Hi
I would like to know what the lease cost should be on a 2016 X5 xdrive x50i

Msrp:81,200
Cap cost:76,400
Dwn pymnt :0
Acq fee:925
Dmv & doc:660
36/12,000
NYS tax:8.875(want to roll in to monthly pymt)
Will make 7 msd to reduce mf

Will pay Acq fee, Dmv, 1st mth, and msd at signing.

What will my due at signing be, and what will my monthly payments be.

.00134 MF and 57% residual. $1500 option credit. (.00085 after MSDs)

    $941/mo.+tax = $1032/mo.

    $1032
    $925
    $660
    $7350

    $9967 due a signing.

But, unless you are leasing from an out-of-state dealer, you can't do MSDs.

    Thanks for the fast responses.
I went to the dealer today, and this is the deal I worked.
    2016 X5 xdrive 50i
    Msrp: 82,445
Cap cost: 75,500 (1,500 option incentive inc) Dwn pymnt: 0
    Acq fee: 925
    Doc fee: 389
    Dmv: 330
    36/12,000 Mf: 0.00085 (after 7 msd's)/ 57% residual
    $908.60+ 80.63(nys tax)= $989.23/mo.
Due at signing $989.23 1st mo.
    $925 incep fee
    $389 doc fee
    $330 dmv
    $7000 msd's

    Total due at signing $9663.23
Any insight as to how good/bad a deal would be appreciated.
    Thanks
Ps: I ordered this X5, what seems to be the general build time and travel time to NJ dealer.

With your numbers, I get $896+tax. That's about $400 total difference.

Your deal is 6.5% off MSRP minus the incentive. That looks very fair for a new 2016 model.
MSDs are a smart move. $65/mo. back on a $7000 deposit is hard to beat.

If you roll in the taxes and acquisition fee, it's $997/mo., with just 1st payment and registration fees upfront.

Texas lease taxes are a killer.

There is no security deposit required on a BMW lease, if you have top tier credit.
You want the base money factor of .00134. Don't take any MF bumps in exchange for waiving security deposits or acquisition fees. That is almost always a bad deal. It sounds like they are trying to hide a money factor markup.

Want to know how far off this is for X5 xdrive 35i. I'm in Seattle. Here is what I asked for. 3 year lease or whatever the best available timeframe is. 10K miles. Minimum down. $65,820.00 MSRP according to website. Here is what I got for 36 month lease:

    Market Value Selling Price: $65,820.00
    Discount: $3,820
    Adjusted price; $62,000.00
    money factor of 0.00134.
BMW acquisition fee of $925.00 added to the cap cost.
    Residual of 58%
$1423.42 consists of first month payment, doc fee of $150, licensing of $369.
    Tax: $87.74
    NET PRICE: $62,606.74

    Monthly payment $904.42 inc. tax.
$1423.42 down payment consists of first month payment, doc fee of $150, licensing of $369

Where can I get them to trim this? How much over per month is this offer from what I should be paying?

    Thanks!

Assuming the tax rate in Washington is 10%, your numbers calculate out to a payment of $895/mo, so not far off from the dealer quote.

Two ways to reduce the payment -

    1. Negotiate a lower selling price
    2. Use MSD to buy down the MF .. more money up front, but you'll get the MSD monies back at the end of the lease

New to the website. Lots of valuable information.

Although there are no incentives on 2015 x5 models, do you think I can get a better lease deal (by lowering the MSRP) compared to 2016s?

I think it's possible. But, not knowing transaction prices, it's hard to say for sure. The lease programs are virtually identical, but if the selling price is low enough, the 2015 could be cheaper.

    Hey guys,

I want to know if this is a good deal.

    What should the lease cost be on 2016 x5 35i M-sport, 36/12k

    MSRP: 67,595
    Discount: 5,556 (including 1,500 incentive)
    Selling price: 62,039
    Adjusted Cap cost: 65,552.82
    Taxes (NYS- 8%)- 2,588.82
    Down payment- 0
    Acq fee- 925
    Registration fee- 150
Other fees- 145 (DMV I think)
    MF- 0.00144

Amount due at start- 1,195.54 (I'm not sure how they got this)

    Monthly payment- $900.54 (incl tax)

    ------
I will like to pay acquisition fee, DMV, and 1st month at signing.

    1) What should my lease monthly payment be?
    2) My dealership in NYS said that NYS does not allow MSD. Is this true?
    3) What is the base MF without MSD?

Thank you so much in advance!

    1) Their calculation is correct
    2) That's true. If you buy in NJ, you can use MSD
    3) .00134 is the base money factor. Using the base MF lowers the payment by $10/mo.

In the quote, they have rolled the $925 acquisition fee into the lease, and the registration and other fees are in the due at signing. (I just added up the numbers you provided).

Thanks fo your help. So if I pay the acq fee upfront and lower the mf to base, I should expect to pay about $40 less per month?

does it calculate to about $860 when this happens?

    thanks!!!

I like to roll everything in... paying it upfront doesn't really save you any money.

But, yes.. the base rate and paying the acq.fee upfront should drop the payment by about $40/mo.

Have another question regarding the same car.

I I was also thinking of possibly buying the car, and keeping it for about 3 years and then probably selling it. Would this be costly for me,

i have top tier credit score and would be eligible for very low finance rates 2%.

my only concern about leasing is when I return the car and they will likely charge me for small dings and I'll likely need to replace the tires.

thoughts?  Does the Residual value change monthly?  For example, right now it is 57%.

The numbers could change each month .. new numbers next week.

If your intention is to only keep the car for 3 years, leasing may be the better option .. you're only making payments on that part of the car you use. When you buy, you're making payments on the entire car, and there is no guarantee that there will be equity in it after 3 years.

Based on my calculations, there is about a $4000 difference after 3 years between buying and leasing. This is assuming about $1500 cost plus disposition fee when returning leased car. This is also assuming 57% residual after 3 years and assuming 36k miles after 3 years.
  • akashpcakashpc Member Posts: 9
I'm getting about 8.2% off msrp. Is this a good deal for a brand new 2016 x5 35i m sport.

    67,595- msrp

    62,039- discounted price

dealership is charging me 295 in fees.  This includes registration, title, plates, and doc fee.  Is this higher than expected?

    thanks.

If you are assuming the car is worth the exact residual at lease end, and that you can sell it for that... then, leasing will be more expensive, because of the fees. But, that's a big assumption. BMW is pretty well-known for their leases having unrealistically high residuals (which is good for the lessee). Also, have you ever tried to sell a $35K car on a private sale? Not easy.

And, if your tires are worn out after 3 years, you'll be paying for them on a lease, or if you sell it, one way or the other.

There is a $1500 incentive on this model. Once you back that out, the dealer discount portion is about 6% off MSRP. That's a fair deal, as invoice is around 7% off.

Doc fee in NYS is restricted to $75. Your total of $295 sounds about right.

Michaell, thanks very much for the quick response. Do you know what the mf would drop if doing max multiple refundable security deposits in NJ?
    7 X .00007 = .00049

    .00131 minus .00049 = .00082

Hmmm .... the 36/10 lease numbers on the X5 this month are .00131 and 55%. With your prices, I get $724.18/mo + tax.

And, there are $3000 of incentives available this month, not $2500 ($1500 option credit and $1500 loyalty credit).

How good a friend is this?

Well the price he gave me was before Nov 3rd. The $1000 certificate is from the UDE I did 5 months ago. wonder if I can combine all of them
    Pull Ahead
    $1000 certificate UDE
    $1500 rebate
    $1500 Loyalty program

When I go to Edmunds.com , the rebate is no longer there, just the loyalty, can you please verify ?

Sorry, I'm unable to verify the incentives.

Hi Michaell and all, Thanks for your prior response regarding the multiple refundable security deposits and the x5 deal.

The numbers I'm getting are as follows:
    2016 X5 35 xdrive
    $71,195 MSRP
    $65,640 Invoice (as per Edmunds)
    $1,500 loyalty program
    $1,500 rebate
    58% residual (36 months / 10k miles)
.00092 MF with multiple refundable security deposits ( !! this varies from the .00082 you calculated, please confirm should this be .00092 or .00082?)
    9% PA sales tax
First month and registration for inception.

My calculator gives me payments of $759.94, I negotiated with dealer to get it to $750.

Please advise/confirm on the multiple refundable deposit rate and viability of the deal. Thanks!
