So, I realize the original deal I posted was most likely "too good to be true". I tried to get the dealer to commit and send me a price breakdown and numbers before I drove to their dealership, and they just kept beating around the bush... smells fishy to me.

However, another dealer gave me the below, still on a Touring 2.0T. Please let me know if it's good or bad!

    Vehicle Cost
    $32,460.00… Selling Price
    +$ 595.00… Acquisition Fee
    =$33,055.00… Gross Cap Cost

    Residual
    $36,690.00… MSRP
    $19,812.60… Residual 54% of MSRP

    Depreciation
    $33,055.00… Gross Cap Cost
    -$ 1,000.00… Cap Cost Reduction
    =$32,055.00… Net Cap Cost
    -$19,812.60… Residual Value
    =$12,242.40… Depreciation

    Rent Charge Calculation
    $32,055.00… Net Cap Cost
    +$19,812.60… Residual Value
    =51,867.60 x .00210 (Money Factor)
    =108.92/mo x 36 months
    =3,921.12 Rent Charge

    Tax
    $12,242.40… Depreciation
    +$ 3,921.12… Rent Charge
    =$16,163.52… Term Total
    X 6% Florida Sales Tax
    =989.81… Lease Term Sales Tax
    =17,133.48… Total of Payments

    Total Payment
    $17,133.48 / 36 = $475.93 monthly payment

    Upfront Fees
    $799.00… Dealer Fee
    $475.93… First Payment
    $350.45… Estimated Tag/Title/Registration Fees
    $119.73… Upfront Taxes
    $1,745.11… Total Amount Due Upfront

    ------------------------------------------------

He also said there's a Touring 2.0T coming in where they won't add any of the accessories they normally do (mud flaps, wheel locks, trunk mat), and then he could make that car's selling price $31,860 with a monthly payment of $457.33 and roughly the same out of pocket.

    Thanks!

Hi @junie14 The moderators don't comment on the prices paid discussions, generally. Other members that are shopping for the same vehicle have a much better handle on the market than we do. Of course, I can't make them respond. ;)

The person above, Ongchum, bought a EX for about 14% off MSRP whereas your deal is about 11% off MSRP. Of course I can't say for certain that is the price he actually paid but comparing his deal to yours, your deal is not that great. It all depends if you need to buy a car sooner rather than later. It appears the Honda accord is not selling at that great a discount even if you are a great negotiator. The 2017 Accords were discounting at close to 25% off MSRP.

The moderators generally do not comment on pricing. When I see someone claim they have already bought the vehicle and blatantly got shafted, the moderators will still congratulate them on their new car purchase. They are very nice and polite. They don't want you to feel bad.

    Thanks. A couple of points:

    1. The 2017's were being cleared out at fire sale prices, in anticipation of the new 2018's. Despite the death spiral of the sedan market, Honda seems to have a bit of a hit on their hands with the new one. Smaller discounts, unfavorable lease deals. It may change - but, nobody knows when.
    2. What's the point of piling on? We try to remind folks to do their research before pulling the trigger - whether it's a purchase or a lease. Given how rarely people buy a new car, they often don't get enough experience to do it right. All we try to do is level the playing field.

    Hello!
I finally asked the dealer for some prices, not sure if they are good. I'm still doing my hw & researching how I should go about this purchase.

    Accord EX 2018
    Msrp $28,345.
    My price to go $25871.
    And on the
    Accord  EXL
    Msrp $30,845.
    My price to go $27971.

This is for Los Angeles pricing... I still need to figure out what monthly pricing will look like with these numbers.

Just purchased a 2018 Honda Accord Touring for $30,700. MSRP is $34,880. Curious if this was the going rate. What did everyone else get theirs for?  Also is there a cheaper place to get extended warranty, tires, dent ding etc instead of going through dealer pricing? Will dealers budge on warranty pricing?

12% discount at this point is an excellent deal in my opinion. Congrats!

There are some online sources for discounted Hondacare pricing. I’ve bought a few that way and it worked out fine - you’ll pay about half what the normal dealer price is - do a quick internet search and you should be able to find a few.

I was able to get them to lower it to $28900 OTD -- guess I should take that deal.

Anyone in the Northeast, specifically in the Boston area purchase a 2.0T Touring recently? If you did, can you post your sale price or PM me?

I am curious to see what type of pricing dealers are offering. I reached out to one dealer recently and this was their quote without any haggling:
    • MSRP: $36,690
    • Sale price: $32,762
    • Invoice Price (from autotrader.com): $33,618
    • Amount below invoice: $856
    • Doc fees: $397
These numbers are not that great since Honda is not offering finance incentives like flex cash at this time. There are also no posted finance rates for the 2018 model. I am sure by the summer/early fall, pricing will be more attractive for most folks who want to get into a 2018 model.

I am looking at other car manufacturers since I am not big fan of the exterior design of the new Accord. However I like a lot of the features that are standard on the Touring trim.

So i got it done at 26.3k for a 18 EX 1.5T black in black.

First I got an email offer of OTD 27.2k from 1st dealer.
Then I went to a second dealer for test drive and they gave offer at 27.4k OTD. I started my first bid at 26k and they came back at 26,750. I countered at 26.3k but they didn't budge.
Next day I sent out email to several dealers. I got an offer 26.5k from 3rd dealer and I said that's done. Then I got a 26k OTD from a 4th dealer but only if I financed (I paid cash so that's a no).
So I went to the 3rd dealer to buy at 26.5k. However there's a scratch and they won't lower the price. So it's cancel. While I was at the dealer I sent out final price check to all dealers and a 5th dealer agreed 26.3k OTD. And they are only minutes away from the 3rd dealer.

And that's how I got my new EX 1.5T OTD 26.3k in Northern VA with cash. (Could have been 26k if financed).
Congratulations on your purchase. You said 26,300 OTD. What is the price of the vehicle before registration and tax? I am in California and I'm going to assume my OTD is not the same as your OTD?

    Thanks

    Thanks.
    Selling price 24,448.09
    Taxes Northern VA 1,043.60 (4.1%)
    Processing fee 699
The rest is title and tags and other fee.

    Congrats on your purchase.
Could you please share the dealers (#4, #5) name as I am also looking for 2018 1.5T EX in Northern VA.

Dealers offer a discount of $1000 if financed via Honda Finance. Can I refinance with another bank immediately before paying the first month payment availing the discount ? Anybody know of terms and conditions of Honda Finance.

Dealers are not disclosing the finance rate and requesting to come to the showroom. Upon insisting one mentioned that it may be in upper 3%

    Tire and Wheel Coverage?
Has anyone found a deal on Tire/Wheel coverage? Or better yet tire/wheel/cosmetic/dent ding coverage. My dealer is asking $1100. I know they are way over inflated and I plan to make a low offer when I sign the papers, but wondering if there are other dealers (thought I saw a discussion here somewhere) or companies to buy this from? More concerned about the tries and rims since I am in the northeast pothole hell!
    Thanks for any info

    too high!
22113 + 595 (bs dealer fee) is the real sell price and it is less than 2000 off msrp

offer 23.8k total and settle for 24k even...GL

update: if $1000 flex cash is available, reduce above numbers by 1000

After monitoring and email inquires since last October I am hoping my test drive tomorrow will turn into my new car. They have in stock my preferred touring (crystal black with ivory). It is in the Philly area and the deal is MSRP 34690, discount is 3145 to31545 and if I finance I get the 1000 flex cash. Sales tax will depend on my trade in value, 2012 accord EXL and if I accept the deal. I am hoping for 9 - 10 k. Other fees are 140, doc, 85 title/lien, 211 for 4 year advance registration, wheel locks are extra. Talking to other dealers seems like they will try to add pure profit fees such as internet fees or advertising fees but I know better. I feel like I have leverage in that most area dealers have 140 to 150 accords in stock, more than all other models combined. The technology will be a challenge at my advanced age and the much smaller gas tank will take some getting used to.. If this falls thru I am prepared to wait . These thing are not made of gold

Absolutely. When we traded in our Mazda for the wife's Outback, Carmax offered $2K more than the Subaru dealer did. When I showed them the CarMax offer, the dealer bumped their number on the trade to match.

And, you can check out the "Real World Trade in Values" thread here at Edmunds, for another opinion.

I went to the above dealer today, got in a good test drive and I love the car. The price was what they offered 31545 and 1000 off if financed. The fees are not too out of line and the stumbling block was my trade in as expected. They offered 6500 and then would not go any more than 7200 so I stopped by CarMax on the way home for an appraisal and they offered me 8500 cash for my car good for 7 days. Yesterday I checked another dealer a bit further out and they quoted me 30369 which includes the 1000 flexcash. I was shocked to learn that last week Honda changed their deal and are giving it for finance, lease or CASH deals so I won't have to finance. I am going to dealer #2 on Monday morning with my CarMax report. Thanks to the great people in here that told me about using CarMax for a free appraisal

Is the second quote for a 2018 Touring? 1.5 or 2.0T?

I live in Seattle, WA and the dealership here offered me an EX-L 2.0T for $32000 out the door. The price before tax, title and registration was $29500. I will be using financing from my credit-union.

    Is this a good offer?

    End of month email I received from the dealer I purchased my 2016 Accord from had the following;

    All New 2018 Accords:

    LX: $20,476
    SPORT: $22,445
    EX: $23,956
    EX-L: $26,186
    TOURING: $29,603

Safe to say these were CVT prices not 2.0T.

    State; MA
    Dealer Doc is $350

Not much of a deal on the Touring, since the 2.0T is an additional $2k. The best quote I received from a MA dealer so far for the 2.0T Touring was $31,879, plus $1000 flex cash for financing through Honda. Their doc fees were $298. That was last month, BTW.

I am cross-shopping the Accord with other brands so not in a rush to buy or make a deal.
