I'm trying to lease a BMW 540 for 36 months and for 15,000 miles. I would be paying $700 a month. The gross cap cost is 62,130.74. The adjusted cap cost is 56,258.06. Taxes/fees would be $4,519. That includes $700 toward my first lease payment. The rest of the breakdown was $925 for delivery/destination/acquisition. $720 for title, registration and license fees. $1,485 in sales/use tax. $389 in sales tax on cap cost reduction. Plus $300 down payment. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks again.

What is the MSRP?

Why is the adjusted cap almost $6K less than the gross cap, if there is only $300 as "down payment" in your up front costs?

57% is the residual value of MSRP, at the end of the lease.

.00182 is the money factor (similar to an interest rate on a loan)

Those are the "purchase" numbers.
CA taxes the monthly payment on a lease, so that number is invalid.
Also, no mention of the $925 lease acquisition fee.

We'll make some assumptions.
9% sales tax rate

.00182 MF and 59% residual

$4000 upfront=
$520/mo. 1st payment
$925 acq.fee
$680 DMV/doc fee
$1875 CAP reduction
less $252 upfront tax on CAPreduct/acq.fee
= $1623 net cap reduction

$47391 sale price
-$1623 CAP reduction
= 45768 Adjusted CAP cost.

$514/mo.+tax = $560/mo.

We are off by $40/mo.
I'll guess you have some sort of loyalty rebate?
And, your sales tax rate might be lower than 9%?
