On 3: I was doing the math on the MSD's. Am I calculating this right? The payment is $766.40 a mo inc sales tax. If I do (7)MSD's, that is $800 X's 7= $5600. Assuming, they revise the MF for "Standard Plus", so it's NOT inflated, that would be .00175, minus .00035 (7 MSD's), that would bring my MF to .00140. That now brings my mo payment to $719 mo vs $755 mo. So I'm only saving $36 a month, but Im shelling out $5600 upfront + the $1500 total DAS. It doesn't look like I should apply any MSD's.I might as well just keep the $5600 in my own bank account. Thoughts?

That worksheet shows some numbers for a lease, but not all of them. Keep asking for a full accounting of the numbers until you are satisfied.

Dealers will often quote a higher MF before pulling credit. Just ensure that the base MF is used on the final contract.

One thing about MSDs which wasn't mentioned - you get that $5600 back at the end of the lease.

You'll never save the whole MSD amount, but think about the return on your money. You'll save almost $1300 over the life of your lease, or close to 8% per year.

If you have an investment vehicle that will guarantee that rate of return, then yes, invest the money there. But, we stand by our recommendation to use it, if you can afford to.

Total Sales tax line is informational, only. It's the total amount of sales tax paid over the lease term. If it were tax on a purchase, it would be over $4000

The acquisition fee is likely in the "total adds to CAP cost"

12% off MSRP on a demo, when you have to pay to have it shipped? Not that great.

If you live in Sarasota, you can't be that far from anywhere else in the state. Just go get the vehicle, if you lease it.

1: What if the car is totaled in an accident? Do you lose the MSD monies or is that guaranteed to come back to me in full? That's why I refuse to put a large chunk of money down towards a lease.

2: If I live in Sarasota, FL and the dealership is in another city/state, do they all have different regional incentives? Is there a way to shop for regional offers?

1: Shouldn't it be 15% BEFORE applying any other incentives? I have seen most dealerships apply the incentives and state that we are close to the 15%, with incentives included.

2: Since it's a demo and has approx 2k miles, shouldn't there be a deduction of monies per mile, as well as the $1250 BMW lease cash, Conquest cash, USAA discounts, etc.... I don't think they are a USAA approved BMW dealership. They can still match that though, right? I think it's$500 USAA and some dealerships match it, for a total of $1k USAA.

3: I cannot locate a 19' Demo m40i, blk/blk. I tried working with a few dealerships on a new, non demo and they aren't willing to move as much on the M40i.

Maybe I should copy and paste the offer from this dealership out of state and try going for a brand new one locally, IF they can beat their pricing? If they accept, I'll do the deal with them. It is the end of the month, so maybe they will do the deal? Maybe they need that quarterly or end of month bonus?

MSDs are not the same as a CAP cost reduction.

Yes, it's possible that other markets will have different incentives. However, we haven't seen any differences for the X4, this month.

Yes.. a good price on a demo would be 15% off, before applying incentives

There is no price incentive, other than the larger discount the dealer gives. However, the residual is reduced to account for the existing mileage. Which is why you want a big discount, to more than make up for that.

Can't help you with a search. The X4 is not a high-volume model, so finding demos might be difficult.

I think this is the best offer I have received, based on my personal credit score.
Over the course of the 36 mo lease, I will have paid out a total of $29,485 for a car that MSRP's at $68k.

Q: Is there a Rule of Thumb for leasing in which you shouldn't pay more than 50% of the MSRP over the course of the lease?

Once I get my deal set in stone, I will update.

Oh...their Residual is at 56.26% to account for the 2000 demo miles. I know you mentioned 58%. So that's a difference of 1.74%. How do they make up for that? They state they cannot apply any more discounts, they are at rock bottom.

They make up for it by lowering the sale price. If they are unwilling, maybe it's not that great of a deal?

There is no rule of thumb. Every vehicle will be different, based on the lease program available.

$819/mo. is not cheap for a demo BMW with an MSRP of $68K.

Thanks, I figured overall with the $1500 total DAS and the mo payment with taxes, I'm paying $819 a mo, like you stated. The first time I test drove one, in June, I got a quote for $1000 total DAS and $1015 mo.

Question: I'm considering the Jaguar S as well. Do you know what the MF, Residual and Incentives are on a 2019 Jaguar S, in Sarasota FL 34239?

Which scoring system does BMW Finance use of the 3 bureaus. I know they can use the highest score of the 3, which can be helpful.

With the 3 bureaus, there are different scoring models.

Do you know which ones they use?

Do they use FICO Score 8?

If not, which one do they use?
-Experian: Auto 8 or Auto 2
-Equifax: Auto 8 or Auto 5
-Transunion: Auto 8 or Auto 4

USAA’s website says incentive up to $1000, dealership says it’s $500. I looked at another BMW dealerships website about 20 miles north and they had the USAA incentive at $1000. Does the incentive vary by that much in such a short distance?

It's possible the incentives vary - we've had problems getting S. Florida numbers, so we've been using N. Florida for some time. We can't prove it, one way or the other.

Is this a good deal on a DEMO and for "Standard Plus" pricing? I applied at another dealership a month ago and they stated I was "Standard Plus" tier.

2019 BMW X4 M40i
1k miles (Demo)
MSRP: $64k

$1500 Total DAS

$690 mo inc sales tax at 7%

(There's a $151 Doc Fee, $350 Disposition Fee, $925 Acquisition Fee charged)

I asked for the MF and residual, they told me:
.00158 and 58%

You told me the base MF was .00128 + Standard Plus tier add of .00030
so this does equate to the .00158 MF he quoted me, which is not padded or marked up.

Thoughts?
