Those are the 2016 numbers ... numbers are slightly different for the 2017 model year.

.00138 and 53% for 36/10

It's my understanding that the warranty coverage and terms are the same; BMW is simply changing the terms of the free maintenance from 4 years, 50,000 miles to 3 years, 36,000 miles.

I went to BMW dealership today, and it turns out the maintenance program is now 3 yr, 36k and it only covers oil changed. No tires, brakes, wipers, etc... like before. bummer

That is correct for all 2017 BMW models.

The current BMW program is in effect until 6/30/16. So, new numbers in July.

Doesn't mean that they'll change - we didn't see any changes from May to June.

Individual packages or options do not affect the numbers.

Question on the $3500 lease credit - how does that work? Do you negotiate the adjusted cap and then subtract $3500 from that? or should i expect that the $3500 is already included in the negotiated adjusted cap? thx

I would assume that any offer from the dealer would include the $3500, but you want to get your best price, then apply the credit.

For 2017 X3 x drive, 3 year 45,000 mile lease, one dealer quoting residual of 52% and a different dealer quoting 50%. Is either one of them right? Thanks

50% is correct for 36/15.

52% would be for 36/12.

Selling price = $56,745 (neg price $57,745 less $1000 Corp fleet discount)

Cash Cost Reduction of $5000 ($3461.51 cap reduction, balance 1st month + taxes, etc)
Gross Cap Cost = $58694.00 (waiting for breakdown of this)

I'd be interested in seeing what else is in the Gross CAP, as well. It's $1949 more than the selling price. $925 for the acquisition fee, but what is the other $1024? Looks like you are already paying the doc fees and licensing out of your $5000 upfront.

With the Net CAP, I get the same number they do. But, looks like $1000 unaccounted for.

That's why I don't like big numbers upfront. Just pay the first payment and non-taxable government fees. That also gives you a truer picture of the actual monthly cost of your vehicle.

kyfdx - sorry, I reduced the selling price by the $1000 but not the gross cap cost. Here are the revised numbers:
Sales Price - $56,745
Gross Cap Cost - $57, 670 (just added the $925 for acq fee)
Cap cost reduction - $3483.73(Balance from the $5k down paid the 1st month, license, doc, and taxes)
Adj Cap Cost - $54,186.27

Payments = $567.14 + tax $48.21 = $615.35

And yes, I always look at the total monthly/annual cost once I added up all the payments and down payments. Total = $25,417.04, or about $706/month actual cost.

Anyway, feel like it is pretty reasonable. Not adding all the protection services they try to add on, so that will be it. Our 2013 X5 was about $900/month for 36 month/10K lease.

Multiple Security Deposits - can be used to buy down the MF and lower your payment. The beauty is, you get that money back at the end of the lease.

Each security deposit is the monthly payment rounded up to the next $50.

Each security deposit lowers the MF by .00007; maximum 7 are allowed, total MF reduction of .00049

I was told by a NY BMW dealer that if I lease a BMW from a NJ dealer, I will have to purchase gap insurance because acquisition fee does not include gap insurance in NJ. Is this true? Thank you.

Not a good deal. Aim to lower your monthly payment by at least 20 dollars or 50 dollars with 7 MSD. BTW, make sure you get .00020 MF deduction from your Corp fleet program.

That is not true. I never had to pay for it. NY dealers are worried because if you lease from a NJ dealer, you can use multiple security deposits.

Agreed; NY dealers are at a disadvantage because of this. Guess some are willing to use any tactic to retain business.

Which is a shame since I live near the NY State line and there is a BMW dealer close buy. I can't even consider a lease from them since I always use MSDs.

Smart move Driver's Assistance Plus. It is such a fantastic safety feature that everyone should get. I have it in both my BMWs but yet there isn't much demand for it and I can't understand why someone would skimp on something that could be a life saver.

I am not sure, the acquisition fee is 925. Tax rate is 8.875% in my area.

I will only pay first month payment, documentation and DMV fee upfront. My own calculation shows my monthly payment should be around 520. Anyway, I was very satisfied with my purchase experience at the dealership.
