The MB numbers are national, so it doesn't matter where you or the dealer are located.

And, that some dealers will add the maintenance plan to the MSRP, effectively residualizing it

That's up to you.

I would push for the base rate, and shop multiple dealers to ensure I'm getting the best deal from them all.

One other set of questions I had was about MSDs that I was hoping you could provide some insight on.

So I heard that MBFS offers MSDs only in some states. Is that true? Is it based on the state the car is being registered in or where the dealer is? Also what states do they not accept MSDs? And lastly let’s say the dealer agrees to .00084 MF. Will they be pissed if I then spring 10 MSDs on them and get to MF to .00014? Can they refuse to do that or refuse to accept MSDs if it’s in a state that allows it?

MSDs are at the dealers discretion, not geographic.

Understand that an inflated MF is but one way for the dealer to make money. Take that away, and they might try to make it somewhere else - less discount from sticker, for example.

It's all negotiable.

Again, work with multiple dealers - only takes one to get the discount you want, the base MF and a willingness to employ MSDs.

NY doesn't allow security deposits over $750. Other than that, I haven't heard of any other states where they aren't offered.
