I learned about this forum through another Lease Analysis forum and I've received a quote which I believe is not a good deal. I asked the dealer to quote a 2019 Velar S and 2019 Velar R-Dynamic SE w/12K miles/year. For the S this is what I received:
By the way, I'm still waiting to hear back on what MF was used to develop this quote. Although I guess I could technically back into this, huh?
I realize that it may be hard to get a good deal on a Velar because I'm in VA and the taxes are levied upfront on the sale price of the lease (if I'm saying that correctly). However, I'd originally planned to pay for the taxes out of pocket and the Quote sheet only shows the taxes as $2,365.21. Inclusive of other registration costs and fees total $884.34, which I'd imagine also have to be paid upfront.
My questions to those on the forum are as follows:
1. I may have missed recent numbers but what is the MF For P250 S at 39/12? Also can someone confirm that a MF of .00021 is still current for P250 R-Dynamic SE at 39/12? 2. Are the monthly payments above so high because they are assuming only three drive-off scenarios and rolling in taxes as a part of the total amount to be financed? I didn't think this could be done in Virginia. Any help? 3. Edmunds TMV for a similarly built model has the TMV as $52,375 so I believe I should negotiate for more incentives/rebates to get the selling price closer to this number. Agreed? 4. I've heard that Velars aren't leasing as well as they have been in recent times. I've been eyeing this vehicle for the better part of six months and I'm really ready to make a move. Do you think it is worth me waiting until May comes in to see if there is any hope that there are better lease incentives in May?

Actually when I looked back at the quote, the 36/12 seems to have the best residual value so I'm thinking of going with that option.
For the P250 S they quoted a MSRP of $59,494.00 with a $3,200 discount. Taxes are listed as $ $2,477.80. Doc Fee $699, Non-tax fees are $72.75 and VA Business Tax is $112.59. If I put $1000, $2000, or $3000 down, my payments would be $893, $863, $832/month respectively and inclusive of taxes.
For the P250 R-Dyanmic they quoted a MSRP of For the P250 S they quoted a MSRP of $65,335.00 also with a $3,200 discount. Taxes are listed as $ $2,731.88. Doc Fee $699, Non-tax fees are $72.75. If I put $1000, $2000, or $3000 down, my payments would be $969, $939, $910/month respectively and inclusive of taxes.
Rolling the taxes into the payment is fine because I already had the money for it so I can just keep the money and pay that associated amount from it each month.
I have the ability to get a PIN deal for an additional $1K off but I haven't brought this up to the salesperson yet. I also requested the same quotes from 2 other dealers that are within suitable driving range and I plan to further negotiate the sales price to get a better overall deal (hopefully).

36/12 250S - .00052 and 56% R-Dyn - .00001 and 54%
For the 250S, I used a cap cost of $59,657 and I get a payment of $780/mo For the R-Dyn, I used a cap cost of $65,639 and I get a payment of $844/mo
So - you need to confirm two pieces of information about those quotes:
1. The Cap Cost they are using 2. The MF they are using
One or both of those numbers are much higher than what I used.

I tried all of them and all of them do so, as far as I understand most of them are under the same auto group :-(
MSRP: 80379.
Net Cap cost: 76,721
RV: $44,207.90
MF: 0.00104
Monthly payment with 5K down= $1040, taxes included.
How does this look in your professional opinions?
However, LR dealers are known for padding the MF...
Why put $5K down on a lease? You'd lose that money if the car was stolen or totaled.
Doesn't change the total cost of the lease.
