i walked in a dealer in SF Eastbay area for AWD TECH & don't think i had a good experience. Once the sales manager realized that i wanted to buy & he tried to push me to lease. i said it's ok, just showed me the numbers & if it's a good deal, i will go with lease. at first, he asked me how much i wanted to put for down payment, i said i prefer 0 down. he said there is no such thing. i told him of course there will be 1st time payment, dealer, & DMV fee etc. so he came up with $7000 down & monthly payment of $581 including tax for 3 yr / 10K. i told myself immediately that it's a ripoff. then i asked him to explain in details like selling price, residual, MF, cap cost......, he just pointed here & there on the worksheet paper & saying it's almost interest free @ 0.0003%. Residual is about $28800. then i said give me the best offer if i want to buy. first he wanted to sell @ MSRP but with multiple bargains, he came up $48000 +TTL & said he is selling it at lost (below invoice). I told him TrueCar is showing $46,XXX & he said the price is unreal & later on said it is for lease. also he told me the finance rate is 1.99 for 3 yr, 2.99 for 4 yr, & 3.99 for 5 yr & 4.99 for 6 yr.....i tried to push a lower OTD price & he just walked & threw all the papers away.. :-(

i will be visiting other dealerships in the area later the week. can anyone comment the price $48k+TTL? Invoice is $48,834 -$750 dealer cash = $48,084 so it seems resonable. but from other thread (2017 Price Paid) people posting selling price around $45,XXX + TTL.

2017 is irrelevant.

Find another dealer, point out the car you want, and tell them what you are willing to pay.

I am looking at a 2018 MDX SH AWD with the tech package in Texas. MSRP 51595. Negotiated the lease for 36m/12k miles. 1st month payment due ($546) with running payments of $546 including all taxes and fees. RV 55%. Does that seem right?

Make sure your quote is for 12K/yr. The residual quoted to you is for 36/10

final offer was verbal, so I don't have the exact figures on adjusted cap cost; however I can give you the residual, MF, and sales tax. Residual - 25,761, MF - .000350, sales tax 7% based on total payments (state of GA)

$2200 Lease Cash

Both are dealer incentives.
Any purchase quote would include the $750, but not the $2200.
