    MSRP: $49,175
    Selling price $44,651
    Doc Fee $172.15
    sales tax $2803
    plates $221
    less incentive $1500

    Total out the door $46,347.15

    36 month lease
    10,000 miles per year
    $610.26 (includes tax)
    residual is 57% or $28,029.75
    money factor is .001130
required due is 0 cap reduction, first months payment, plates and doc
acq fee is $795 which is included in the monthly payment

total out of pocket is $1003,41

adj cap cost: $46,198, tax is 6.25%

the monthly payment should be around $550 from what I calculated, why is there a $60 difference?

I get $625/mo with tax, using those numbers.

Dealer quote is in the ballpark.
so I plugged in MSRP: $49,175 and selling price: $43151 into this https://leasehackr.com/calculator/, this gives me $556 (acq fee in monthly payment)
You've got to use the adjusted cap cost, not the selling price. The acquisition fee has to be added to the selling price if you're including it in the payment.

And, you quoted the selling price as $44,651 - why are you using $43,151 in the calculator?
Also, there is a independent sales tax field and acq fee field, so I use selling price $43151 in the selling price field
Does the calculator add the acq fee to the selling price, or assume that it's paid up front.

That's why I distrust on-line calculators - they make assumptions that may not be correct.

I use a home grown spreadsheet, so I can control all the variables.

there is an independent field for acq fee, doc fee and plates, etc. You can choose to pay it upfront or not, you can just take a look, https://leasehackr.com/calculator/, I think this calculator is pretty straightforward, just don't why is there a $50 difference!

Also, could you please take a look of this deal?

demo car: MSRP was 48,850 with 5500 miles, now 39,900 with bal. of warranty until 09-30-20, good?

As I mentioned earlier, they are not willing to budge on the selling price, so I'm looking for your guidance on whether this is a good deal or not and if the numbers add up.
I'm confused - what number is the dealer basing their payment off of - the $46,457 or $47,837? The second set of numbers look to be more oriented to a lease quote (capped taxes looks about right, and there is the acquisition fee accounted for). .00108 and 61%, less, I think, .25/mile for the demo miles ($2075) Need to know the true cap cost to run the payment.
I asked your question to the dealer, and this was their response: "Based off the selling price vs the residual times the money factor is how the payment is calculated."
That didn't answer the question you asked - ask them, specifically, what the adjusted cap cost is. Their answer should be a number. If they continue to be opaque, it's likely time to find another dealer.
Just asked again, they said cap cost is $46,456.72 however, they keep terming it "total cap cost"- is that different than adjusted cap cost? They said it's the same thing.

On a demo car, the residual is manually adjusted to account for the miles already on it.

Therefore, adjust your selling price accordingly? Not likely for you to see 18% off a new unit with 0 miles on it.

That looks like a really strong payment, relative to MSRP.

Thanks for checking! I have a few more questions:

    1. Do the numbers add up considering 61% residual, and .00108 MF?
    2. Based on your calculation, is tax included in the $516/mo?
    3. Would you consider this a good deal given that it is a demo with 8,000 miles?

The dealer mentioned that I'd have to pay a $595 disposition fee upon return of the car at end of lease. They said they can wave this fee if I decide to lease or purchase another Mercedes at the end. Is this a standard fee Mercedes dealers charge at end of a lease?

    .00108 and 61%, less, I think, .25/mile for the demo miles ($2075)

Need to know the true cap cost to run the payment.

I get $512 using those numbers (plugging in their residual value). Quote of $516/mo looks pretty solid.

Thanks for checking! I have a few more questions:

    1. Do the numbers add up considering 61% residual, and .00108 MF?
    2. Based on your calculation, is tax included in the $516/mo?
    3. Would you consider this a good deal given that it is a demo with 8,000 miles?

    1. Yes, less the residual deduction for the miles
    2. Yes
    3. Can't answer that; I don't spend other people's money :sunglasses:

But if you were in my shoes, would you jump on this deal? Or continue shopping around at other dealers?

See my answer #3 - if you're comfortable with the selling price, all looks good.

Can you tell me your thoughts on this deal i got for a 2017 C300 coupe 4matic . I want to go with the 36/12k NO down payment option. They are offering me $688.47 a month with $1000 down. With autopay payments goes down to $669.

Trying to pull the trigger tomorrow.

I already told the dealer he needs to take off another $3000 of the sale price. I personally want the payments to be around $570 which means at least an additional $3000 off. currently they are taking 9% off MSRP .

First time posting, not sure if the picture of the written deal showed or not.

What state is this? There are only a handful of states that applies sales tax on a lease to the entire selling price.

For your reference, NY taxes the sum of the payments and collects that money up front. You can pay them at lease signing, or choose to roll them into the monthly payment.

Ok just got numbers. They added the prepaid maintenance and garmin chip to the cap cost total, as well as $795 acquisition fee. They also added to msrp to residualize. Final numbers are 559$/mo with 936$ drive off(1st pymt, mv fees).

    Msrp 48,036
    sale price 42,116

    How'd I do?
