I confirm the .00103 MF - the 36/10 residual is 59%. With your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $350.26. 9% tax in PA takes the payment to $381.78.

Ask the dealer what the net cap cost is; if different from the selling price, get them to explain why.

Thanks a lot. I'm getting a quote for 10/36 at $36k msrp, $34.4 selling, about $430/mo incl tax, $880 drive off including 1st month. This seems about right, and reasonable to me. Will likely pull the trigger in the next couple of days.

I was quoted $449/month lease for a WRX Premium standard with $1000.00 down. MSRP is $31910. Terms are 12,000 miles/36 months. That number sounded high to me, so did some research and found this forum. Could you give MF and residual on this? I'm in Ohio.
    Thanks.

I didn't get that far. We drove it, and the salesman said he would "put some numbers together" for me. He called me yesterday with the $449 quote. I assume he based it on the MSRP since we didn't discuss the price.

Yeah, you want to negotiate the best selling price possible .. read the last few pages of this forum and see what others have been getting as far as discounts from sticker. Also use the pricing tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to establish a target for your area.

MSRP is $34,545, the lease is for three years at 10,000 miles per year. The $2,000 is essentially a buy down to reduce the monthly payments. Thanks!

Using the MSRP of $34,545, a net cap of $30,400 (sell price less $2000), .00150 MF and 62% residual, I get a pre-tax payment of $327.23.

I suspect that not all of the $2K is used as cap cost reduction - get the breakdown from the dealer. First payment, acquisition and dealer fees are probably part of that up front money.

    Adjusted Sale Price $32,400.00

Still seems like a fair deal to me. Am I off the mark?

I'm getting $403, so much closer to your dealer quote now. If they are using the base MF of .00150, then the only way to make this deal better is to get a lower selling price.

I'm about to buy my first car so I would appreciate some help in this regard. I'm looking at a Base WRX 2015 model, MSRP is $27,400.
On Subaru's website there is a promotion going that says $2000 due on a new 2015 wrx and payment is $289/mo for 36 months for 12k miles a year.

If I wanted to keep my monthly payment around $250+ tax, how much do I need to put down assuming I get $1000 off MSRP on the selling price? I haven't negotiated yet

Base model: .00180 MF and 65% residual for 36mo, 12K/yr

That works out to be about $318/mo. with no CAP cost reduction, and a $1000 discount from MSRP.

Their ad doesn't give you much of a breakdown, so it's hard to make comparisons. I would assume the $2000 due at signing is 1st payment, acquisition fee and about $1100 of CAP cost reduction (and, most likely a $900 discount from MSRP)..

If you want to get that down to $250/mo., you'd have to put about $3200 upfront... Of course, you'd still have tax on top of that.

Manual transmission: .00155 MF and 61% residual

With no additions to the selling price, $367/mo.

With ZERO due at signing, add 1st payment, $595 acq.fee, title/registration/doc (about $500?) and that takes you up to about $410/mo.+tax

Seems like they might be about $15-$20/mo. too high.. Need to find out the CAP cost on the deal and a breakdown of that number.

Thank you. So it's possible if I put $4000 down that it will be well within $275/mo after taxes. Assuming I do well on the MSRP discount and they don't jack up the money factor?

I don't understand this number because I have a friend that works at Scion and I got a lease quote for the FR-S. The FR-S online has the same deal $289/mo, 36 mo/12, $2000 due at signing ($650 is acquisition, 1st month payment, fees.) and he told me with $4000 down it comes out to around $305/month including taxes. I would've thought it'd be around $275-280 just like the wrx. Is the money factor the only possible difference between the two cars?

    Hi hope someone can help?

My Son will be a college grad in May and he wants to lease a WRX. I know there is a Subaru recent college grad program. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the money factor and residual are. Also since this is a Subaru program can the dealer still mess around with the money factor?

The car he wants is a 2015 WRX Premium 6spd manual. MSRP with the WRX Short Throw Shifter Package and Popular Package #2 is $30649.00 There are a few other extras that he'd like but I assume that all of the little bits like body side moldings etc are dealer installed options that can't be residualized?

The dealers all tell us the car has to be ordered which is fine. He's looking to do a 36mth lease with 15K a year.

The car will most likely be leased in North Carolina since he has a job there, although we live in New Jersey..

Any help will be much appreciated!!!

60% residual and .00172 MF for 36/15. I believe that all options are residualized for Subaru, even the dealer installed ones.

Dealer can inflate the MF but the residual is fixed by the bank.

Hi Mitchell.. Another quick question. It seems that as of March 1st we can no longer factory order a 2105 and it would have to be a 2016, except that Subaru hasn't opened the order bank yet on 2016 models and no one seems to know when that might be.. best guess I've heard is maybe some time in April.

So we're now looking at a 2015 Limited, 6 speed manual.. are the residual and money factors the same on the Limited model??

    Thanks Again!

Hello, I live in Las Vegas, NV. I am interested in leasing a new 2015 Subaru WRX. I am looking for 3 years 36k miles. The MSRP is $26,295, selling price $25,000. Zero down. I was curious what the mf and residual would be. And if anyone could work up a payment that would be cool, or I could use a calculator. Tax rate is 8.1. I could take care of taxes and Reg at purchase if needed and if it's a good idea, I'm looking for advice with that. This will be my first lease. I have done many purchases.

Also, maybe this would be a good place to ask, across all 3 beraus I have a 700 - 710 score, would this quality me at all and if so, would I take a big hit on the mf?

    Thanks for your time.

I'm guessing this is a WRX Base with the manual transmission - if so, the lease numbers are 65% and .00180. Using your MSRP and cap cost, I get a pre-tax payment of $295.44/mo - after tax, $319.37.

I'm not certain, but I believe NV taxes the payment monthly, so you wouldn't be responsible for those costs up front.

Your credit scores qualify you for the top tier MF of .00180.

Thank you so much for your insight. I really appreciate it. You are giving me the honest information that I need before shopping. That was for the base 6mt is there a difference in the mf or residual for the premium 6mt?

    Thank you again.

Any thoughts on this deal: 239 / month 2k down (including all fees listed below) for an '15 WRK 6sp base. After tax the monthly fee would be $288 a month. Lease terms are 42 months and 10k a year. I know 42 months is not ideal, however it seems like the implicit purchase price (25.1k) on this is pretty good. Also the breakdown on the fees seemed high at $595 acquisition & $399 document. The option to buy at the end is $16,222.5. I'm new to leasing and am a little aprehensive; but it seems like this is a good deal.

The 42/10 numbers on the WRX base 6MT are 61% and .00176.

What is the full breakdown of the $2000 due at signing? $595 acquisition fee is mandated by the bank; the $399 doc fee is high, but might be normal based on where you live.

What is the MSRP, if $25,100 is the selling price?

What state is this? $49/mo seems high for sales tax.

On the surface, it looks good, but the devil is in the details.
