I'm interested in leasing a 2017 Mercedes C-300 Sport Sedan in California and was wanting to know if these numbers of this quote look correct. I'm somewhat close to the numbers I would like to agree to, however I was wanting to know if there were any categories that I could negotiate or talk down to help get my payments a bit lower. This is what he quoted, but I plan on rolling the acq and doc fees into the monthly. Thanks!!

Assuming this is RWD, the MF is marked up .00020 - the base rate this month is .00121.

The MF markup is costing you about $17/mo, after tax.

And, the acquisition fee is marked up, as well - base fee is $795.

The doc fee in CA is capped at $80.

If I add the acq fee of $795 to the selling price, and use the base MF, I get a payment of just over $547/mo

Ask the dealer for the full breakdown of the $2268 in drive offs - first payment, acquisition fee, and DMV costs? Anything else?

Thanks for getting back to me. This is what the internet sales manager sent me for the breakdown of the driveoff. 

$1095 acq fee

$80 doc fee

$539.35 first payment

$91.06 tax on acq fee and doc fee

$462.75 DMV fees.

Those numbers look right. (acquisition fee marked up from $795)
With your marked up money factor, I get a payment of $496/mo.+tax, which is pretty close, if your tax rate is around 9.2% (looks like it might be a little lower than that, though).

With the base MF, the payment would drop about $17/mo.
With the base acquisition fee, your out of pocket would drop by about $340/mo. (coupled with the lower payment with base MF)

Finance office gets commission on those upcharges, so those are hard to negotiate out.. Might be easier to get them to drop the price to compensate.

Now that you know the numbers, and what you are paying for, you can always negotiate monthly price.
Tell them you want $520/mo. with $2000 due at signing, and see what happens.

Usually there is a mileage charge for loaners, deducted from the residual. Likely between .15-.25 per mile; confirm the rate with the dealer.

I get $467/mo.+tax, which looks about right, assuming the title/DMV are part of the $1055 due upfront.
The acquisition fee is marked up by $300, but considering the big discount, it looks like a good deal.

This is a rusnak dealer.

That's not really a lease quote.. It's a purchase quote. Then, a lease payment disclosed, but with none of the figures or amounts you need to reconcile it with the purchase quote.

Acquisition fee is imposed by the bank; the base rate is $795, though many dealers mark it up

The dealer service fee is pure profit for the dealers. Mitigate that amount with a lower negotiated price.

Plugging the numbers into the spreadsheet, it appears we should be closer to $525 even with those numbers. Does that sound about right? And that's without further negotiation of the price.

Yes.. they were likely marking up the money factor, as well.
Florida is a sucky place to negotiate a car deal.

You can't get lower than the base MF that we quote. Any attempt by the dealer to mark it up can certainly be negotiated. And, yes, you should always ask for the MF being used.

They came back with a better deal, however they said the residual is 54%, instead of the 57% you indicated. They said that it is a set number. Is this true? Could it have changed? However, they haven't been able to give the MF at all. That they have to speak to someone higher up....this is so difficult!
