42 months isn't any better or worse than 48, just shorter, which is an advantage when it comes to leasing, generally.

Ouch, that's the lowest residual I've seen you post for any 18 RR. Probably a sign of it being late in the model year so they're dropping it to prep for 19's? What's the rate and residual for 36/12?

What is the MSRP?

The first and third columns have the MF marked up by .00100 - base rate is .00221. We don't have 3rd party numbers, so can't help you with the middle column.

And, we suggest you limit the out of pocket amount to just the first payment and DMV costs.

The money factor increase is adding $200/mo. to the payment.

I guess it's fine to pay full MSRP for a vehicle, if you want it really bad, but the extra $7200 in finance charges for the money factor markup is just gouging.

For another $100/mo, you could buy the car with a 60 month payment.

Yeah.. if you are stuck on buying this car at MSRP, then that's what I would do. Or, just a simple, "That payment is 10% too high. We'd be happy to sign, if you use the buy rate money factor. Let me know."

It helps to have alternatives in mind.

In MD, you pay sales tax on the full selling price of the vehicle.
That will naturally favor a longer term, as the amount is amortized over more months.

Your $5000 drive off wouldn't even cover the sales tax..

Let's assume $7K for tax
$2000 for acquisition, dealer, DMV fees
$1970/mo 1st payment.

That's $11K in upfronts... subtract your $5K, and roll in the other $6K for an adjusted CAP of $123,481.
