Hi there! I am looking to lease a 2015 X5 sDrive (10/36) with the following packages and options: M sport package, premium package, driver assistance package, metallic paint, 20" M double spoke rims, and surround view.

The MSRP on the vehicle is $64,850.00. I was offered $3,850 off MSRP, $699 dealer fee, $3,702.33 sales tax (Florida - 6%), tag fee $458.85, for "out the door" price of $65,860.18.

Total "out of pocket" to take the car $1,000.00, monthly payment of $843.27 (includes tax or so they said).

    Is this a good deal?

    .00130 and 60% for 36/10.

Sales tax is not charged up front - it's attached to the monthly payment. If I calculate the net cap cost as ($64,850 - $3850 + $699 + $458.85 = $62,157.85), I get a pre-tax payment of $777.16. 6% tax takes the payment to $823.79.

Dealer may be marking up the MF for a bit of extra profit. The $1000 up front covers your acquisition fee ($725) and tags/license.

Michaell, thank you very much for your help with the calculations. It seems like they are adding in an extra $20 and change per month to the payment.

If I were to rectify that issue, would this be a good deal? Meaning, is $3850 a decent discount off of the MSRP? I have calculated from different websites that this discount does not bring the car down to invoice, however do you find that X5s are sold at invoice or slightly higher?

Again, thank you for your assistance and thank you to anyone else who might be able to assist.

I've heard that X5's are one of the most popular cars on the market .. they don't stay on dealer lots very long. Any discount would be a good one, based on that information.

    Hi,

What is the MF and residual for 2015 X5 xDrive35d for 36/12K in Los Angeles. Is 36 month the best deal going or would 24 be a better deal right now. Thank you.

    Here's what I've got going...

    2015 X5 50i. Optioned fairly heavy.

    MSRP $90,250.00
    Agreed Price $86,915.00 ($3,335 discount ~3.7%)
    Dealer Fees $609
    Acquisition Fee $725

    Lease is a 36 Mo. with 10K/yr. (59% RV??)
I believe the MF is .0013 (if not, I'll rectify that).
    Monthly Lease is $1,050.00 pre-tax

I am sure I could do better on the sales price, but my CA is a guy that used to be a client of mine... Long story... But the gist of that is that I'm not interested in trying to screw him over.

Now I read somewhere that there is a $1,000 credit available for in-stock X5's purchased before December 24 (as an addition to the "Happier Holiday Event").

First - Is this a decent lease?

Second - Does anyone know anything more about the X5 $1K Credit?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

First, I confirm both the .00130 MF and 59% residual for 36/10.

Second, I see no lease cash available on the X5 this month. For customer incentives, use the "Car Research" to link to them.

Third, with your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $1117.42/mo. Not sure how they're getting $1050 - are you putting money down (cash or trade equity)?

Is the $5000 all cap cost reduction, or is some of it going to the up front fees? If it's all cap cost, then the payment should come down about $139/mo from my calculations.

If Utah taxes the payment only, then the pre-tax amount is subject to sales tax.

    Thank you, Michael!

The $5,000 is the total amount I'm putting down, including all fees & 1st mo. payment. So I'm figuring it's close to $3,000 cap reduction...

Utah taxes the payment only, so my post-tax payment is higher. They also tax the cap cost reduction.

Am I getting a decent deal?

$3000 works out to $83/mo over 36 months. Subtract that from the $1117 I calculated and the pre-tax payment drops to $1034/mo. Add 6.85% tax and you're at $1104.83

Looking at an X5 5.0i with MSRP of $84050. Dealer quoted me MF .0017, residual of 57% on a 36/10 lease. Monthly payments were $1039 with a $5000 deposit. Previously negotiated a purchase price of $79007 (6% off MSRP) but he is trying to get me to lease instead of purchase, what are your thoughts on where I should be on the lease numbers? Thanks in advance

Hey thanks, that's already a jump in the right direction. IIRC there is a decent financial argument for jumping at 10k and paying for the extra miles prior to lease end if I wasn't certain to be doing 15k. When the 12 and 15k come in, I'd be grateful if you could pin them up.

I would assume that the 12K number is 1% lower and the 15K number 3% lower, but don't me to that.

That rarely works out... it's a very narrow range.. Take the higher mileage allowance, unless you are sure you will be less than 1/3 of the difference over the lower allowance.

    .00130 and 60% for 36/10.

X5's are incredibly popular, so I'm not certain that an offer of $500 over invoice will be accepted. But .. make the offer and see how the dealer counters.

I was looking to lease ~ 65k X5 but  the dealer offered me a loaner model with 9,564 mls on the car. 10k / 57% res, year 2015  MSRP 62,200 payment $597 with $3700 out of pocket including NY taxes. What do you think?

57% is the 36/15 residual ... it's 60% for 10K miles. Unless they are adjusting the residual to account for the miles already on the car.

    What is the selling price?

Is any of the $3700 out of pocket going to cap cost reduction?

Are they allowed  to adjust residual  to account for the used miles? Is it negotible? If they adjusting residual then what am I winning then? Selling price is $53400. Paperwork shows $1510 cap cost reduction which was not discussed during negotioation.
Anything I should be concerned by getting a loaner? What my target numbers should be?
    Thanks

Yes.. they have to adjust the residual for the miles. You only come out ahead if the extra discount over a new one is bigger than the residual adjustment.

Your $3700 upfront is obviously more than the amount of the taxes, fees and first payment. That additional money is the CAP cost reduction.

I wouldn't worry about getting a loaner, as long as you can verify that you'll be in warranty for the entire term of the lease.

Yes it will be in warranty for the entire lease. The only consern I think here are tires. They will not last the entire lease due to extra milage on the car.

Overall what is your though on this deal ?
Should I jump on it or run away ?

    Thanks again

It depends on the negotiated selling price ... if they are giving you a healthy discount from sticker, it might be a good deal. X5's are expensive to lease to begin with - a loaner may make it a bit more affordable.

Sorry, I must have missed that.

OK, with your MSRP and selling price, along with the 57% residual and .00130 MF, I get a pre-tax payment of $612.50 for 36 months. Not too bad for a car that stickers at $62K.

So I ordered an X5 5.0i and it is arriving at the dealer this Thursday. Are there any indications on what the March #s are for a 36/10K lease? Should I wait to sign on Monday or should I go with the February #s (.0013MF and 60%)?

We don't have any numbers for March at this time; crystal ball is cloudy, but I wouldn't expect major changes.

Can someone here tell me how they feel about this deal? 2015 X5 3.0, $65,025... Dealer gave me this week - $3000 down, $775 per month, 36 mos, 15k. What do you guys think? I didn't catch the selling price the lease was based on.

We would need to know what the selling price is before we could comment.

Also, what is the breakdown of the $3000 up front?

Current lease numbers are .00130 and 57% for 36/15 on the X5.

Where do you live? Tax obligations for a lease vary based on the state.

Thanks for reply... I'm in central NJ. Not sure what the breakdown is for upfront. But it includes tax and everything at 3000 total out of pocket. Not sure about the selling price.
