Payment is $674 pretax $710 post tax prior to the $1000 UDE credit, so about $646 pretax and $682 post tax if you subtract the UDE.  This is for a factory order.

Did BMW move to 39 month deals in November? According to their lease specials they did. My dealer told me that the residuals went down 3%, which seems crazy!

We have limited information, but it looks like the 4-series convertible special is 39 months for November.

If you think residual values are based in reality, I've got disappointing news for you...

BMW threw in $500 more and lower MF, but more than offset that by the residual drop. He said 36/10 for 2016 428 GC is now 55%!

39/10 residual is 56%, which is the way to go, this month.

.00131 is the correct residual for November. 36/12 residual for 428i Convertible is 54%.

39/12 residual is 55%, if you want to rework the deal.

I locked my MF and residual for 60 days Now the residual is lower by 2 % The dealer says that I can either accept the locked residual or if I want to apply incentives I have to accept the current lower residual. Is he correct ?

Yes - you can't cherry pick the best elements of each program. You either take the lower incentive and higher residual or the lower residual and higher incentive. Can't have both.

Exactly. To add: The October numbers are better than the November deals. Yes, you will have a lower payment moving to 39 months, but in the long run (3 year lease) you will likely pay about $500 more

If you pay $500 more and get 3 more months, then that makes the 39 month term better.. Who wouldn't extend their lease for 3 months for only $167/mo.?

That said, the 3-series is leasing better than the 4-series at the moment, but if you want a coupe ...

Good point... although you will have to cough up another $300 for registration for the last 3 months.

Depending on where you live, it could be a lot more than that. Here in Colorado, we pay personal property tax on our vehicles along with the registration.

Yeah.. $25 for another year of registration, where I live.. And, you only pay property tax on a car that's registered to you on January 1st, so as long as you don't overlap, there is no penalty.

That said, I don't really like 39 month terms.... but, sometimes you have to take it to get the best deal.

300+ here in CA. It's brutal. Highly contemplating the 39 month deal (I am already locked in October's 36 month deal). Not a fan of 39's also, but paying $267/month for last 3 months is enticing (not to mention $25/month in savings). Having said that, There is also the potential of the loyalty program so I may be able to turn the car in 3 months early anyways.. Perhaps I can have my cake and eat it too ?

Hello, I have been considering a 2016 435 lease, but something seems fishy about the conversion from cap cost to lease. For about 58,000 cap cost, 39 mo lease w 12,000/year miles, they're telling me about 720/mo with no cap cost reduction down, taxes upfront. Assuming maximum multiple security deposits, what should the lease be? The numbers don't make sense to me, as I used to have a 2014 428 lease - totaled recently - 47,000 cap cost that was 480/mo lease (36mo, 12,000/year), nothing upfront, only taxes, maximum multiple security deposits. I would imaging that the price should be around 600/mo. why would a 23% increase in cap cost of the car lead to a 50% increase in lease price? something smells funny.

What is the MSRP if the cap cost is $58,000?

39/12 numbers for 435i are .00131 and 55%. With MSD, MF drops to .00082.

The more precise prices you can get me, the more accurate the payment calculation will be.

MSRP is the bottom number on the window sticker.

Assuming a 0.00082MF, 55% RV for 12k/39mo, down payment or taxes, they are getting a price of about $663 (after maximum multiple security deposits). Is that correct? Still seems like it should be around $600.

Those numbers give me a payment of $725/mo before tax.

That doesn't seem to be much of a discount from sticker; I suspect there is more of a discount if they are quoting you $663/mo.

Just figured out why the numbers were so different from my 2014 lease (Again, I had a 2014 428 @ 47000 cap cost with 12k/36mo w MSD, no down payment at 480/mo, so I didn't understand why a 23% rise in cap cost (58000) would equate to a 50% increase in the monthly lease (assuming the 725/mo value). The RV in 2014 was 63%. Now it's 55%. argh.

What would you say is the cap cost goal if trying to keep monthly lease at $600/mo? around 55,000? (assume maximum multiple security deposits, no taxes and nothing down except fees).

On a 39 month lease, every $1000 you can get off the selling price equates to about $26/mo reduction in the pre-tax payment.

Yep, BMW is good at artificially inflating the residuals to make for attractive lease payments.
