, destination charge and approx $500 down
not sure the selling price but i can back into it. I come to about 10% off MSRP.
