Could you help me to figure out how lease price should change when MSRP of the vehicle goes up?
I was quoted $320/mo for vehicle X. How much lease price should go up, if MSRP of the vehicle Y is $1500 more? Assuming, all other variables are the same. 10k/36mo. 320xdrive.

It would be the $1500 x residual value, divided by the lease term.

Yes, plus rent charge.

Every $1000 on the cap cost will result in about $28/mo, before interest and tax. (1000 / 36)

Hi! Trying to understand how a rebate would work with taxes. Here is the deal I'm being offered, but not quite sure how the taxes would end up (I'm in NC), so can't figure out their math. Great dealer, BTW, they showed me their MF right away.

Rebate $1500 (from where I'm employed)

If it's a consumer rebate, it's usually taxed. If it's just a bigger discount, then no tax.

Nothing down besides first months payment and MSDs.

They wouldn't budge on the doc fee - not sure if that's typical for a BMW dealer or if that amount is normal.  Any other feedback?  Thanks!

If I add in the $1225, I get $479/mo.+tax. ($51,450 adjusted CAP cost).

Don't know your state or tax rate, but that looks to be a little less than your quote. Of course, I don't see any title/registration fees in there. Ask for the adjusted CAP cost, and see how it differs from your sale price, and what might be included.

Doc fees vary in states where they are not regulated.

Located in Seattle. Can someone confirm that as of March 2017 the MF and Residual (10K/12K) for a 2017 330i xDrive Wagon?

I've gathered that MF for March is .00140. Will a dealer always be forthcoming and provide you the "actual" MF, or am I going to to have to negotiate with them and tell them "I know" what the real MF is?

Don't negotiate the MF - simply tell them you won't sign a deal where the MF has been marked up. They know the base rate.

MSRP: $53,120 (included Luxury, Technology, Cold Weather and Driver Assistance packages plus metallic paint, dakota leather, 18 inch wheels, Apple Car Play, Wireless and Harman Kardon sound system)

Rhode Island Sales Tax: 7%

Monthly Payment: $551

I've never heard of a "capped" MSRP for BMW. Other brands do this (Jaguar, Land Rover and Porsche).

Yes, MF was marked up, but negotiating a bigger discount offset that. We're seeing this more frequently - dealers either give a small discount and base MF or a big discount but inflated MF.

Be polite and tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. They know what the base rate is.

You should get a MF of .00071 (.00140 - .00049 (MSD) - .00020 (fleet))
