Thanks for all the help...have been just reading all along and finally Leased 2019 Honda Pilot EX-L (with wheel locks, No NAV/RES) with True Zero down $419.10 (12k/36 months) in Chicago area. Final selling price $34000.

Thanks! I was charged tax on the Total value of the car/lease. Hope that answers your question

Illinois taxes the sum of the payments, and collects it upfront.
In his case, since he put nothing down, that amount was rolled into the CAP cost.
