Hi, one more question about my earlier post (435 gran coupe in California). The MF quoted by the dealer seems way too high. Are people in CA getting .00130?

    From dealer: 36 mos lease 61% for 10k/yr or 60% for 12k/yr
    39 mos lease 62% for 10k/yr or 61% for 12k/yr
    MF .0017

Most BMW dealers mark up the money factor.. That's part of the negotiation. There are a lot of BMW dealers in CA... shop around.

I just got another quote from a dealer, how does this deal look? Any good?

    MSRP of $56,525
    Sale price$ 52,000
    .0013 money factor
    61% residual

    39mo./12k miles per year
Fees up front - taxes rolled in
NY Reg zip 11214 - Brooklyn NY

    Due at signing: $2,454.06
    Monthly payment: $619.00

The vehicle as built has an MSRP of $56,525

Looks pretty good, assuming your tax rate is around 8%.

$1835 seems like a lot of fees, if the tax is in the payment, though..

I know, the fees are first month payment, acquisition fee, registration, fuel fee, etc.

Looking for money factors and residuals for a 428xi convertible and a 435xi convertible to compare. 10k mi./yr for 36 or 39 months whichever is a better offer. Obviously the holiday credit is gone. Any owner loyalty money or other incentives on either of these cars?

    Thanks a bunch :)

    Hi,

I got an offer for 2015 428i Coupe and I need some advise on this.

    MSRP $50680
    Selling Price $47235

    39 months and 15k miles/year
    MF 0.0013
    Residual Value 58%

Drive off:$ 1975 (includes 1st month payment, Registration, Acquisition Fee, etc)

    Monthly payment is $557 + 9% Tax = $607.

I am located at Southern California.

Should I go lower on the selling price? Is $45500 a reasonable price?

    Thanks in advance

    My numbers match yours.

If you don't ask for the lower selling price, you won't know if the dealer will do it.

I have a question, what is the invoice price for a 2015 428xi gran coupe? I thought it was $38,915, according to edmunds. Now the dealer tells me it's $39,595. Is that correct?
The dealer is probably adding MACO (regional advertising fee) and the BMW training fee (around $200). Those are both on his invoice.
I'm referring to the base invoice, Edmund's has it listed as $38,915, the dealers I been working with has $39,525 and $39,415. I'm confused. Who has the actually invoice?

I think they are both correct, though the Edmunds number may not include items that the dealer has on its paperwork.

I don't think $600 is that much to dicker over on $39K. Make a strong offer and see what the dealer says.

Hi I am looking at a 2015 428xi convertible. It is equiped with metallic paint, premium package, and cold weather package. The MSRP is 55500 I was quoted a selling price of 52310 with a residual of 60% on a 39 month 12k mile lease. The money factor was .0014, total upfront of $841.63 and a payment of $686.63. My sales tax is 8% and is included in the payment. Any input on this offer would be appreciated. - clear

Using the numbers you've provided, I'm getting a pre-tax payment of $607.29, after tax $655.87.

The base MF is .00130, which would save you about $10/mo.

The up front costs seem a bit low - usually it includes the acquisition fee, first payment and dealer fees.

    Thanks for your information.
I believe that the acquisition fee was rolled into the deal. I will need to find out why the payment they quoted is different from yours.
Does the selling price seem to be fair.

I am looking at a 435i right now with Technology Package, Premium Package, M Sport and Driver Assistance Package, heated front seats and Harman Kardon Audio - MSRP $59,595.00 but I got a cap cost at $55,790.00. Saving 3800. Is it good enough? The LMF is 0.0013 (standard) and term is 39 with 61% residual.

Hi, I would be grateful for input as to whether I can do better on this deal. am looking at a 39/10 lease on a 435i x drive coupe with Tech, M Sport, Premium, Driver Assist, and Cold Weather. MSRP is $60,350. Tax here is 7.25%. The Dealer's offer is $725/month with everything rolled in except $380 in fees and first month's payment. Originally they were using a discount price of $58k but that was when the monthly payment was at $745. I am not sure of discount price since payment went down to $725. MF is 00130 and residual is 61%. Any thoughts? Thanks!

That is the base money factor and the correct residual.

If I add the $795 acquisition fee to the selling price for a CAP of $58,795, the payment is $688/mo.+tax, or about $738/mo. That's very close to your $745/mo.

$20/mo. saving is about $700 more off.. So, about a $3000 discount from MSRP... That's not a bad deal, if the dealership is giving you all base rates..

Hello. I was given the following offer for a 2015 428i with various packages and options, MSRP $52975: price $49575, term 39 mo., rate .0017, residual .61, acq fee $995, cash $2000, gov't fees $702, tax $2006, doc fee $489, monthly lease payment $667. This is an APR of 4.08%, which seems very unreasonable to me, but I'd appreciate some input. The BMW USA website shows a 428i lease for $419 which I think is 0% APR: http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/Vehicles/2015/4/428iCoupe/offerdetail.aspx?OfferType=2&namodelcode=154A&regiontypeid=2

The base MF is .00130, so your dealer is marking up the MF on you for more profit. Acquisition fee is also marked up the max as well - base is $795.

You can do better ... is there another BMW dealer close by to work with?

Thanks for the info. Yes, there are two others -- waiting to hear back from them.

Unfortunately I'll probably have to custom-order a 428i to make it affordable -- all the ones at the dealerships (including the one above) are way overloaded.

For a custom-ordered 428i, MSRP $46750 (M Sport Package + leather, which is all I want), he made the following offer (no other details given): $588/mo., price = invoice + $500, term 39 mo., $2000 "total drive off" (whatever that means). But when I use the Edmunds calculator, I get $499/mo, based on: $44355 price (invoice + $500), 61% residual, $0 down, 0% APR, 39 mo., 10k mi, $795 acq. fee. I realize that doesn't account for sales tax, title, etc., but still.

Yep, I'm getting $500.82/mo with your numbers and the .00130 base MF. Have the dealer give you the net cap cost - if it's different than the selling price, make them explain how they got from one to the other.

The $2000 drive off probably includes acquisition fee, first months payment, tags/license.

I'm getting push-back from salesmen at two different dealers about whether it's 0% APR in that BMW USA lease deal in the webpage linked above. When I plug the data from that webpage into the Edmunds lease calculator, the only money factor that works is 0. See attachment. Am I doing something wrong?
