Agreed. I calculated RV as 57% but wanted to double check as only when the RV was significantly higher would it make the dealer's statement true. I'm actually comparing to paying cash so I guess the question is if the $2950 incentive makes it worth it. Interest works out to ~1700 for 3 years. So net benefit of incentive is just over $1k (2950-1700).
But my understanding is that Virginia bakes the sales tax on the full sales price into the 36 lease payments. What happens when I buy the car after the lease is over? Do I pay sales tax again on the 29k?

My guess is yes, but you should check with the VA Department of Revenue to confirm.

Only $2200 of the incentive is lease specific. You get $750, even on a purchase.
Total finance charges on a lease will be $1300-$1400, at most. But, you'll also have a $595 acquisition fee that you don't have with purchase. But, even paying cash isn't free.... you lose the earnings on that money, so the finance charges are moot.

If I'm in a full-tax state like VA, and driving just 7500 mi/yr, I'm definitely buying.

I am hoping I can get some help. I live in AZ (85248) and currently have a Acura TLX 2016 advanced with just under 21,000 on it. I pay $520 a month OTD on a 36 month lease with 10,000 miles a year. July 1st I will have 6 payments left and my local dealer offered me a 2018 MDX advanced with 10,000 miles a year for $520 a month out the door key for key $0 out of pocket. What are your thoughts? is this a good deal? Can I do better?

Texas taxes the full selling price, even on a lease, so that will add quite a bit to the CAP.

What are the MSRPs of these vehicles? .00050 and 59% for 36/7.5K; not sure why you're getting different residual % from different dealers.

The calculations are correct. The question is: What goes into the CAP that raises it $3700 over the sale price? What state is this?

Texas taxes the full selling price, even on a lease, so that will add quite a bit to the CAP.

Still can't tell you, until we know what the breakdown is of the $3700 delta between selling price and CAP cost. A good chunk of that will be taxes, but we want to know if there are any junk fees in there that pads the dealer profit.

No.. quoted prices don't usually include acquisition fees.
But, it's best to ask. No need to guess.

With the $595 acquisition fee rolled in, I get 471/mo.+tax

I got a deal in dfw with tax credits. 429 a month base  model 12k miles a year 40791 is the gross capitalized cost and 25761 buyout. How is this deal? It’s a FWD
