No I meant with regards to the taxes of $17.37. There doesn't seem to be any other then the monthly lease payment and that just doesn't sound right but I'm not really sure.

Oh, wait. You're buying the car from a NC dealer but you live in VA?

NC taxes the monthly payment at 3%, but you may need to contact the departments of revenue in both states to sort this out.

At some point, VA will want their sales tax. If it isn't collected up front, I'll go on record saying they'll want it when you go to register the vehicle in VA.

So I was shopping around and looked at a dealer in VA (I live in NC) but now I may be getting a better deal in NC so all is good.

So, no sales tax if leased in NC they just tax the monthly lease payment.

Yes, 3% sales tax applied against the monthly payment in NC.

Can I ask about the bizjeff2 deal just mentioned. If the taxes and bank fee are rolled in what would the monthly payment be? I'm trying to compare my deal with the one you got. I'm also leasing a 2017 AWD Advance and my payment looks to be $643/mth. I would rather have your deal:)! I'm in NC.

NY handles lease tax differently than NC. NY taxes the sum of the payments and collects that money up front. It can be paid at lease inception or added into the selling price.

Just coming off a 2015 Acura TLX lease. Looking for MF/Residual %/incentives on 2017 MDX base and SH/AWD models 12K miles/36 months in New Jersey. I have already received the following quote on the SH/AWD model which definitely seems high in comparison to others seen on here. What should I ask dealer for to breakdown the deal?

Basically a 0 down deal like you did last time.
10k miles year 575 month x36
12k miles year 589 month x36

$1750 lease cash on base models.

Ask for the MSRP and selling price. Also, the adjusted CAP cost.
Then, a reconciliation of the difference between the selling price and adjusted CAP cost. That's where the crap gets hidden.

Just got back from the Acura dealer in central NJ. I am trying to lease a 2017 MDX tech package , 36k, 15k miles per year. MSRP is around 51k. What should be the residual value and MF? Dealer tells me the residual value to be 54%, which sounded low when I checke previous posts. Also are there any incentives which I can use to calculate lease? 

While using Edmunds lease calculator, if I use 54% as residual value and default money factor (.00125), with 12k trade in value, I get $268/month lease payment. I didn't put in acquisition cost. Am I in the ball park or way off?

Also, isn't 2k incentive coming from directly from Acura itself? So the dealers should be able to take off 2k over your final negotiated price? 

If I get the tech pa lags down to 46K (msrp being 51k), then selling price becomes 44K??

We would need to know the adjusted cap cost in order to model a payment.

We do not recommend using trade equity to buy down the payments - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money

Yes, negotiate your best price, then subtract the $2000

Add the sales tax and acquisition fee into the payment. Only up front costs should be first payment and DMV costs

Yes, get a check back from the dealer for anything left over after that.

Also taking care of remaining 4 payments of current lease.
Due at signing - first month and mv.
