What the heck is "capitalized Initial Fees?" I've never seen that in CA.
    And tax on collected items?

Looking closer, I guess it's the first payment and tax on the rebate and up front money?

Whenever I've leased a Lexus, total fees have been in the 1500-1600 range including DMV and acquisition fee.

Update: Ok, I must've misunderstood- looks like the rebate is being calculated in addition to the initial discount - this appears to be a great deal. To compare, the Lux pkg in my sig was msrp 47015, 36/10, $1k at signing, 423 a month incl 7.75% sales tax. If you are at 428.71 incl tax with zero at signing, that appears to be a very strong deal. How's the car equipped?

pretty much fully equipped I believe. Navi package. Moonroof. blind spot monior. premium package w/ wood trim, parking assist, rear spoiler, etc.

So then should we go for it? I like it except the interior color. It's gray.

Absolutely- $10k off msrp (22%) on that car is a killer deal - extremely low money factor taboot! If you've settled on the ES and it's equipped the way you want, I think you'll be happy if you pull the trigger. I like the gray interior but not my wife - she always wants the black.

Let us know how it goes.

Just saw your post over in the Accord discussion - Don't misunderstand - I am a big Honda fan and the touring is a great vehicle - but give it serious thought before choosing an Accord over the ES if the payment difference is not that great. The ES350 is far and away a much better vehicle.

The main issue here is my husband and I can't decide on a vehicle. That's why you saw my post in the Accord discussion. I posted in Prius discussion as well. LOL. We've had ES before, so that's why I think they gave us a good deal on this vehicle. But on the same token, this new ES is exactly the same as the ES we had before, so we are little hesitant since we want something new. Thank you for your input.

I understand - both are great vehicles - what year ES did you have? We had a 2013 and this 2016 we have now is a better vehicle than that one - seems more refined and quieter. You're doing the right thing by doing your homework so gonna have a great vehicle no matter which way you decide. The Lexus does have the better incentives and a much better money factor at the moment.

I have a question on how Lease Cash works. It appears that Lexus has a $3000 lease cash incentive in my area. I requested a sales quote from my local dealer through their website (I never mentioned anything about a lease). They came back to me with a quote on a '17 ES 350 w/premium pkg and navigation for $38,900 (MSRP $45,985). This was a straight quote with no breakdown, but I assume that quote is before fees and taxes. My question is, if I told them that I want to work a lease off that quote, would they then subtract the $3000 lease incentive from the cap cost (reducing my total cap cost even further) or would they come back and say that since the quote was already so low the incentive was somehow already factored into that price?

The posts made by dengel81 indicate she received a quote that factored in a total discount of more than $10k which consisted of a normal discount and lease cash added together. The car is configured very similar to the one you describe with approximately the same msrp. She is being offered an extremely good deal but this is the Southern CA area where there are many Lexus dealers and keen competition. Based on your user name, are you by any chance located in GA? If so, my understanding is that sales tax on a lease is collected on the entire selling price - almost makes leasing not a great idea.

You can assume that any quote from the dealer will include the lease cash. Use the knowledge to negotiate your best price - read back through the last few pages of this thread to see what others have been able to negotiate.

Exactly the reason it's good practice to be very precise and specific when requesting quote information from dealers. In this particular case, the poster did not request a lease quote so I'm not so sure we can assume the lease cash is involved in the quote. This is obviously something the poster will need to get clarification on when he/she decides whether to move forward with the vehicle shopping process.

I seriously doubt the dealer will, on the first pass, knock $7k off the price of the car then say, upon being asked, "Oh! We didn't know you were leasing! Here's another $3000 of discounting"

I agree with you Michaell - I'm just saying most doubts can be removed if, when requesting a quote, the shopper structures the quote request in such a way that it forces the dealer to provide honest info that is not misleading. Hopefully, the poster who originally posed this question will come back to get the benefit of your info. Like you, after doing this a long time, I'm already aware of many of the things dealers do to gain the upper hand over customers.

Agreed - if you expect transparency from the dealer when getting the numbers, you must also be transparent when making your requests to the dealer. When there isn't clear communications between the parties, problems arise.

I am looking to lease a 2017 ES 350 luxury package and navigation with an MSRP of $46,000 in Dallas. I am being quoted ~ $15,500 One Pay for 36/12K and $16,300 One Pay for 36/15K, all inclusive. Is this a good deal? What is the expected MF and RV? Thanks.

    Hi,

Can you let me know the Lexus ES 350 MF, Residual Value for 36/12K miles in NJ? Also, are there any lease promotions in NJ for labor day?

    Thanks,

Michaell and/or kyfdx will probaby weigh in on the MF and residual but to give you something to use for comparison, our 2016 Lux pkg, msrp 47015, 36/10, comes to 15,875 (not a one pay). Based on that, I would think the $15.5k deal with 15k more miles sounds pretty decent.

Thank you dengel81 for your input. To add to the information I have already provided, the price of the car is discounted by 20% from the MSRP.

    Residual value is 50%
Not sure that one-pay saves you much money, as the money factor is only .00020.

We'd have to know selling price and adjusted CAP cost to comment on the price.
Considering the high lease taxes in Texas, those look like good prices, though.

    Hi,

I got a quote for Lexus ES350 in NJ with premium package and navigation 12 K miles and 39months lease and 50% residual value.

    Msrp: 46,164 including handling $995

    Sale price: 41,404

i had to pay $449 (first month payment) and $1350 security deposit fully refundable.

i got it for $449 per month 39 months with 50% residual value. IS it a good deal?

    Thanks,

Is there any money due at signing other than the MSDs?

Guessing the lease cash and 449 first payment being applied is getting you to the $40,568?

By $995 handling, are you referring to destination charge?

Update: had to do some guessing without all the info, but assuming around an 8500 discount including lease cash, my calculation comes out to the 449 you state in your post. About an 18.5% discount off msrp - seems like a pretty decent deal. Have you seen any other local deals you can compare it to?

You might already be aware of this - if, for some reason, you're not able to find a deal quickly, Lexus Finance will allow you to extend your current lease on a month to month basis - it just takes a phone call - pretty convenient. Good luck with your search.

From what I can find out, sounds like they limit it to one 6 month extension - probably worth a call to see if it's possible to go a few more months, especially if you're staying with Lexus.

Using about 1800 in fees rolled in and same discount you listed, I calculate around 437 a month using 9.25% tax rate. Not sure how you're getting 398 with zero drive off.

    Net cap cost of 34450.

Be sure to include 700 acquisition fee and first payment in the capitalized fees.

    I put MSRP 40150, Sales price 36500, Untaxed Incentive 4000, 0 drive off, MF 0.00020, RV 53%.
I don't know if I did it right or not..

Thank you sir! I'm pretty suck at numbers..
    I put MSRP 40150, Sales price 36500, Untaxed Incentive 4000, 0 drive off, MF 0.00020, RV 53%.
I don't know if I did it right or not..
So, 437 per month with 0 drive off?
Do you think this is good deal or I can go lower?

The sale price is about 19% off msrp (including the $4k lease cash) - that's a pretty good discount. They are showing 50% residual on their quote sheet. If you're using 53%, that's probably why you're calculating about 398. The money factor should be .00001 so they might be marking it up a little. With a decent credit score, you should be able to get the better money factor. Are you working with multiple dealers to get them competing for your business? I think it's possible to get this to the 415-425 range depending on available inventory.

He said residual is lowered to 50% this month. Is this true?
