Thanks Michaell, appreciate the help. With the numbers you provided, I'm calculating a payment of $435.58, Is my math close on this? If so, it seems as though the dealer is adding about $60/month in fees that aren't being shown in the final sales price (cap cost)... That seems high.

I get $435/mo, as well.

Is $1232 your total drive off? If so, that's not enough to pay NJ taxes, registration, 1st payment and dealer fees. Ask for the NET CAP cost and an explanation of any difference between that and the sale price.

Of course, ask for the APR and residual to see if those are the same, as well.

It should be .000104166 ... use .00010 as the MF in your calculations.

39 month residuals are 2% less than 36 months and the MF is .50% rather than .25%. No 42 month program from Ford, and the 48 month residuals are not competitive (MF is 2.75%, for example)

Ive gotten quotes from a handful of Nj dealers and here's the latest I received on a XLT 4WD. IIncludes the 202a package, navigation, LED fogs, and mats:

MSRP: $41390
Discount: $3390
Rebate: $500 (lease conquest)
Sales Price: $37500
Acq: $645
Doc: $229
DMV: $390.55
Tax: $848.75
Net Cap:  $39614.30 (is tax normally included in net cap?)

Term is 36 months, 13.5k miles per year.  Deal is $2500 out of pocket and $413/month. My calc is coming within a few dollars, so it looks good to me but I would love for a second set of eyes to take a look.  I think I'm below invoice (before applying incentives). Only downside is I'm awaiting confirmation the vehicle has arrived on the lot. It's currently "in transit" but expected any day now and may have arrived today.

When you subtract your upfront money from the Net CAP (which really isn't NET, since you haven't subtracted yet.. but I digress), you have to take out the 1st payment. So, instead of $2500 down, it's really $2087 ($2500 minus $413).

When I do that, using a money factor of .00010 (approx 0.25% APR), I get a payment of $416/mo. which is awfully close.

NJ collects tax upfront. Adding everything up, then subtracting your upfront money is just the math.

come down to $552 X 36 + taxes and fees.
Am I correct?

I was doing some calculations yesterday and checking my numbers against some results on truecar.com. Today the numbers jumped up and it looks like the residual jumped down a couple thousand. For a 2016 Ford Explorer Sport with 18K/yr I was using 53%, but now it looks like 48%. I do know that we are into 2016 now as far as ford is concerned. Can you confirm the residual please. I am hoping that this is just a glitch.
Also, is an APR of .25% still good?

36 months 10,500 miles a year. $440 per month. Let me know if this number makes sense.

We don't have the new residuals, but the APR appears to still be 0.25% and $250 lease cash.
