Is there any incentive around a 24 or 27 month lease on an EX-T? If so, what would be the residual, and MF with 10k miles per year? Thank you!!

    Sedan?

    .00124 MF
    $1400 lease incentive

    Honda does not offer 10K allowance; 24/12 and 27/12 residuals are 64% / 63%

Hi, need your help with Honda Civic LX hatchback numbers for Richmond, VA. 15k per year/36 Months I received a quote from Honda Dealership for $290.59/Month w/zero down. That number seems high to me. MSRP - $21,740 Sale Price - $19,497 Please let know, TIA.
.00124 MF $800 lease cash 58% residual The quote is not too surprising. VA taxes the full price, so about $800-$850 for tax, $595 acq.fee, probably $500 in DMV/dealer fees. Add all that in, for a CAP cost of $21,400, and the price would be $286/mo. Of course, you should ask the dealership for the actual numbers added, and the resulting adjusted CAP cost.
Can I get updated numbers for this?

Civic Hatchback Sports Touring 12k/36mons, 760 credit in Washington State?
I got a offer of $480 with 0 down (MSRP was ~29000). Why do I feel it's pretty high? (my old lease was a Nissan Leaf $250/0down. That's not comparable?)

Thanks for the numbers. If I remember correctly, MSRP is 29000, selling price is ~27500, amount due is 0 (or maybe first month only). Not sure about adjusted cap though. What would be a reasonable lease price with 0 down?

With those prices, I get a payment of $375/mo plus tax, assuming all fees are paid up front.

$480 is still a bit high, but knowing the cap cost would help.

WA sales tax is around 10%, right?

kyfdx, couple questions for you. So the EXT has a 1400 lease cash and the EX 1200 is that correct from what I'm seeing in the previous posts?

Also, how would you guys recommend going about negotiating? KBB lists fair market range of an EXT manual to be 20,500-21700 with invoice of 20962. I would normally shoot for invoice price then try to subtract the lease cash and present it to the dealer but those were vehicles that had invoice price that was at or higher than the fair market value on KBB. Is it unreasonable to do that? (20962 minus 1400 lease cash as the purchase price)

What are you thoughts on this deal I was offered? I live in Southern California.

    2018 Civic ExT, 36mo/12mi, $673.26 drive off,
    $237.87 base pymt + 18.44 tax = $256.31 a month.

    MSRP: $23,290
    Cap: $19,956
Adj cap: $20,551 (incl $595 bank fee),
    MF .00124 and residual 58%.

Is this a good deal? Thank you in advance.

Morning gents, I'm looking to verify some numbers I've been quoted, and maybe get a quick opinion on the payment. I'm in SoCal, looking at a 36/12 for a Civic LX CVT.

    Price: $20,530.
    Discounted price: $16,854.55 (-$3,675.45)
Adjusted Cap: $17,449.55 (includes $595 of additionals that I'm assuming is acq. fee)

    MF: .00124 | Res 57%
    Monthly: $210/mo (includes $14.20/mo tax @7.25%)
    Due at signing: $606.55 (drive-offs)

    Do these numbers look accurate?
Do you know the MF for Tier 1 and Tier 2 lessees? I don't think I'm 1+.

    Thanks for any help!

I agree with the math on that payment.

Any credit score above 660 qualifies for the .00124 MF; if the score is between 610-659, the MF goes to .00190

Thanks Michaell, that's really helpful. I got a subsequent quote from another dealership, would you mind taking a peek?

    Price: $20,530
    "Total Cap Cost:" 16,012.37

    MF: .00179
    Monthly: $185/mo (including tax.)
    Due at signing: $650

This was texted to me by a fleet manager, he wasn't keen on sending me a printout since he knew I'd shop it around... lol. The MF is obviously inflated, but do I care? The way I see it, if they needed to make X margin, they could have chosen to either keep the price higher, or they could raise the MF. I'm not sure if there's really a difference to me.
  • MichaellMichaell Moderator Posts: 264,325
I get $169/mo plus tax, so $185/mo seems to be in the ballpark. What is the tax rate?

    7.25%; looks close.

Michaell, what's your take on the seemingly-inflated MF? It seems to me that they could have either relented less on the price, or raised the MF - but both seem to accomplish the same goal of working their margin on the car - seems like 6 of one, half dozen of the other type of thing to me. Is there something I'm missing? I called the guy out on the higher MF, but he fought me on it and refused to say it was inflated. Which annoyed me on principle...

I'd also be curious if this 0-down payment seems decent to you compared to others you may have seen.

A couple of things to note:

    1. Could this be a non-Honda lease? If so, we wouldn't have any way to verify those numbers
    2. Lowering the price and raising the MF simply transfers the commission from the salesman to the F&I guy; that's an internal dealer decision. As long as you get the payment you want, does it matter?

I don't compare deals to each other; I simply try to help each person get the deal they are comfortable with.

    1. You're right on this one, and leading into your second point....
    2. I agree, I don't know that I care. It's the fleet manager I'm dealing with, I'm sure he has his reasons.

As a matter of principle, I want the [non-permissible content removed] to admit that it's inflated since it's through Honda Finance. Hah!

    Thanks as always.

For my fellow deal-seekers, I just signed a completely zero-down 36/12 lease on base LX CVT, and wanted to share my numbers (this is for Southern California with a FICO above 660 [lowest money factor.])

    Notes:
    1. My money factor is .0005 higher (.00179 instead of .00129) because they're allowed to waive the $595 acquisition fee and bump the MF up .0005. It means that instead of adding the $595 fee to your cap cost or paying it out of pocket, you pay a slightly higher MF. It results in a roughly $6/mo. lower payment  )
    2. If I had paid my own drive-offs and had no negative equity from my prior lease, my payments would have been only about $175/month + tax.

    Quick and Dirty Summary:

    Sticker Price: $20,530
    Total Discounts/Credits: ~($4,500)
    Gross Cap Cost: $16,012
Dealer paying off my old lease turn-in: $850 (not pictured)
    Dealer paying my drive-offs: $663
Bull$*#% profit I let the dealer sneak in: ~$170
    Adjusted Cap Cost: $17,700

End Result: $219/month + tax, zero out of pocket.

Congrats - looks like a solid deal.

And, I confirm the MF bump to waive the acquisition fee. Standard Honda option.

Hey Mr. Mitchell, thanks for all the good work you do here. I was recently in a car accident and need a new vehicle. Could you help me out with the residual value and MF on a 2018 civic sedan EX w/ sensing? I'm in Maryland. I believe there is also $1,600 lease cash, is that all correct?

Oh, ouch! Sorry for assuming you came through the accident unscathed. Get better, then start shopping.

Can I get the money factor and residual for the civic type r fwd
36 months 12k miles per year
    zip 32771

Tier 1-3 if possible as my score is low, but I may be able to get a co-signer.

    Thank You!

    .00220 and 64%

That is for tiers 1 to 3 (710 score and higher). Next highest MF is .00265 (660-709), then .00420 (610-659)

You can find a Type R to be leased?
