I am discovering that dealers in my area are not passing some of their "$1000 Lease Cash" on to lower the selling price. Three dealers have quoted sell prices I was getting just before the dealer incentive came around. What is up with this?

It's a dealer incentive. They quote prices that they think will sell cars.

Understood but it's worthless if they don't play the game. I'm fine as I can beat them up anyway for the price I want- it's just more work for me when they scarf the full incentive.

Lots of Acura dealers out there ... only takes one to meet your numbers without too much of a hassle.

Dealers will be dealers and my experience has been the $1000 lease cash incentive changed little as far as selling price goes. Same now as it was then including the "hassle" as you put it. This is my 5th MDX lease and, for good or bad, the discount hasn't changed much.

I am currently leasing a 2016 base 36/12k (leased in May 2015) with a payment of $460 (0 down). The car currently has 34k miles and the dealer offered me max $31k for it while my buy out right now is $31.5k.

They also offered me to turn it in early and get into another lease before I hit 36k allowed miles. I don't remember the numbers from when I leased the car but does $460 a month sound like a good deal? I'll be going to the dealer tomorrow to see if we can do an even trade or get a better deal. thanks in advance!

I can see that the sales tax shows $0 in the capital cost itemization otherwise that would have added another $2458 to the total, making my monthly payment $533. I showed up with an advertised lease offer of $450 per month during Memorial Day and we went back and forth many times until he got the monthly payment to $460. Guessing the fleet manager I was working with messed up and didn't include any taxes. And in that case I am not going to get the same deal from them now. Or am I missing anything?

Residuals aren't nearly that high now. But, a bigger discount could make up for it. Seems unlikely you'll get that payment, again.

Time to give my 2004 MDX base AWD to my daughter. Has been very reliable and currently has 185k - needs third set of struts/shocks, otherwise runs like new. Want to lease for my first time (Bought a 2014 RDX, but feel it's already dated technology-wise. Don't want that to happen again, so leasing...) Looking for NYC metro lease numbers for Base AWD 36/10k and 36/12k.

Numbers look pretty ugly so far in this forum for the hybrid - i know it's hard to predict, but any sense that the MF and residual will look closer to the non-hybrid? Wasn't sure if it's just b/c it's so new. Thank you

At the moment, the MF is high because it's new and popular. Could it drop? Sure - but, no idea when.

It's likely that those 8 remaining payments are being added into your new deal somehow.

Ask the dealer for the "adjusted cap cost" - this is the selling price plus all the fees and such that you aren't paying up front.

And, I'm also guessing that the $2000 is not "down payment" but "up front cash" to cover the up front costs (acquisition fee, first payment, DMV costs, etc.). Ask the dealer for a specific breakdown of that money.

Ok so if I get a complete breakdown for the 2k cash at signing I'm bringing in, and it includes all fees (I mean money that isn't going towards more of the lease payment), is this a good deal? Or do you think some of the 2k cash is being used towards the lease vs fees? They haven't given me a breakdown of the 2k yet, he just briefly over the phone told me for "things like first payment and DMV". Which part isn't making sense and what do I need to be asking

Thanks to the help from this forum I leased a 17 SH-AWD Advance yesterday. I appreciate that very much.

With regard to poster above and his 8 mos early termination, Acura has a good lease program for returning lessees. They waive certain over mileage and let you carry over unused miles. I have a couple of buddies that have leased multiple MDXs, and typically what happens is after about 2 years into a 3 yr lease, to move more new cars the dealer will call and roll them into new vehicle, often at a lower payment.

Reducing the cap cost to $47,104, I still am at $539/mo before tax.

I can't see how they are getting to $489/mo, but if that's what is on the paperwork, I'd sign.
