I have come across a loaded 2016 435i GC with 7,400 miles on it. I first saw it priced by the dealer at $54,000 and now it is dropping quickly to just over $50k. It is not CPO.
I would love to see if might be able to get a deal on it. I have never leased a used car before and have some questions:
1. What is the RV on something like this? 2. What type of further price reduction could I possibly get? 3. I would be looking to do a 3 yr lease with 15k a year. But if I can buy miles like I believe you can I would do 12k a year and then use my mileage reimbursement from work to offset any overage. Is that possible? 4. Why would this car not be a CPO? 5. Anything else I should ask or look for here?

Has this car been titled or not?
If not, then it still qualifies for new car lease terms, which are .00138 and 59% for 36/15. Both the selling price and the residual are adjusted for the miles it already has. You can only buy extra miles if you start at 15K per year. For new BMWs with 0 miles on them, I would shoot for a 7% discount from sticker.
If it has been titled and is not CPO (and, I'd certainly wonder why it isn't), we don't have any insight into used car lease programs.

The car had been titled. I obtained the car fax report on it. It was purchased and then sold at an auction where it was purchased by this dealer. I am guessing this is why it is not CPO, is that accurate?
I was told it is still considered "new" in terms of BMW leases.
Kelly Blue book for this car is around $53-54k, Any idea what amount a "deal" might be had or start start negotiating? I live in PA.

If it's been titled, it is not eligible for the new car lease terms.
If it is not CPO, then we don't have any information on lease programs that your dealer may use.
We don't track selling prices; use the "make / model / year" pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools.
It could be an executive demo or employee lease that the dealer bought at a BMW-dealer-only auction. In some cases those are eligible for the new car lease program. The 7400 miles likely reduces the residual by an extra $1850, so that is your floor. You want at least $1850 more off than you would pay for a brand-new model. Of course, you want more than that, or why get a car with miles on it?

In looking further at the Carfax report, it was sold initially as a "manufactuer vehicle" so I am guessing that is a demo or corporate car. I have actually come across another one just today, this is also a loaded 435i Grand Coupe but with 4400 miles on it. It started out with a listing of 56,000 which is also close to the KBB and now being offered at 50,500.
I have a month before I need a new car and am thinking of making some low-ball offers to see where they go. Both have been on the dealer lot for over 5 months so they are getting hit with floor plan interest as they wait most likely. Not sure where to start with that however.
Does BMW offer 24/10 or 48/10 lease as well? If yes, what would be the numbers for these terms?
.00138 and 68% for 24/10.
48 month term from BMW not viable.
Thanks!
I notice on BMW's special offer web page, http://www.bmwusa.com/bmw/special-offers/lease/2016-428i-Convertible, it's mentioned "and Luxury Package as a no cost option." -- what does this mean? Does this mean, in the example, the car is priced at the base MSRP, but will come with luxury package?

I'm going to guess that the luxury package is "included", unless the car is equipped with a different package that is incompatible with it. It probably means you could order the car without the luxury package if so desired (which is why they don't list it as "standard").

Ok. You all are amazing as always. All of the info and insight I have read here has been spot on. But I do have questions on a 2016 435i Grand Coupe, that has 7413 miles on it after coming off a corporate lease.
Here are the numbers I was given
3years/12k miles per / 3yrs/15k miles per MSRP - $60,545 / Same Cap Cost $48,500 / Same Residual % - 61% / 59% RV - $36,932.45 / $35,721 RV (Reduced for Miles) - $35,204 / $33,993 MF - .00158 / same

Advance Payment $582 / $618
Doc Fee $389 / $389
Upfront Fee $300 / $300
Other Upfront Fee $925 / $925
I know the MF factor is off from what I have seen here (.00138), is that a moving target? I was told lease would be through BMW FS.
The tax rate also looks way off, use tax in PA is 6% and then 3% for vehicle lease tax = 9%.
How about all of the upfront payments?
Any thoughts, ideas or help is very appreciated.
With your numbers, and the marked up MF, I get $547/mo for the 12,000 mile lease, and $598/mo for the 15,000 mile lease - both with 9% tax added in.
I would confirm the cap cost with the dealer.
And, using the base MF of .00138 shrinks your payment $19/mo for 12K, and $35/mo for 15K
Up front costs look to be in-line.
Thank you so much for the help. I had them change the usage tax to the correct number and negotiated a lower cap cost. I will pick it up on Thursday. My thanks again for all of the great work you all do.
Hi - this may be wrong forum (didnt see a 2017 one), but for custom orders which I think are now 2017s, do you have any residual and MF numbers for a 4 convertible (now 440) 36mo/15k? Thanks in advance

For July, what is the RV, MF and any incentives (e.g. fleet incentive) for 36//10, 36/12, 48/10, 48/12 for a 428i convertible and 440i convertible? RWD & X-Drive?
Also, does BMWFS have a MF reduction if using auto-pay?

.00137 MF and 62% residual for 36/12. There is no 440 convertible. It's a 435. Add 1% for 10K/yr.
BMW of Sudbury, MA is offering my sister a 2016 BMW 428i xDrive Coupe with the following options: M Sport Pack w/Saddle Brown/Venetian Beige/Coral Premium Package Navigation System Driver Assistance Package Cold Weather Package harman/kardon Surround Sound System with sales tax of 6.5% rolled in, $539/mo/36 mo./10k mi/$5000 due at signing. MSRP = $54,350
They have been pushing this specific car as opposed to the national 428i xdrive lease offer of $439 per month for 36 months. $4,364 due at signing 10,000 miles.
Is this a decent offer? It is optioned out better than the national lease deal cars so is the difference legit?
Also, what is the money factor for MA and the residual for this car?

Need to know the MSRP in the adjusted capitalized cost in order to model a payment. Also, what is the breakdown of the money due at signing?
May I please get the numbers on a 2016 428ix convertible and a 435ix convertible for 36/15? Do residuals change based on the packages/options selected? Are numbers out on 17 models yet and if so, do they differ for 16's?
Thanks in advance for your help educating all of us!

Hi
I got an offer from dealer for 2016 BMW 428i Gran Coupe, Blue ex with Bronw int. I calculate MSAP based on package it has.
MSAP: $49295
buying price after negotiate : $44517
term: 36 months
miles: 10000/year
total due at signing: (include everything): 6000 (they won't tell me the break down...)
state: NJ (7%)
monthly payment: $399/month
is this a reasonable price? they don't even list MSAP in their dealer website for this model..
Thanks
Thanks (I am the same person)
I think probably ~1000 fees and ~5000 downpayment?.. my understanding is: the more fees they include in 6K, the better the deal is, is that correct?
Yes. And, in NJ, the sales tax for the lease is collected up front and is probably also part of that $6K.
What's due up front:
$925 bank fee
?? dealer fee
?? taxes
$399 first payment
DMV and misc costs
Anything above that is being used as cap reduction.
Thanks!
It it turns out that cars is demo car and a car that give to people who send their car to repair.. It has 6000miles and MSAP is 51000 but they claims sales price is around 43000-44000... I am not sure if this is still a good deal or not.. I really like the car and the color btw.. But I guess I don't need to worry a lot about the car since I am leasing it anyway..
Comments
But, it has to be adjusted down to account for the demo miles. Will probably end up close to 59% in the end.

Many many thanks.
If not, then it still qualifies for new car lease terms, which are .00138 and 59% for 36/15. Both the selling price and the residual are adjusted for the miles it already has. I am not sure if this is still a good deal or not.. I really like the car and the color btw.. But I guess I don't need to worry a lot about the car since I am leasing it anyway..
