2015 Subaru WRX Lease Questions

I'm about to lease a 2015 wrx limited cvt

msrp is 32,773
Money factor - .00098 
resisidual - 58% 
term- 36 mnths
mileage - 12,000

They said cap fees were - $1,394.00
They said total taxes were -$1,023.58
They said Adj cap cost was - $34,067.00

said with $725 down
( which covers 1st mnth and title , reg fees 

my my payments would be $498 included taxes

seems high to me any options on how to negotiate what part of the deal to get a better mntly rate .

( they also said I get 2yrs free Maintance included  )

Acquisition fee is $595. So, the other $799 is a dealer fee? They only gave a $1000 discount from MSRP and now they want $800 back for a fee?

I don't know what WRXs are going for, but no way I would pay $500/mo. to lease a $33,000 car. I'd rather pay $600/mo. for 60 months and buy it..

Plus, once you put an automatic in a WRX, it's just a fast Impreza. (sorry, I digress)

Even at $400/mo., I question the value of leasing a WRX. Have you shopped for alternatives?

36/15 numbers are 56% and either .00103 (MT) or .00098 (CVT).

We don't recommend you put money down on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money.

That said, with an MSRP of $34,061 and a net cap of $28,220, the MT payment would be $302.76 and the CVT payment would be $300.40. Add $83/mo for $0 cap cost reduction.

Also note there are other up front costs - acquisition fee, dealer fee, license/tags, etc.

Going on your advice of no money down I'm looking at a base model instead with MT. Msrp is 27692. Cash price is 26500. I have a trade in that gets me $3000 in my favor. What payment should I see no cash down and can I have the dealer give me that $3000 from the trade in a check to me?

60% residual and .00135 for WRX Base with MT. With your MSRP and selling price, the pre-tax payment is $332.78/mo.

Remember there are up front costs you may be obligated to cover, so saying "$0 down" is different from saying "$0 out of pocket".

Yes, you can request that the dealer cut you a check for the equity in your trade.

Yes, these rates are good through 1/5/15. 24/12 numbers are 70% and .00267 (ouch - that's 6.4%).

1. What are the mf & residuals for the 2015 WRX base and premium trims in Jan (manuals only - 10k & 12k miles)?

2. For purposes of calculating residual value, do I include the destination fee in the MSRP or should the residual value be calculated without destination fee?

.00103 MF and 59%/58% residual for premium

2) The full MSRP including destination (the bottom line on the window sticker)

Quick question on an a quote in nj. Wrx limited manual w/ navi package, sti wheels, and short throw.
36mo lease 10k miles. $4300 down 369 a month. I don't know how to calculate if that's a good or bad deal. With that much down I would think the monthly should be lower.

Without MSRP and selling price, we can't calculate it, either.

Without MSRP and selling price, we can't calculate it, either. .00085 MF and 58% residual

MSRP would be $35365 but a selling price was never discussed.  Just those figures they gave me.  I'll have to contact the dealer again if a selling price is needed to know if it's a good deal or not.  Thanks

With $2000 upfront to cover 1st payment, fees and taxes, the payment would be around $375/mo.

Subtract/Add $29/mo. for every $1000 difference in upfront.

OK, so there are some options that take the base MSRP to the $27,592.

Then, we would need to know the negotiated selling price in order to model a payment.

Ouch, that money factor for 24 months is a killer. Can't tell you if the selling price is good or not; I've never been in the market for a WRX.

Any reason you don't want to go to a 36 month term? MF is only 1/3 as much.
