"I'm not driving an inferior car to save that" is a little on the harsh side I think to be honest as I find nothing inferior about any Toyota to be honest. And really, haven't found much "inferior" stuff out there lately. Obviously this vehicle isn't your cup of tea just like doubtful I'd ever consider a Maverick or other Ford product, but would never call them "inferior" because they just aren't. Saving money on petrol never came into my thought process to be honest, I just want a reliable vehicle next time I do buy. I know that with any Toyota, Honda, Hyundai or Kia product, I'll get those two things I really want, so that's where I'm going to look. Sure, I'd love to own that Mini Cooper Countryman I drove at work this week but, don't think buying another German product is the right thing to do going forward. Could probably afford almost any vehicle out there but choose not to, I'm just not a high end vehicle driver.
Think we're just going to agree to disagree here on this subject. Don't think your statement was any kind of put down either, just that it was a little over the top. I buy what I like just like you do, that's as it should be. Did see both a new Maverick & Hyundai Santa Cruz yesterday like back to back, and think I'd go with the Santa Cruz if I needed such a vehicle. Like the styling, inside & out, a bit better so glad we have choices in the market place to choose from. Both vehicles seem to deliver on the smaller truck front so either one would make a great choice.

My 2018 accident showed up in CarFax quite soon after it happened but not surprised as there was major damage to it. To this day, I still here more outside road noise in the rear door behind me than I used to with the original one. Annoying at times but figured I'd get the run around if I made a big stink about it. Probably should've just trade it after it was all fixed but decided to wait a bit and here we are, just over four years later and still own it.
I did try to special order a Corolla Cross but was told they weren't taking orders. Guessing with the chip issues, they're not putting in the JBL audio system in many of them. Am sure it'll be easy to get one with the roof and the two tone black/white interior in the Windchill Pearl exterior I want, the JBL seems to be the sticking point right now. that one sales guy called it a "unicorn" last time we spoke and have not heard back from him yet. And assuming that dealer trades probably ain't happening in this market so I'll just sit & wait. And like a few others in here, I just won't pay those ridiculous "ADM fees" unless the same "fees" are used on my trade to up it's value which only seems fair to me. Don't think my Golf would sit very long on anyone's lot as it looks damn good when it's all cleaned up. And from what my co-worker says, it drives really nice also. Guess we get so used to our vehicles that we don't know how good...or how bad they really do drive. Really need an unbiased person to drive them & tell us flat out.
Regardless, having no issues waiting awhile longer. Just hope no "issues" crop up as we do wait! And if it's still in the garage by the end of June, it'll need another oil change as don't want to go past a year to be honest.

Whenever I see one of these it makes me wish Ford made a Vic or Marquis wagon out of the 92-97 design. I know by then it would have been a sales flop but cool piece.

Could you imagine a 92 Vic Touring as a wagon, that would have been a slick wagon (that no one bought lol)

Wasn't the original Explorer released in 1992? Between that and the minivans, no need for traditional wagons.

This post made me do a side by side comparison of the Toyota Canada and Toyota USA websites and I found some interesting variances.

Up here I can supposedly order a Cross XSE model in Windchill Pearl with the standard sunroof, JBL audio and Macadamia interior. It lets me configure one that way no problem and there are actually no factory options to select.

On the Toyota USA site the JBL system is an option. But (and this is strange) when you select that option, it is limited by paint color to only silver vehicles. And the Macadamia interior is shown as a choice but also as not available. Weird.

Was it a concept, or did C&D build it themselves as part of their "Boss Wagon" series?

In 92 with the Explorer coming and the other wagons Ford had zero reason to build a new Panther wagon from a business standpoint.

So the M4 I'm considering must have been custom ordered, it has BMW Individual paint, BMW Individual upholstery, and a BMW Individual leather dash.
Before my NCM left he ordered a 440i with almost every Individual option- it listed for $20,000 more than a regular M4. He did it to tweak the GM. I thought we'd need plastic explosive to move it over the curb, but one Saturday a guy showed up and bought an i8 and that 440i at full sticker.

Sandy, my comment probably did not come across the way intended. Nothing about a Corolla Cross (I have never even seen one). Just in general, prepaid maintenance is not something that matters much to me. Especially on a normal car like a Toyota (even an Acura) because routine service is just pretty much an annual oil change.

so saving $50-$60 a year is certainly nice, but not enough to get me to pick a car I like less over one I really want to drive.

I was all ready to import this AWD wagon, but the seller got back to me and informed me it is a Nov 1997 build, so not yet eligible for import. Comes with an SR20DET and this one has only about 40k miles. Sigh. Oh well.

Some years ago I was looking at an E92 335is at a Toyota dealer. The Carfax showed that it was a CPO. I called my SA at BMW and he confirmed that it was a CPO and that it would be recognized as such when I brought it in for service.

Stick, I figured that was what you meant with your comment and definitely get it. I completely forgot that Toyota now offers 2 years of maintenance on their new vehicles to be honest because like you, that amount of money won't make me not get what I really want. And this time, finally, am going to get exactly what I want and screw the cost. But as I've said a few times already, an "ADM fee" is just not something I'm going to pay just because they add it on. Call that fee whatever you want, it's just another fee to gouge us customers in this bad period, and I won't pay it unless they up the amount of the trade-in the same amount, or very close. One day this awful period will end and many of us won't forget what happened. Guess if my situation were different, I'd have to pay whatever fees there were but, I can wait to do this, as am in no hurry to do anything. Just with all these health issues I'm going through, want something just for me to enjoy.
Hopefully, I'll be able to get the "unicorn" I'm looking for but if not, can go with a different color, as the JBL audio is a must have option for me. As I've said before, the roof isn't that important though I like having one as do use it when the weather is nice down here.

Sandy...I believe someone should get what they want and it's nobody else's business. I do wonder though why the upgraded audio is so important to you since you only drive about 7 or 8 miles a day. You seem to be limiting what you can buy because of that.

So I have a few questions for you 4Xe veterans. I drove home and around town in ESAVE mode yesterday. The battery charge was at 0% when I took delivery. Driving around and getting used to using 1 pedal, I got the battery range up to about 40%. Plugged it in late last night. This am it was 90 something percent charged. I drove from my house to the highway in ELECTRIC, then switched to ESAVE when I got on the highway, then back to ELECTRIC when I got off the highway.

Is there a limit on how fast you can go on ELECTRIC only? I feel like I should somehow use my 25 ish ELECTRIC miles every day.

Is there a limit on how fast you can go on ELECTRIC only? I feel like I should somehow use my 25 ish ELECTRIC miles every day.

I don’t know that its a speed limit in electric but its just based on what is needed based on your throttle input. For example, I was in Electric mode and wanted to pass someone going up a hill. My throttle input caused the ICE to kick in.

I use hybrid when on the highway and electric if its just my usual around town errands.
