Every $1000 of down payment will reduce the pre-tax payment about $28/mo, yes.

Acquisition fee is $595 for Subaru. Doc fee is set by the dealer.

Tax obligations on a lease vary by what state you live in. Some tax the monthly payment only, others calculate the entire tax for the lease (sum of the payments) up front, still others tax the entire selling price.

My dealer said 2000 down plus 480 pm.
That is 3000$ difference

Will talk to him again, or will find another dealer

Ok, he said he was just giving vague numbers.
I used your numbers and he came close. After a little discussion, he agreed for a 2000 down + 392 pm.
Sounds fair to me
You said 384 + tax. He said 392 including tax.

Good to keep them honest - it helps when you know the 'real' numbers the dealer ought to be using.

I'm looking to lease a WRX Premium 6MT, price I'm quote is around $27800. Lease is 36 months 12k miles. I live in NY and most likely getting it from dealer in NJ, so I'm not sure what tax rate it will be. Can I get some numbers as in terms how much it will be after tax? And also the MF and the residual please. I will be talking to the sales tomorrow through the phone so I want some numbers to compare to his. Lastly I will probably be putting down $2000 upfront.

Hi, dealer is quoting me a residual of 64% and a MF of 0.00235 for a 2016 WRX Limited with 6MT. Are those good numbers? Seem a bit high to me. Car's MSRP is $34,500 with a lease payment of $478 plus tax. Thank you.
