Hi!  What are the June lease rates for 2018 SQ5 P+ on a 36/12k lease?  Thanks.

    65% and .00196
Is this a typo? 65% for 36/12k? If the Q5 P/P+ is 62% for the same, what reason is there to get the Q5 over SQ5?
    Not a typo...

A big difference in MSRP would still make the Q5 cheaper to lease. Everyone has a budget.

    Prices are different, mileage also
  • True -- but if 7% off and everything else the same -- I'm only getting $50-100 more a month at most.

Maybe I should consider it, even though it's totally unnecessary.
  • Hi! I am looking at a 2018 Q5 Premium Plus in Pennsylvania. Can you provide MF and RV for 36mo/15k year?

    Thanks!

We have no information on 3rd party banks, so cannot confirm the RV or MF.

I get $508/mo with those numbers.

NY taxes the sum of the payments and collects the money up front. If your drive off is just the first payment and DMV costs (as it should be), does the adjusted cap cost include the tax amount?

I calculated the sum of all monthly payments and then added on the NYS tax to get to a payment of $521 per month

It doesn't quite work that way.

If you sum up the payments, then add the tax amount, and you don't pay the tax up front, it gets added to the cap cost and is then subjected to interest.

That might explain the delta between the $521 you calculate and the $527 the dealer has.

Just wanted to thank everyone here for all their help. Ended up getting an '18 Q5 P+ for 505/mo for 36/10. For reference: sales price a bit over 7% off MSRP, MF at buy rate, 63% residual, and drive off of 2k down + 1st month + fees.

It might not be the greatest deal but I'm super happy to have this new car for a while!

Looks solid to me - not sure where you think you could have done better.

Oh, it was just my first time purchasing/leasing and negotiating on my own (usually have my dad to help lol) so I figured there would be better deals to be had by more experienced folks. But good to know I got a solid deal!

Thanks Michael. Does the $527 sound like a good deal? As I mentioned only paying 1st month and DMV upfront. 2018 Premium with convenience package, panoramic sunroof, heated seats. Appreciate your help.

If you're comfortable with the selling price and all, I don't see any red flags. Especially with the small up front amount.

I agree with the MF and residual.

However, the numbers shown are not all relevant to a lease. IL taxes the sum of the payments, and there is no reference to the acquisition fee ($895).

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and make sure you understand how they get that number from the selling price.

Is it normal for the sales tax to be included when calculating the cap cost? I am from IL. Can you please provide clarity on the best way to manage sales tax on a lease deal.

Yes.. Illinois taxes the sum of payments, but collects it upfront. So, unless you want to pay it upfront, it's added to the CAP cost. I recommend adding it to the CAP.
