Found a 2016 535i xDrive with an MSRP of $68,895. Looking at a 10k/36 mth lease. Haven't spoken with them yet. I'd rather have a 528i xDrive, but this 535 has most of the options that I am looking for. Beyond the corporate $5k discount, is an additional $8k being too piggy?
My present dealer has a 535 with a MSRP of $64,795. They are offering an additional $5k off, beyond the corporate $5k. Unfortunately it does not have the options I desire.
Am I insane?
Thanks.
I don't know if you are insane. It can't hurt to ask. Seems unlikely you'll get 11%+ off, in addition to the $5000.
Hi! I've heard that BMW / BMWFS will lease low mileage CPO vehicles. Do you have details of this program? How is residual determined, for example? I'm looking at a 2016 535i with about 4400 miles. Since the dealer is advertising this as CPO Elite, I do not know the original MSRP, but the advertised price is $57,800. Thanks in advance!

We do not have any numbers for the CPO lease program. However, the CPO Elite may qualify for new car rates, as the number of miles is so low.
If this is the case (and I'm not 100% sure that it is), what lease term and how many miles per year are you looking for?

Thanks for the quick reply! I'd be looking at 36/10k or 24/10k. Is MSRP still needed to determine residual?

.00134 and 58% or 64%
Yes, the residual value is based on MSRP, the bottom line number of the window sticker.

Thanks again. Do you know if there some sort of mileage factor that effects the residual?

We thought it was a straight .25 per mile deduction, but we've heard from other posters that there is a new calculation for demo and loaner vehicles.
I'd suggest you check with the dealer for the particulars.
Hi there!! Thank you to all the moderators who help people on these forums.
So I am negotiating a lease because my lease is up this month. Can someone tell me if this is a good deal please? I am in New Jersey.
Car: 2016 528ix (DEMO with 7,000 miles)
Terms: 24 months, 12,000 miles per year. $3,700 (first month, DMV, taxes, and I'm assuming cap cost? No security deposit) $530 per month
MSRP: $48,995 (this is the window sticker on the car and what's on the website. They first tried to say the car originally went for $58,900 and that's the MSRP, which could very well be true when it was brand new on the lot).
Selling price: $45,568
Money Factor: .00164
Residual: 63%
Please note that I was approved with Tier 2 rates because of student loans that were out of hand a few years but have since been fixed, so I know that effects the MF as well.

Thank you so much in advance!!!
The $58,900 is the MSRP that is used to calculate the residual. $13K off that number is OK, given there is $5000 option allowance available.
I would get a complete breakdown of the up front monies - that's a lot if it doesn't include MSD.
Our recommendation is to limit the up front cash to just the first payment and DMV costs - add everything else into the lease.
Note also that the residual will be adjusted downward to account for the miles on the car.

Thank you for your response and for your advice. I just emailed him to ask exactly what the $3,700 is for. In the meantime, with the figures I originally posted, does the monthly payment look good? Thank you so much for your help, I wouldn't be able to do this on my own. Appreciate it a lot.

I get $488/mo with those numbers. Confirm the cap cost with the dealer - if higher than the $45,568 selling price, ask them what they've added.

So I heard back and he said the $3,700 includes $530 first month's payment, $1,017 for taxed, $179 for first year fees and $649 for cap reduction. Then there is a section for "other" which i am told is $925 aq fee and DMV fees. $530 and then your figure of $488 are quite different-I don't know what to do or how to approach

Either the MF is marked up from the .00164 they quoted you, or the cap cost is higher than what you've shared with us. They are the only variables in a lease calculation.
Hi All! Looking for MF & Residuals for a 2016 528i sedan in California. 10K miles / 36 months, loaner (8,199 miles on it)?
Also, thoughts on this offer I got yesterday:
"ok. If you like the 528 below then I can do $0 down and $0 drive offs 36 month lease and $432 + tax with 10k year. Also keep in mind that you still get the full maintenance on the 16's which includes brakes and rotors and if in fact the other car is a 2017 you will not get the brakes and rotors covered with BMW's maintenance plan since they did away with that on all 2017 models. Can we wrap this up today?"

Again, thank you so much for the moderators' help in these forums! So appreciated. I just got another offer from another dealership here in NJ. Here are the numbers I was given:
Car: 2016 528xi Demo car with 12,500 miles.
MSRP: $55,495
Final Price: $41,500
Money Factor: .00154 (Tier 2 approval)
Residual: 63% (but was told 5% lower due to miles on the car already so I guess 58%?)
Downpayment: $3,500, includes taxes, docs, fees, first payment and cap reduction of $450
Terms: 24 months, 12,000 miles per year, $450 a month.
Does this sound like the numbers make sense? Thank you in advance!

I agree with the Tier 2 MF and 24/10 residual.
I get $482/mo with those prices.
Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer - if higher than the $41,500, find out what's been added.
And, get a full breakdown of the $3500.
Your quote looks good, but it would be nice to confirm all the details.

Hi there!! Thank you for helping! So my salesman confirmed the adjusted cap cost at $41,500 and these are the details for what the $3,500 entails:
Cap Cost Reduction $544 (sorry I wrote 450 in earlier post ugh!)
1 month payment $450
Registration Fee NJ $305
Docs $400
Acq Fee/NJ Lux/ Sup Tax $870
Bank Fee $925
Does this quote still look good? I think it's pretty good for 24/12k but then again, you are the experts, LOL. I feel like 450 a month is pretty OK.

.00134 and 57%. $5000 option allowance, which is reflected in your low selling price.
Plugging in your MSRP and "Total Cash Price", I get $580/mo.
The only up front money we suggest is the first payment and DMV costs - keep everything else in the total price.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK KYFDX AND MICHAELL TAKING THE TIME TO POST MF'S AND RV'S ACROSS ALL MAKES AND MODELS. THIS HAS HELPED ME IMMENSELY CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS TOGETHER ON A SPREADSHEET TO DETERMINE WHICH VEHICLES OFFERED THE BEST LEASES FOR THE MONTH.
THE NICE THING ABOUT THIS DEAL IS I SPENT LESS THAN 15 MINUTES TALKING TO THE INTERNET MANAGER OVER THE PHONE AND ANOTHER HOUR SIGNING DOCUMENTATION
EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE VEHICLE AND CAN'T WAIT TO DRIVE THIS TO LAS VEGAS
WAITING FOR THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY THIS YEAR TO HOPEFULLY SCORE A GREAT DEAL LIKE THIS ON A MERCEDES OR BMW SUV
Could you share the dealer and person you dealt with?
Brand new to leasing, I would greatly appreciate your opinion and advice regarding what monthly payment I should shot for in the following deal:
New 2016 535i in Texas 36 months 12,000 miles
MSRP: $60,645 Selling Price: $47,900 Net Due After Products & Fees: $48,344 Sales Tax: $2,949 Total Cash Price: $51,293 Potential Cap Reduction "down payment": $2,000
Looking forward to hear from you, thank you!
.00134 and 57%. $5000 option allowance, which is reflected in your low selling price.
Plugging in your MSRP and "Total Cash Price", I get $580/mo.
The only up front money we suggest is the first payment and DMV costs - keep everything else in the total price.
Michaell, for the $580/month figure. Did you used my $2,000 cap reduction? For some reason the calculator I created following the edmunds instructions gives me $463/mo. Please advise, thank you!
I used the total cash price - I don't know if that included the $2000 or not.
Thank you for the quick response. Nope. The Total Cash Price does not includes the $2000.

If this is the case (and I'm not 100% sure that it is), what lease term and how many miles per year are you looking for?

Yes, the residual value is based on MSRP, the bottom line number of the window sticker.

I would get a complete breakdown of the up front monies - that's a lot if it doesn't include MSD.
Our recommendation is to limit the up front cash to just the first payment and DMV costs - add everything else into the lease.
Note also that the residual will be adjusted downward to account for the miles on the car.

On the surface, it looks good; but, the devil is in the details.
Dealer is correct about the maintenance items .. the program changed for the 2017 model year.

I get $482/mo with those prices.
Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer - if higher than the $41,500, find out what's been added.
And, get a full breakdown of the $3500.
Your quote looks good, but it would be nice to confirm all the details.

Cap Cost Reduction $544 (sorry I wrote 450 in earlier post ugh!)
1 month payment $450
Registration Fee NJ $305
Docs $400
Acq Fee/NJ Lux/ Sup Tax $870
Bank Fee $925
Does this quote still look good? I think it's pretty good for 24/12k but then again, you are the experts, LOL. I feel like 450 a month is pretty OK.

I'm looking at a new 2016 535i in California.
MSRP: 64455
Negotiated Price: 51375
Sales Tax is 8.75%
36mo/12k miles
0 down
0 MSD
They are quoting me $680/mo. Based on some lease calculators, this seems too high. What is the MF and Residual?
Thanks in advance!
