Your sale price should be 8-10k off MSRP. No ifs, ands, or buts. TLX sales are in the toilet. My local dealer hasn't sold one in a month.

Many Acura models, including the TLX, only have a 6-7% markup from invoice. If anyone is getting $8,000-$10,000 off MSRP that will not only include available incentives but include a deep dealer discount that likely requires the dealer to relinquish any holdback and they would probably only do that if they are looking to move a unit or two to hit a volume bonus.

Or they can continue to make offers of $600 a month for a $45k car and they will sit on their lots for months accruing rent charges.

I don't disagree with you but all stores have a bottom line they are not going to dip below, even if it means losing a sale. No dealer will be in business long if they only do loser deals, they have the right to ask what they want for the car and you have the right to not pay it.

Yeah residuals are hurting the deals. 4% less than they were a year or so ago makes a difference. I think the sales people's hands are tied because they already have all the incentives they can roll into them. I'm sure they want to move them.  These cars are not too popukpo on the road. Also you can get an Accord with all the bells and whistles that have a better residual. Acura knows this generation of TLX will not be as popular once the new design is out. The residuals are lower probably due to this.

My Honda dealer keeps coming back with $500+ quotes on a $35k Accord Touring lease which I find even more ridiculous.

My number does include the lease incentive. I meant it as inclusive.

Accord Tourings I have seen go in the $300’s all day. Head over to lease hackr for info on how to get that sales price down.

That’s only the 1.5, not the 2.0T. The 1.5 has greater incentives. I’m also looking at 15k/36.

Just helped brother-in-law get a TLX Base after he asked if they were giving him a good deal, and it wasn't.
This could have been better if he wanted to drive an hour to another dealer, but included maintenance wouldn't be local.
Personally, I would have went with the 2018 Honda Accord Touring, but it's not my car.

    Zip: 28215
    Acura TLX Base 2.4
    36/15,000

    MSRP: $33,995
    RV: 0.49%
    MF: 0.00084

    Doc Fee: $649
    Aqu Fee: $595
    TTL: $88
    Addons: $549

    OTD Price: $29,630
DAS: $850 just because he likes under $400 a month.
    Monthly: $398

Had anyone on here made a deal for a 19 TLX V6 FWD tech? $0 sign and drive 36/15? Or had any offers?
  • FdfnjFdfnj Member Posts: 23
I can’t say that this is a great deal, but it was the best offer I was able to get after negotiating with several dealers over the past month. Most offers were well into the $500s with similar money due.

    2019 TLX SH-AWD V6 Red MSRP $45,795
    36/15k
$475 - $1900 due at signing includes 1st monthly payment and NJ sales tax

Not sure how they came up with their numbers. The residual on the contract equates to 50% (it is 36/15k),  and it is listed as Acura Financial. The Money Factor does work out to .00084. Plugging their 50% residual aligns with my numbers.

There is no TLX with a 50% residual for 36/15.

    V-6 AWD
    A-Spec: 49% residual
    All other: 47% residual

I'd check your paperwork very closely.

Residual is a percentage of full MSRP.

They rolled $500 into my final payment for remote start, so that’s where the difference in residual came from. So it is 49%. I didn’t account for that $500 in my MSRP.

After some back and forth with a local dealer, was given this offer:

    MSRP: 36795
    Sale price: 31398 (30304 + 995 delivery)
Net cap cost: 32293 (595 acquisition, 300 processing)
    Residual: 52%
    36 months/10k miles
    $3000 down
$369/month - said this was all inclusive, they may have rolled tax, registration fees into this.

In MD, so tax is on full value. Said we have cash to cover taxes and fees (the 3k), but they might have assigned it as down payment. Does it make a difference? If so, is it better to use as cash due at signing or as down payment, or just keep our cash? Thanks.

Seems pretty high for such a low MSRP and only 10k per year. Not sure what incentives are available on your trim, but I got around $8k off a $45,795 MSRP. See my numbers above for 15k per year. 10k miles would probably drop my payment by $50, to $425 or so for a fully loaded trim, and I only paid $1900 at signing. Paying tax on the full amount certainly increases your total cost.

My dealer initially quoted me $482 with $3,500 due at signing. I told them we were a good $2000 apart, and they asked if I would do the deal if they met me half way. I countered at $482 $1500 at signing. Eventually agreed to $475 and $1900 due.

Best to keep the money in your pocket, and only pay the first payment and registration costs up front. Add the taxes and fees to the cap cost and make them part of your monthly payment.

This was Rosenthal. Funny that you mention Norris, I think they made a bigger mistake. Was offered 33533 (includes delivery), and then told lease has an ‘additional’ 3k incentive. I’m following up on that now.

    Total Cash of $4600 includes:
    $500 2019 TLX Fast Start exp. 02/28/2019
$1250 Dealer Lease Finance Offer exp. 02/28/2019
$2850 Captive Lease Offer exp. 02/28/2019

    That lines up.

Is the sales price before or after the incentives?

What lease term and how many miles per year?

What payment did they quote you?

How much is due at signing?

I assumed after sales price and my plan was to begin negotiations at $38,000 for a 36 mo 12,000/yr lease with no money down, which would put my pre-tax monthly payment around $330. Do you think I'm being way too optimistic here?

I went to a dealership today in 02893 and the lowest they would go is $38,500 after incentives. I have a printout of their second to last offer of $39,911.04 after incentives but the payment quote was $603 so something is way off, should be about $100 less. MF says 0.00084. I honestly think they showed me a fake invoice so this place might be shady.

Thanks so much for the help!

I received this offer from a dealer in 01501:

    2019 TLX V6 SH-AWD A-Spec

    MSRP: $45,795
    Dealer Cash: $1,750
    Sales Price: $40,766
    Lease Cash: $2,850

These are the incentives we see:

Thanks so much for the help!

    .00084 and 51%

$440/mo using the $38,500 cap cost

But, if that's the selling price, there may be some other costs added to it that is bumping the payment up. Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost for their payment quote, and an itemization of what was added to the selling price.

Do you think beginning negotiations at $38,000 ($33,400 cap cost) for a 36 mo 12,000/yr lease with no money down is way too optimistic?

Again, thank you so much for the help.

Do you think beginning negotiations at $38,000 (about $34,500 adjusted cap cost) for a 36 mo 12,000/yr lease with no money down is way too optimistic?

    Yes.

My selling price last week on the same MSRP was just under $38,000. I don’t see another $3,500 in discounts.  You’re not going to get anywhere close to $330 a month with no money down. There are at least $1000 in fees (lease acquisition, registration, title, doc...) plus taxes.

For 12,000 miles, you’d be lucky to get under $430, and that would still require close to $2000 due at signing.

I should clarify, I plan on paying all fees up front I just don't want a down payment in addition to the fees.

How about shooting for an adjusted cap cost of $36K?

    Thanks for your feedback.

We don't track pricing; you should rely on the advice and experience of other members, plus reference this link:

    https://www.edmunds.com/tmv.html

(hint: we don't recommend paying taxes and fees up front; that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled during the lease. Just pay the first payment and registration costs when you sign the paperwork)
