Is $23,500 OTD for 2018 Accord LX in NJ a good price?
  • dmathew347dmathew347 Member Posts: 80
I'm getting $35.6K OTD for 2018 Accord 2.0 in Virginia (Tysons Honda). Does anyone know if a President's Day Sale would get me better pricing, especially 0.99% APRs on this model?
Does Honda do Presidents Day massive sales?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Trying to get the Honda Accord 2018 EX_L without Nav
    MSRP - 30,860
    Dealer adds-on - 3000
    Drive out - 34,850
Is it a good deal? I try to get 26,500 Drive Out! Is is possible?

What are the dealer add-ons? The price seems to high.
I got an EX-L non-Navi for $26,810.12 on the 23rd of Dec. in So. Cal.
I had 2 worthless dealer installed options as well (wheel locks and full theft insurance for 3 years)
The price quoted above in not OTD. OTD it cost me a 29,265.00

    I'm in Indianapolis and recieved price quotes of 35.7k, 34.7k, and 34.0k on a 2018 Touring 2.0T

Being a brand new model with limited inventory, I committed verbally to the 34.0k price as that seemed reasonable and I was told is about $200 over dealer invoice.

Do any of you have an estimate of what I should see in terms of Money Factor and residual on this car? MSRP is around 36.5k I believe.

Judging from other posts, maybe 56-58% residual for 12-15k miles a year? And would a .001 money factor be adviseable (no way I'm paying .002 if that truly is Honda's current rate - I'll just buy using another lender)

    Thanks for any input!

avoid buying in indianapolis if you can ... i have never been able to get prices even within 500 of chicago prices

Can you break down your deal by listing the following:
    1. MSRP of the car
    2. Sale price of the car
    3. Any dealer accessories
    4. Any incentives
    5. Documentation fee
Since this is a fairly new model, do not expect any big discounts on President's day or anytime soon. What finance rate were you offered?

I paid a little under $29,300 out the door for an EXL (non Navi) on Dec. 23rd in Southern California. The dealer was Westminster Honda. The sale price was $26812 and it came with two dealer installed options (though worthless .... first one being wheel locks, the other one being 3 year theft protection warranty) I think you should be able to negotiate the price further down.

Looking at leasing a 2018 accord sport 1.5 here is what they drew up. Is this a bad deal. Also they changed it so it's 15k miles a year and not 12k. I also am getting 2000 for a trade in
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 266,109
    @blowe1103

Why in the world would you need a $999 maintenance contract? On a 36,000 mile lease, your maintenance costs can probably be held down to $500 total on a Honda.
The $499 doc fee is nothing but revenue for the dealer.

With $4177 out of pocket, your effective cost is over $400/mo.

    That's a lot for a $27K vehicle.

I told them I did not want the maintenance since it said optional and he said well it isn't really optional and we can take it off but the price will stay the same. They are being really difficult. So would you suggest telling them they need to take the doc fee off and the 999.00 service fee off or no deal

Horrible deal; find a new dealer

btw, mx on a 3 year lease is only oil changes and tire rotations; all else is warranty

I got OTD 26,750 for EX 1.5T black/black in Northern VA. It was offered at 27,400 at first, I then bid 26,000 and they lowered it down to 26,750. I am looking at another dealer to see if I can get a lower price.
  • ongchumongchum Member Posts: 5
So i got it done at 26.3k for a 18 EX 1.5T black in black.

First I got an email offer of OTD 27.2k from 1st dealer.
Then I went to a second dealer for test drive and they gave offer at 27.4k OTD. I started my first bid at 26k and they came back at 26,750. I countered at 26.3k but they didn't budge.
Next day I sent out email to several dealers. I got an offer 26.5k from 3rd dealer and I said that's done. Then I got a 26k OTD from a 4th dealer but only if I financed (I paid cash so that's a no).
So I went to the 3rd dealer to buy at 26.5k. However there's a scratch and they won't lower the price. So it's cancel. While I was at the dealer I sent out final price check to all dealers and a 5th dealer agreed 26.3k OTD. And they are only minutes away from the 3rd dealer.

And that's how I got my new EX 1.5T OTD 26.3k in Northern VA with cash. (Could have been 26k if financed).

Need to know if this price is good.  2018 Accord EXL 1.5 Automatic Lunar Silver.
    MSRP: $30,860.
    Sale Price $27,545.

Tax, Doc, fees, splash guards, trunk tray, wheel locks, 3MM protection on all door handles, nitro for tires for 5 years: $ 2,810.

Honda Care 7 year 120,000 miles no deductible: $1,145.
    OTD: $31,500

Southern California San Bernardino County 8%tax

I offered $30,500 they said no.  I know people dont like Honda Care but i always get plus they matched online price from CurryHonda so that was a plus. Should i go for the $31,500 or wait a few weeks for Presidents sale.

Would someone have the MF and residual for a 2018 Accord LX with 36/15 in Phoenix. Sales rep here is telling me HFC's residual this lease is 53%. Seems a little low to me.

Hi! I am really sorry if this comment/message is in the right forum. I am COMPLETELY NEW at purchasing a car. I want to get the new Honda Accord EX trim level (how can anyone not get the moonroof?!) and have a lot of questions. I hope you all don't mind my newbie questions. If anyone can demystify the car buying experience for me :))

    1. My biggest question is, how do you get numbers? Are you supposed to run your credit every time to get these prices?
    2. I've been looking through the previous year model forums and I saw that people have an invoice price, which seems to be about $2,000 lower than the MSRP. I also saw that people try to get under the invoice price by a couple thousand dollars. Considering that this is a redesigned model, should I be using that as my standard?
    3. Is there an "ideal" time (price-wise) to purchase the Accord if there is no immediacy involved? Like, over a holiday weekend?
    4. The half leather/ half cloth option, is it only available for the sport model? I would love to have that on the EX trim level, but the dealer guy told me no... wasn't sure if I heard wrong or I have hopeful thinking...
    5. What can I expect regarding numbers if I live in the Los Angeles area? I don't mind driving a little out the way to get the car. I saw that taxes & document fees are different per state...
    6. My dad says that moonroofs leak (after time)... is this true? Because if it does, I don't mind going for the Sport trim.

thank you in advance to anyone who can give me any tips!

I'm sure others will chime in, but I'll offer you my .02 ....

    1. You should not need a credit check to get a price quote; if the dealer says you do, walk away
    2. Read back through the last few pages of this thread (not the 2017 thread) to see what others have been paying. It's nowhere close to thousands under invoice for the redesigned Accord
    3. Holidays and the end of the month are good times to buy. Presidents Day weekend is coming up.
    4. Yes, only available for the Sport model (which I test drove); found out after the test drive that the Sport doesn't have equipment on it that I would want - satellite radio and heated seats being two big ones.
    5. You can't swing a dead cat in the LA area without hitting a Honda dealer (I grew up in Ventura County, so I know this from personal experience). It's one of the most competitive Honda markets in the country. No need to go out of state, in my mind. Shop as many dealers as you are comfortable traveling to.
    6. I've had moonroofs in cars for years, without any problems. Unless your dad is buying the car, or co-signing the loan, his opinion doesn't matter to what you want, or ultimately get

Best drive out price I got on the 2018 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan here in Central Texas is 28K
This includes 6.25% Texas sales tax, documentation and other fees.

Dealer wanted 31k in December for the same trim. Looks like deals are starting to roll out. Never be in a rush to buy.

    Thank you for your .02!

    1. Should I be visiting dealerships or should I do the negotiating online?
    2. If the market is competitive, should I be "aggressive" in negotiating price?
    3. How do people calculate their monthly payment price? Do you know what an average monthly payment is for the EX trim? I was hoping for ~$400/month, is this wishful thinking? :)

    Monthly Payment $450
    Money Down: $0

    Let me know, thanks!

Is it $0 down or $0 due at signing? They are not the same thing.

What is the adjusted cap cost used for the payment quote?
$0 down, due at signing is 1st month's lease payment and tag cost.

Thanks for this...in no rush, so let's see what a couple weeks and involving some Seattle dealers does.

    Hi there,

How does this look? In Tacoma, WA (98498) getting this so far:

    Have a quote for

    2018 Accord EX 1.5T
    White with Black Interior
    Lifetime Nationwide Warranty
    Door Edge Guards

    MSRP $28,360
    Selling: $26,145
    Tax: $2,719
    Title Doc: $150
    License: $450

    Total to finance: $29,464

I paid a little under $29,300 out the door for an EXL (non Navi) on Dec. 23rd in Southern California. The dealer was Westminster Honda. The sale price was $26812 and it came with two dealer installed options (though worthless .... first one being wheel locks, the other one being 3 year theft protection warranty) I think you should be able to negotiate the price further down.
Went to Seattle dealer and ended up with this, which appears good for our area:

    EX White/Black MSRP: $28,345
    Base Price: $25,646
    License est: $436
    Flex Cash: ($1,000)
    Tax: $2,642
    Doc: $150
    OTD: $27,874
