So i want you folks to look at this and tell me what you think. No credit was pulled today, these are just preliminary numbers. I was offered $17k for my Accord, went by Carmax and they offered 18K.

What is good enough to make the car worth buying now versus keeping it and paying the over mileage fees?

Honda doesn't publish 10K residuals, but if they are available in your area, add 1% to the 12K residuals.

LX residuals are the same as the Sport.

That's a big payment for a Sport. Read back through the last few pages of this thread; I think the deals are starting to get better.

Why are you wanting to upgrade from a 2017 to a 2018?

I'd use the CarMax offer to see if the dealer will bump their trade offer; I did that successfully to get $2000 more in trade on my Mazda when I traded it in for the wife's Outback 3 years ago.

No idea what might happen in the future.
But, residuals get adjusted every 2 months, and that is up on September 4th. They might not go down, but I'll guess they will. Other variables could change to make up for it, but we don't know.

Hi I am not getting the MF which is lower .00004 x 2400 = 0.096 or .00092 x 2400 = 2.208. 0.096 x 100 = 9.6% I believe and understand but 2.208 x 100 = 220.8%. What am I missing here. Thanks for your help in advance.

Don't convert the MF to a percentage, but 2.208% is the correct conversion.

The money factor is .00092

Converting it to an APR might give you some perspective, but it doesn't help you calculate the lease payment.

I agree with the steps, but the MF in (G) can be marked up by the dealer. This doesn't happen with Honda, but it can for other brands.

Accessories are just another way for the dealer to separate you from your money.

Hey everyone, I'm starting to hunt for an Accord 1.5 Touring (might not be the best choice for a lease looking at the lower residuals), but here is one deal I have. I do live in Virginia, which means we pay the full tax on our car. I ask for a zero drive off, but the dealer said I have to pay the first month payment (Honda requirement). And yes its funny I got those same wheel lock fees. Here is the breakdown, what do you guys think?

MSRP: 34,675
Savings (wasn't broken down): 5,021
Cap Cost: 29,654 (+99 for wheel locks)
Sales Tax: 1803
Processing Fee: 579
Total Price: 32,135
Residual: 18,724
Term: 36/12
Payment: 436 monthly

What do you think? I believe they calculated the tax incorrect based on MD instead of VA, they will correct and send back, but the difference is minimal.
