Hi All, Just got quoted for a 2015 428i gran coupe.

    MSRP $49,245
    Residual 63%
    Lease end value $31,024
    Initial Cap Cost $44,981
    Customer Cash down $2000
    Cash Cap Reduction $833.77
    36/12k
    MF 0.0017
    Adds to Cap $995
    Adjusted Cap Cost $45,142
    Payment before tax $521.64

Is this a good deal, this is in San Jose, Ca. Seems like $2k out the door is not a bad deal for $567 including tax @ $8.75%.

MF is marked up the max (base is .00130), as is the bank fee of $995 (base is $795). That's where they are making up the big discount from sticker.

Tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.

This forum has been a huge help. Can someone tell me if this is a good deal for a 428i convertible or what I could probably reduce? I know that I can reduce the MF but is it marked up because of other areas they are conceding?

Upgrades include Sport Line and heated front seats

    Selling Price: 48,150
    Doc Fee: 80
    Acquisition Fee: 995
    License Fee: 391

    Gross Cap Cost: 49,145

    Customer Cash: 5,150
    Amt Applied Upfront: 1,337
    Total Cap Reduction: 3,813

    Net Cap Cost: 45,332

    MSRP: 52,150
    Residual: 62%
    36 months / 10k
    Prepaid Cents/Mile: 0.15

    Adj Residual 32,333

    MF: .0017

    Monthly payment before taxes: $493.11

I feel like there is still room here like reducing the MF to .0013 and acquisition fee to $795. Is the residual low as well for a 36/10? What would be considered a good deal? Any input is appreciated.

I ran this deal thru the Leasify iPhone app using my Seattle zip code and it came out as a 6.2/10 which results in a "Caution" recommendation. Looks like room for improvement to money factor and acquisition fee for sure. You did well on negotiated price since you are below Edmunds True Market value so I recommend focusing on money factor then acquisition fee. My only other comment would be to try to limit cash down up front if you can - $5,150 is pretty significant. Let me know if I can help!

Great app, thanks! The $5,150 is because I'm trying to keep the monthly payments down. I guess there's also the risk losing the down payment if the car is totaled, etc. but I'm trading in a car and plan on using that for the down. I definitely plan on asking for .0013 MF and hopefully reduce the total fees (currently $1,456 with registration) which is the other item that leasify flagged.

I just finished grad school and the sales manager was looking into a $1,000 incentive and I just confirmed it online that its available to grad students, so I am going to try adding that $1,000 along with the $1,000 Drive for Team USA that I have an appointment for Saturday (Thanks again for whoever posted that) to add $2,000 in incentives. So the $2,000 plus reducing the MF to .0013, and MAYBE reducing fees starts to sound like a decent deal. No?

Leasify gives it a 7.8 after the $2k and .0013 MF I believe.

Cash down or equity on a lease is not recommended - as you noted, if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Politely but firmly explain to the dealer that you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. Lots of BMW dealers; it only takes one to meet your numbers.

Got it, thanks! In terms of fees, they're proposing ($995 acquisition fee, $80 doc fee, and $391 license fee). The Leasify app includes the license & registration fee in their calculations of how much in fees you should charge. It basically shows that anything above the $795 is a negative to the deal. Can the license and registration fee really be negotiated? To me that's basically an out of pocket expense for them and the same as negotiating the price of the vehicle.

Just trying to figure out where I can get more aggressive on the fees. I plan on asking for the $795, but is there anything else?

Also, can someone remind me what the 2015 428i convertible 36/10 residual is?

Michaell is correct about license and tag fees - unfortunately non-negotiable. Leasify flags any fees in the iPhone app to make sure users are aware that they are being charged and ask questions to make the dealer justify each fee.

I'm within a couple of dollars using your numbers ... but, the MF this month is .00130, not .00125. Payment goes to $857 with that change.

Thanks Michaell. From what I've seen here, it looks like a good deal - solid 10+% off MSRP, but still thinking I should try to get another $1k off or so. Also will try to get them to match payoff to stick to $800/mo or below (hopefully). Any thoughts?

Hi, looking for the current MF and residual for 428i GC.

Also, do I have to let the dealer pull my credit to get the quote for lease? Talked with a dealer yesterday and he said he needs to do that to give me further information. I don't want to have too many hard inquires on my credit report..

    Thanks for the help!

    .00130 and 61%. $1000 buildout cash.

They at should be able to give you a quote without a credit pull. They can assume top tier credit which we just gave you.

Thanks Mike! I have a 800 credit but never leased/financed a car before. Is that possible to get top tier credit approval? Also, is that possible to pay $0 down?

    Thanks again for the help!

I'm not a credit expert, so I can't really comment whether an 800 score but no auto history will qualify you for top tier credit. Call a couple of BMW dealers and ask to speak to the finance manager, then ask that person.

For leases, there is a difference between "$0 down" and "$0 due at signing". Down payment on a lease is not recommended.

There are, however, certain up front costs that you can choose to pay when you sign the paperwork - bank fee ($795), dealer fee, state tag or license costs, first month's payment.

Hi id just like to let everyone know that the leases on the 4 series are not great at all. The coupe has a very low residual of 58percent on 36 15 and none of the dealers are willing to budge more than 5500 on a 46k car. The numbers must get better coming october time. Last oct i leased a 328i with 7.8k off the msrp on a 46k car since bmw had 3k cash incentive on the car.
I dont understand why their numbers arent getting better considering the fact that the 2016 has a facelift and a new engine. I would absolutely wait another 2 months or so until either the discount or the residuals get better. Bmw would have to get rid of the old 2015s sooner or later.

Need some advice. Leasing a 428 convertible. Loaded with an MSRP of $61k

Dealer giving me lease of $714/mo for 10k miles and $730/mo with 12k miles

Selling the car to me for $57000
    62% residual
Excellent credit and MF 0f .00125

    Drive off is $1800

    Thoughts?

Seems like a good dealt to me.

Oh...and I haven't let them know about the BMW bonus cash yet so there is another $1000 coming off ;-)

With 62% residual, I get $651/mo.+tax. Assuming the sale price is the same as the CAP cost.

If you are referring to the $1000 buildout cash, I'd guess they already "built" that into their quote.

Seeking feedback on the following offer on a 2015 435i coupe:

    MSRP: 67k
    Negotiated Price: 60k
    MF: .00125
    Res: 61%
    Terms: 36/10
    Fees: 5k (4.2k - GA TVAT, 800 - doc, title, license fees)
    Negative equity on trade-in: 1.7k
    Pmt - $850 mo ($800/mo without trade-in negative equity)

I'm within a couple of dollars using your numbers ... but, the MF this month is .00130, not .00125. Payment goes to $857 with that change.

Thanks Michaell. From what I've seen here, it looks like a good deal - solid 10+% off MSRP, but still thinking I should try to get another $1k off or so. Also will try to get them to match payoff to stick to $800/mo or below (hopefully). Any thoughts?

If you don't ask, you don't get. 10% off is a pretty healthy discount from what I've seen.

7/27 Update - was able to negotiate the following:

    MSRP: 67,375
    Negotiated Price: 59,585
    MF: .00130
    Res: 61%
    Terms: 36/10
    Fees: 5k (4,171 - GA TVAT, 809 - doc, title, license fees)
    Negative equity on trade-in: $824
Drive off payment - $1,000 (to cover for some of negative equity/fees - not down payment)
    Monthly Pmt - $780

Seems great to me. Any thoughts on the deal before I sign?

Ouch - that tax situation in GA really hurts.

If the cap cost is $63,585 (sell price + fees - drive off), I get a payment of $761/mo - so, $684 difference overall.

Yeah - the tax situation here sucks - considering the owners choice financing which are exactly the same terms as the lease, but will get tax back on the residual when I sell it back at the end of the term (instead of losing the entire tax amount in doing a traditional lease).

The $684 diff that you're getting is the remaining negative equity that's being rolled in - that's what is putting me at $780

Not very familiar with it but will definitely look into it. All in all, I'm feeling good considering the tax situation here - ended up getting an 11.5% discount on MSRP which seems high based on what I'm reading here. Trade-in came strong too - right at what edmunds estimated for my car. Thanks for your feedback here and throughout this forum! It's been really helpful.

Hi would appreciate your thoughts on the following:

    435i xdrive
    36 months/ 10k
    MSRP: 59,568
    NCC: 55,890
    MF: .0013
    61% residual
    monthly payment: $663
$4,487.81 due at signing - 349 doc fee, 945 bank fee, first month, 310 NYC reg, 2,235.17 taxes.

From what I see here, looks like I can knock another 2.2k off the NCC to get a 10% discount?

What are your thoughts on security deposits? I can do 7x $650 to bring the MF down to .00081 but that's A LOT up front.

    Thanks
    Anatoly

i get $666 with those numbers, so pretty close to your quote.

If you can afford it, MSDs are a great way to reduce your payment and make a pretty healthy return on that money. Remember, you get it back at the end of the lease.
