you will have to shop around multiple dealers to try and replicate. Given we are in a new month, wait for programs to show up. Start early and get quotes from different dealers. Passats are not movers, so dealers will be inclined to make deal, but you need to wait towards the end of the month for dealers to get really aggressive.

$0 down, or $0 due at signing? Not the same thing....

I would guess that with the lease, they aren't giving you the same price.
Because, if they were, the payment would indeed be $204/mo.

I learned that my employer gets special pricing with VW : $500 under invoice. Sounds good, but I'm guessing I may be able to do better with the 2018 dismal Passat sales.

Also purchase incentives, if any. I have been told by various dealers that they can sell the car for 3k less compared to the lease price.

When you say lease cash, is this applied as additional discount or as a rebate? One is taxable and the other is not in FL.

I'm not sure, but I think that is correct. If you take the 0% financing, the dealer gets $1500, instead of the $4000.

Of course, a demo/loaner with 500+ miles should be cheaper than a new one.

I've discovered that my employer's pricing program with VW allows me to purchase a Passat at 500 under invoice. That, combined with the $2050 dealer cash for a SE lease is attractive.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of employee pricing? I'm guessing that VW picks up the tab of the (approximate) $1000 between Invoice and MSRP, and the extra $500.

Should I expect the dealer to be able kick in some cash of their own , or is 500 under invoice pretty much down to dealer holdback territory?

The idea with employer pricing is that it sets a fixed price, less available incentives.

No more room to move, beyond that.

I went with my friend to make a lease deal at White-Allen, in late 2016. They seemed pretty easy to deal with.
