Thanks. Pretty good deal or think I have more room for negotiations?
I don't track selling prices - I've never been in the market for German luxury sport sedan. Read back the last page or two of this discussion to see what others have been able to negotiate.
I just accepted a the below lease (pending my trade-in value). Please let me know how did i do.
MSRP $51,715 Destination delivery $925 Total $52,640 Sale's price $44,400 Fee $298 (doc fee) Tax & Title Fees $157 Ma tax $2,793 NET SALES $47,648
DUE AT SIGNING INCLUDING 1ST MONTH $2,116 (includes 1st month payment, registration and basic lease accqusistion)
Lease term: 36 months with 15K/year Monthly $498
MF. : They didn't provide me Residual value - $31,584
With your numbers (and using the base MF of .00136) I get $553.98/mo.
I thought MA charges sales tax against the monthly payment, not up front. If I remove the tax from the net sales price, making it $44,855), the payment drops to $472.60.
Confirm with the dealer what the net capitalized cost is - if it's different from the net sales price above, get them to explain why.

Yes Ma tax is charged against monthly payment. My quoted $498/month does include tax. I'll check with them on the net capitalized cost.

has anyone tried rolling the 3 year maintenance prepaid maintenance into the lease?
I have not, but it's something am I going to do if I pull the trigger. I love the fact that BMW includes it with all new cars, but I just can't shake off the fact that the c-class mesmerizes me. lol
has anyone tried rolling the 3 year maintenance prepaid maintenance into the lease?
There is no restriction on rolling in the cost of the maintenance plan. There is some anecdotal evidence that some dealers will even get it added to the MSRP, which results in the amount being residualized (lowering the actual cost).
How's the deal I got? (The more I research, the worse it appears).
- C300, MSRP: 47235 + nav ($600) + service. - 7500 miles for 36 months - Monthly payment $415 including tax + service.
Catch is: Its a CVP loaner car with something like 2000 miles on it. When I checked cars with similar features, (blind spot, backup camera, premium package, sunroof) as certified used cars, the MSRP is $40,500
I think I should have gone under $375/month for this car?

What was the actual selling price for your car? The miles would have been deducted from the residual up front.
If you've already signed for it, don't stress about the deal. Enjoy driving the car for the next three years and come back before making your next deal.

Hi Michaell,
On the quote dealer gave me of the $6000, $4886.33 is down, $464.92 is first payment, $573.75 is DMV fees and $75 Documentation fee.
The adjusted price is $47999.
We do not recommend making any sort of down payment on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money. That down payment represents about $136/mo, making your "true" payment just over $600/mo before tax.
Just an OK deal. Scroll back through the last few pages of posts to see what others have negotiated for selling prices and what their lease payments work out to.
Very possible the MF is marked up and the dealer is slipping in some extra fees on you.

Hi Michaell,
With my current number, does the dealer gave the correct monthly payment ? MSRP $54545 Adjusted Cap Cost $47999 36 months, 12K /yr $4886.33 down payment
What will the monthly payment be if I only put $2000 down ?

On a 36 month lease, every $1000 down reduces your payment by about $28/mo.
Using your MSRP and adjusted price from above, along with the base MF of .00136 and residual of 62%, I get a pre-tax payment of $519.03/mo

Michaell,
Thanks for your response. Just wonder how did you get $519.03 ? this doesn't include any down payment right ? My calculation is: Depreciation = (Adjust cap cost - Residual)/ 36 = (47999 - 33817.90)/36 = $393.92 Interest = (Adjusted cap cost + Residual) x Money factor = (47999 + 33817.90) x 0.00136 = 111.27 Total payment before tax = Depreciation + Interest = $505.19 (before TAX)
It doesn't match up with the quote I received from dealer, they quoted me $464.92/month (tax included) with 4886.33 down payment, if using the formula above with 4886.33 down, I should be paying less than $400 a month. Is my calculation wrong or the dealer used the higher money factor ?

I assumed the $47,999 selling price is before any down payment is made. My math works out the same as yours to get the $505.19/mo payment.
With 4886.63 down, the pre-tax payment would drop almost $136/mo to $369.45/mo
It's possible the dealer is marking up the MF on you; it's also possible that the net cap cost they are using is different than the $47,999 we are using in our calculations.
Hey guys - what is everyone getting in regard to discount on MSRP? The dealer, who has been fairly transparent with me thus far, is telling me that 12% is what consumers should be shooting for. I have heard people doing deals at 15%.
Also, he is telling me to wait for some loaners that are coming off lease. The thing is, these loaners are typically priced at a few thousand over a 15% discount, or at a 12% discount. Not sure if this is the smart way to go about a lease when compared to just getting the car new.

Two questions. Anyone have any luck getting dealer to include services and or tire package ? Seems like another 1800 for about 4 services over the course of 36mo 15k lease
Also if I were trading in a car worth $7k do I just have them cut a check and use that to pay my monthly or put that down to bring down monthly payments? Not sure how that works.

We usually see the maintenance package sold for around $1000 or so..
You can do it either way, but I'd rather have them cut me a check for the trade-in.
What do you think of this deal I was just offered (haven't accepted it yet)...
2015 C 300W 36mth / 15k miles
MSRP: $45,330 Selling Price: $38,630 (actually I think it's a little less, I didn't get the updated price after we dropped payment another $11) 40k mile Maintenance included ($1,299) Dealer Fees are ($450 Tag/Reg Fee, $99 Tag Agency Fee, $700 Dealer Fee)
$541/mth w/ $0 down OR $520/mth w/ $650 down *These include tax and I'm in FL.
I'm asked for $520 w/ $0 down and am waiting to hear back but wondering if I can do better?
Could I please get the RV and MF on a 2015 C300, 36 month term, 7500 miles/year? I'm located in Southern California. Also I don't think there are any at the moment, but do you know if there happen to be any current lease incentives?

With the numbers you've provided, along with the .00136 MF and 60% residual for 36/15, I get a pre-tax payment of $407.08/mo. My guess is that the net cap cost is a bit higher than the selling price - ask the dealer about that and make sure you fully understand all the numbers - OR - the MF has been inflated for a bit of extra dealer profit.

I just accepted a the below lease (pending my trade-in value). Please let me know how did i do.
MSRP $51,715
Destination delivery $925
Total $52,640
Sale's price $44,400
Fee $298 (doc fee)
Tax & Title Fees $157
Ma tax $2,793
NET SALES $47,648
DUE AT SIGNING INCLUDING 1ST MONTH
$2,116 (includes 1st month payment, registration and basic lease accqusistion)
Lease term: 36 months with 15K/year
Monthly $498
MF. : They didn't provide me
Residual value - $31,584
I thought MA charges sales tax against the monthly payment, not up front. If I remove the tax from the net sales price, making it $44,855), the payment drops to $472.60.
Confirm with the dealer what the net capitalized cost is - if it's different from the net sales price above, get them to explain why.

- Dealer said he can give me 12% discount, but I do not see a adjusted cap cost in the quote

How much of that $6K is down?

On the quote dealer gave me of the $6000, $4886.33 is down, $464.92 is first payment, $573.75 is DMV fees and $75 Documentation fee.
Just an OK deal. Scroll back through the last few pages of posts to see what others have negotiated for selling prices and what their lease payments work out to.
Very possible the MF is marked up and the dealer is slipping in some extra fees on you.

With my current number, does the dealer gave the correct monthly payment ?
MSRP $54545
Adjusted Cap Cost $47999
36 months, 12K /yr
$4886.33 down payment
What will the monthly payment be if I only put $2000 down ?
Thanks
Frank

On a 36 month lease, every $1000 down reduces your payment by about $28/mo.
Using your MSRP and adjusted price from above, along with the base MF of .00136 and residual of 62%, I get a pre-tax payment of $519.03/mo

Michaell,
Thanks for your response.
Just wonder how did you get $519.03 ? this doesn't include any down payment right ?
My calculation is:
Depreciation = (Adjust cap cost - Residual)/ 36 = (47999 - 33817.90)/36 = $393.92
Interest = (Adjusted cap cost + Residual) x Money factor = (47999 + 33817.90) x 0.00136 = 111.27
Total payment before tax = Depreciation + Interest = $505.19 (before TAX)

Also, he is telling me to wait for some loaners that are coming off lease. The thing is, these loaners are typically priced at a few thousand over a 15% discount, or at a 12% discount. Not sure if this is the smart way to go about a lease when compared to just getting the car new.
Also, read back through the last couple of pages of this discussion to see what others have been getting for discounts.

You can do it either way, but I'd rather have them cut me a check for the trade-in.
