Does BMW have a limit of what their dealers can mark up the MF on a 36 mth lease? I know the current MF is .00152.

So if I place an order for a 2019 X3 M40i and it takes 2 months to get to dealer, what lease MF rate would apply? The current .00157 or whatever it is at time of delivery? Thank you

.00187 is the current MF for July.

If you special order, you can use either the programs in place when the order is placed, or the programs in place when the car is delivered.

You can't mix and match - you have to use the entire program - MF, residual and incentives.

Hey, new user here, this is my first ever lease, I apologize if this is a dumb question!

I am in NJ (07030) negotiating for a 2018 X3-M40i lease for 36 months and 10k annual miles. MSRP is about $67000. The monthly price the dealer is asking for is $700 with no money down. He's also saying that the upfront fees/inception is $5250 . Is this a good/bad deal?

    Thanks a lot !

    What is the selling price?
What is the breakdown of the $5250?

Hard to comment without all the information.

Selling price (i.e. the price I'd pay if I was to buy it with cash) is $60,056 (then there's an extra $1500 in rebates). I don't have a breakdown of the $5250 unfortunately, I do know it includes inception fees and NJ taxes.
  • Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Here is my offer for a 2018 X3 M40i in South Florida:

    MSRP: $58,545
    • Discounts before Incentives: -$8,064
    REBATES AND INCENTIVES:
    • Test Drive Certificate: -$1,000
    • USAA: - $500
    • Loyalty: -$1,500
    New sale price: $47,481
    Total Discount including incentives: -18.73%

    Adjusted Cap Cost: $49,103

    DUE AT SIGNING:
    Cash Up Front: $1,500
    MSD of 7 Months: $4,200
TOTAL OUT OF POCKET (OOP) = $5,700
(Includes 1st month, Acq Fee $925, Dealer Fee $799 and Tax and license Fees $470 and MSD of $4,200)

    Discounted Money Factor: .00227
(To get this deal I would need to agree to the markup on the base MF of .00187 in return for the deeper discount on the vehicle)

    Residual: 59%

Lease Price: $599 per months including tax (36 months / 10K year)

    IS THIS A GOOD DEAL?

You can get that information from the dealer; if they are unwilling to share it with you, you may want to find another dealer.

.00227 is the max markup allowed by BMWFS; if you are able to apply MSDs, the net MF should be .00192. Are you rolling over MSDs from a prior BMW lease?

    $925 + $799 (ouch) + $470 = $2194, not $1500

Seems like the dealer needs to sharpen their pencil.

That is a pretty massive discount.

I find it amusing that all the math gymnastics always result in a payment of x99....

  • After verifying with the dealer, the mf discount from transferring MSD from prior BMW lease is .00192.

Here's the break down on the deal......

    2018 X3 M40i
$599 including tax, 36/10K, 59% Residual, Net MF .00192, Total Due at Signing $5,700 ($1,500 OOP and $4,200 transferred MSD) with a 19% discount off of MSRP of $58,545 and 50% discount off of $600 BMW Ultimate Care.

Is there room for further discounts?

Short answer - I think you're at rock bottom with regards to price, especially on an M40i

    Thanks kyfdx!

    You saved me $684 ($19 x 36 months = $684).

I contacted the dealership where I leased the M40i and without any hesitation they adjusted the contract accordingly. The net money factor was reduced from .00192 to .00171 and it brought my monthly payments down from $599 to $580.

    Thank again!

    m40i 36/10k numbers for chicago 60523? thanks.

I just test drove and liked it, but the first pencil numbers they gave me seemed laughably high.
    • $1388 down ($397 fees + $991 first payment) (no mention of acquisition fee, i'm assuming its rolled in)
    • $991/mo
    • 59% residual
    • .00202 MF
    • 65870 MSRP
    • 61187 selling price (theres like $250 of non-residual dealer extras in there)
They were also doing a weird calculation of taking the sales tax of the entire vehicle (7%) and adding it to the selling price. In IL my understanding is sales tax is applied to the payment.

My rough calc comes to approx $900/month given the info above. Considering the high payment and MF, just wondering if i should consider a different dealer if am to pursue this car. Would appreciates any feedback, or let me know if you need that dealer lease printout.

It's possible that they gave you a lot of numbers that don't apply to a lease. Those are just left in there to confuse you (like sales tax)

Although IL calculates tax on the payments, the total amount is due upfront.
    .00166 MF and 59% residual

Your money factor is marked up.

Not sure how they got to $991.
Adding $925 acq.fee and $2200 tax to the selling price, and using the bumped up money factor, I get $910/mo.

Unless you live in the City of Chicago, that should be the maximum.

But, the base MF is .00166, across the board.

So the .00166 MF can apply to an ordered 2019 X3 and it can be locked for 90 days? Just hope the loyalty $1500 rebate would still apply. Then I also have a $500 Costco certificate. Kind of a lot to dump on the dealer at delivery time. But if it can be, I will do it.

So since I filled out a BMW credit app and my dealer placed the order for my 2019 X3 on July 9, I would be eligible to get the .00166 mf on a lease? If so, then I better contact him tomorrow?

    Awesome. Thanks Michael.
Here is something else to consider.

BMWFS just lowered the base money factor back to .00166, from .00187.

This must only be for the 2018's. Or would it apply to a factory order I just placed yesterday on a 2019 M40i?

A dealer can still markup the money factor..

Is the $500 Costco certificate something I can still get?

Got the $500 Costco certificate. It also offers me a $1000 conquest incentive. Dealer doesn't seem to know about or understand either, but I'll show them the fine print, and try another dealer if not.

With 7 MSD's, is 0.131 the correct MF down from 0.166? 0.005 off for each one?

We aren't certain of the new MSD program.

That’s what I was offered. Probably accurate, just was double checking.

    Hi.

    I am looking for leasing a 2018 BMW X3 xDrive30i SAV for 36M/12K.

How much off MSRP should I target for?

What is the latest incentive, RV, and MF for 98004?

    Thank you!

Hi Michaell and kyfdx. I'm getting the attached deal on a 2019 X3 xDrive Lease.
    What do you think?

Sales price is around 10k off MSRP with MSDs.
Convenience, Driver Assist, Driver Assist Plus, Executive Package, Ventilated Seats.

    Going to the dealer today:

wanted to verify money factor and residual plus any offers available on 2018 x3 36/10. Plus what kind of discount to push for on new and also used/loaner. This is our 3rd lease as well.  We are in Miami, FL 33126.

    Thanks!
