I've been told by 6-8 local dealers that the $2,500 lease credit currently available does NOT apply to X5 loaners as they are only eligible for $1,000 lease cash (at least in the northeast). Also, keep in mind loaners are not eligible for the BMW Car Club Rebate of $1K. Taking both of those into account, you should really shoot for a 17% discount or more or a new 2018 may be a better deal as I've been getting 12% discounts offered on new 2018s. Also, you essentially lose 2% points from the discount due to the reduced residual value from the mileage (assuming 3,500-4999 miles) when compared to new. All of those discount percentages should be BEFORE either amount of lease cash is applied so ensure when the dealer gives you the breakdown they present the selling price separate from the lease cash. Lastly, if you have the extra cash, you can utilize MSDs in PA on loaners which can save you approximately $30/month due to the reduced money factor.

Good Luck!! There are a ton of loaners around so definitely call around and don't hesitate to walk.

MSDs are refundable security deposits so just let the dealer know you want the max, which is 7. One MSD is equal to your monthly payment so should be around $4-$5k total. It will save you about $1k over the course of the lease which is about a 8% return
So better than leaving it in a savings account or CD. Ensure the base MF is what Kyle provided (.00812) or defeats the purpose.

Technically customer rebates are applied after the agreed upon selling price, but many dealer just combine them together. Dealer rebates are a little different as they don’t necessarily have to pass it along to the customer.

FYI - BMW is offering lower lease cash on certain loaners models this month including X5, which can kill a deal.  I know the standard 3.5 xDrive is only $1,000 vs. $2,500 so likely getting close to half of the usual for the e40 too.  Call a few dealers and specifically ask as they are usually pretty upfront.

You may be better off with a new e40 once you take into account the lower incentive, reduced RV due to the mileage and inability to take advantage of the BMW CCA rebate. I’ve seen new ‘18 X5s discounted anywhere from 10-14% in the northeast and e40s are not necessarily hot commodities here.

I get $604/mo if I subtract the incentives from the selling price.

I suggest you ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost associated with their $660/mo quote, and how they got there from the selling price.

My my insurance agent said in case of a total, the insurance company will pay out the full value of the car and then offers an additional 25% gap coverage for $10/mo. So I would have to settle up with bmw finance on what remains but insurance company pays me in full. Can you provide more detail on why the down payment or “drive offs” would be at risk?

The one that is slightly better (~$200 on the overall cost of the lease) has a much higher discount off msrp but marks up the money factor to the max. Another quote has less discount but the base money factor. Any disadvantage if I go with the former one?

You'll have to run the numbers both ways to see which is better, in the end.

Ask the dealer with the marked up MF what happens to the discount if you demand the base rate?

That's not how leasing works. The insurance will only pay off the remaining payments - GAP or no GAP. You will not be "made whole" with regards to any down payment or cap reduction you make at the beginning of the lease.

In los angeles 90015. Trying to get $0 drive off  as well. Gross cap is $54,775. $738 seems too high compare to msrp. What would be the best deal from here?
