if any of you guys check back here - would love to know what sales price / discount you are getting on 2017s.
Are there many at dealers?
In Texas, I am getting a max discount of 3k with that low money factor and if they give me a bigger discount they apply a money factor of 0.00222 which is extremely high but the difference usually is in cents or some dollars. I have been looking since November and cant get any dealer in Texas to make a deal with me. GTI leases are extremely bad.
Wait, am I reading that right, 4 zero's? Less than a dollar a month money factor? So with at MSRP of 29,915 for a Sport and a 17,949 residual (36mo) x .00001 (=.53 finance charge) we're looking at payments of ~332/mo?? With TrueCar guaranteed discounts there's another $4K off, so it gets even better at $221/mo (minus tax)
Sounds too good to be true, someone check my math? haha

Yes, 4 zeroes.
Yes, almost free money.
I'd check on those discounts, as some of them may not apply to a lease situation.
2017 GTI Sport Lease 36 months/10k per year MSRP-$30,365 Sale Price with partner program-$26,760 $1000+ 1st payment and title fees out of pocket=$@$1900 total @469/ month
This is with $5200 negative equity. Sounds like a good price? I am trying to get the MF they are using.
That said, I'd suggest you restructure the deal so you only pay first payment and DMV costs out of pocket - roll all the other items into the deal. Payment will go up, likely to around $275-300/mo, but your out of pocket will be under $1000.
CA taxes the monthly payment on a lease; what taxes are you paying up front?

Thanks. You're suggesting rolling the down into the monthly payments? Leaving only first payment and drive-off on signing?
Not sure what taxes are being paid.
Do you think there might be room for negotiation on price, given 2018 models are arriving at the dealers now?

Yes, down payment and any taxable fees (acquisition fee, for one) should be part of the monthly payment. There are taxes on the fees and the $2000 down payment, at the very least. Check with your dealer for details.

I wouldn't worry about above or below "invoice" - just try to get your best price.

Hi guys, just wondering if there are new numbers for Feb? Im looking at a 17 gti Se 36mo 15k in Arizona. Thanks

Yes, the dealer gets that cash; use the knowledge to negotiate your best price.
Hello. I would like to negotiate down the dealer's initial cap cost offer of $33,500 to lease a 2017 GTI Autobahn DSG. MSRP: $35,630 Invoice: $34,777 Any guidance on a good counter offer?

i got a quote for 2017 GTI S AT, in 91733 For lease, 36/12 MSRP $27637 Selling Price $22372 (is this a good start?) I asked the guy RV, he told me 48%, im paying 52% of the car. does this sound right? isn't it we usually paying 40% of the value over 3 leasing years? what is the current MF? thanks a bunch.
.00001 MF and 51% residual for 36/12 $800 lease cash Looks like a pretty good selling price... but, what was the payment quote?
Update: Tier 1 credit 36/12 0 down $312/mo tax included does this sound good? im thinking the payment could go down more.

this is in southern california cap cost 26560
So, it doesn't look like the sale price they gave you was valid for a lease? That's over $3000 higher than the sale price. I'm not surprised, though.
But, overall, $312/mo. is not bad for that car.. You can push for lower, but not sure you'll get it.
