Taurus V6 Limited with the highest miles of any at auction ... gonna have to hit that at $16k.

TSX 4-cyl Tech sedan ... hmmm... well, there was a black one that went through PA auction about a week ago with 43,086 reported to be in below average condition that got $16,100. That price, however, was not appropriate for the condition because most with those miles in average condition have been in the mid $16s. Anyway, $19,500 isn't bad if you figure, with minimal effort, it hits their lot at $17k. I'd probably shoot for another $500 off to be happy with the deal.

Thanks Q! Based on the pictures and carfax, it looks like this one never hit the auction (miles are higher and doesn't appear to be below average condition). All in all, exactly what I expected to hear.

All of the mods-save the intake- are invisible. The dealer would never know- and I'll uninstall the tune so I can sell the tuner separately.

The 2007-2009 were available in Sport and GT trim; mine is a GT.

oh, well, in that case, I have no real comps to share with you. The only GT with close to your miles sold over a year ago for $5400. The only one this year was 5/5 but it only had 81k miles. So, if I was on the other side of the table, I still think I'd be sticking to that $4500 number, at best.

Just to follow-up Q, I ended up getting $20,000 for the CC, but included in that was an over-allowance to help reduce the cap cost of the car further than they could show. So, really, they gave me $19,500 which was a few hundred over my payoff...

I wanted to give you an update on my 2012 Buick Regal base 54000.

We received $12500 trade in on a 2015 Buick Lacrosse. Real dollars because we negotiated a $3800 discount off the sticker (not counting rebates) prior to making the Regal available on trade. I told my salesman I would sell my car privately, however we weren't successful We have bought 4 vehicles from the same salesman/dealership in the last 4 years.....so it provided some leverage....plus all dealer serviced.

My dealership first offered 11500....but I had taken the car to CarMax and they bid 12500....so they said they would match.

I made a small effort to sell privately on craigslist and facebook.....but after dealing with "I am very interested" and then canceling the meeting a couple of times...and one "can I take over payments", we were done with that.

Thank you for your help and advice Qbrozen. Your numbers were very helpful in determining the true market value for the car.

It is funny. My Dad had the first year of the body style (2007) and my Mom has the last (2013). It still has good old hydraulic power steering. Too heavy and too expensive of a car for me to drive daily.

It was an Auto tranmission, lighter blue (cosmic blue I think (non-crazy color), in San Diego County, CA. Edmund's numbers were very low, everyone else's were higher. CarMax paid $8K and they turn around and sell it for $13K. I saw them selling one with 125K miles for that much money, and it was a 2006; so I knew they'd offer more than your or Edmunds' figures. I guess CA values reliability more than other States?

@stickguy, Paint on the doors doesn't match, keep looking. That gen has trans issues. My possible future son in law had one. Nissan bought out his lease over a year early, that should tell you something.

I finally came up with a plan I like, and now I might need to rethink it?

I have not seen it in person to tell about paint. Might just be all the shadows from when they took the pictures.

look at the right side pictures, it's pretty obvious in all of them.
I am going to add that one of my coworkers husband had one that suffered a transmission failure that stranded them.
The replacement didn't work out first time either. Check the discussions for that model here on Edmunds.
