I think I'm ok with $4K or 9.3% off MSRP, but was hoping to get closer to 13% off.
The $1175 in fees sound fishy to me.
.00096 MF and 55% residual is correct for 36/15 $1475 dealer lease cash on this model. $675 is the VW Credit lease acquisition fee Dealer fee is just padding.
Considering the $1475 incentive to the dealer from VW, your discount is more like $2625. If you are paying all of the fees upfront, along with the first payment, then the payment calculation is correct.
Need some help on this deal for a SEL 4M Rline, 36/15k zip code 60510 (7% sales tax). Here's whats on the table: $1,250 trade equity coming off old lease, $3,000 cash down. We negotiated 9% off MSRP, $1500 incentives plus an additional discount of $500 for the Sports Car Club America membership. I cannot rationalize their numbers against my traditional lease calculator which gives me a payment of $410/month. Please take a look and let me know what I'm missing. I can't figure out if they should be applying the equity from the trade against the negotiated price vs being included as cap cost reduction (cash) - they told me they couldn't put the equity as cash for whatever reason. Thank you in advance.

.00160 MF and 55% residual $1500 dealer lease cash
Amount Due at Signing Line c) : should be $3682.70, though the totals are correct You know it's $3682.70 due at signing, not $3000 right? $3000 + first payment + license fees.
Residual $25,377.00 This residual would impute an MSRP of $46140 Yet, the MSRP listed is $46325, which would assume a residual of $25478.75
Itemization of Gross CAP Total Capital Cost should be $3000 higher, with the $3000 CAP reduction from your cash show under CAP reduction. They have the final number correct, but it's weird that they don't show it that way.
The calculated payment is correct.
The only real issue I see is the residual amount not matching 55% of the stated MSRP. It's only $100, but still...
I think it is 9 deposits X .00008 ea. = .00072 MF reduction.
We seldom see it used for VW, though
Thanks for the response. All the dealers I've spoken to either don't know what MSD is or say VW doesn't do it. I'm looking at a 2018 SEL Premium which I'm told carries a .00045 MF (about 1%) on a 3 yr 10K. Even at .00008, I think 5 deposits would just about wiped out the MF, saving about $1,000 over the lease.

Wow!!! Awesome feedback. Thank you for taking the time to do so! You guys really are great. So helpful! Gives people like me a bit of confidence making the deal. They have to go get the car and the MSRP of the one they are getting is 46,125 (less port installed things) - still not $46,140 as you mentioned. I will bring all this up before signing.

It seems reasonable for that vehicle.
One more quick question. How is equity from coming out of a lease typically accounted for in the new lease OR what is the best way to have it accounted for in the new lease? Example: reducing the sale price of the car vs cap cost reduction. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

It's best to just get a check from the dealer for the equity, less any up front costs you would normally pay out of pocket (first payment and registration).

Not much of a program if none of the dealers can apply it.

They can apply it; they first have to know about it and - GASP! - research how it works. Geez, they might actually have to work to earn their money. Go figure.

I spoke to VW Finance and VW Group of America. They didn't even know what an MSD program was. They said if any such program is available it has to be applied by the dealer. I've talked to half a dozen VW dealers and all say there is no MSD program available. What gives?

We only believe there to be a program for VW; we know there is one for Audi, so it stands to reason it would carry over to the other brand.
But, we could be wrong.

I’m looking at a 2019 Atlas SE. I’m trying to see if I can shave off a bit more. Any suggestions where I can ask them to trim? Lease is 36/10. I’m in SoCal, 90503 (9.5%). Thanks!

I agree with those numbers.
Only way to improve on that deal is to negotiate a price lower than $34K
Thank you so much Michaell. We were quoted .0026 and 55% with a credit score of over 800. They also showed us a sheet with $700 lease cash. I figured that money factor was too high and had to have some added on by the dealer.

The lease cash varies based on trim level.
The MF markup is fairly common; simply tell them you won't sign a contract unless you get the base rate.
Hello! Can I please get the MF/RV/incentives for SEL Premium with 4MOTION, 36/12k, ZIP: 35758? Thank you!
.00160 and 57%
$700 lease cash
Is this MF with the top credit tier in mind? If so, do you know by how much each tier goes up? I’m not sure what their tiers are and want to be prepared for any padding they may attempt.
Also, do you happen to know the lowest mileage that VW will do on a lease? Thanks!

Looking to get an Atlas and want input from the group. Here is where I'm at.
I live in NYC Metro Area, CT to be specific.
Went to Danbury VW as my first stop.
Desired car is 19 Atlas, SE, Tech, R-Line, 4 Motion, Captains 2nd row, white on black. $43Kish MSRP
Deal I was offered:
$43,769 MSRP
$39,670 sales prices
55% residual (15K miles/year)
0.00096 money factor (great!)
$499 dealer fee
$675 bank actuation fee (sounds BS)
$494.44 monthly payment (without taxes)
I think I'm ok with $4K or 9.3% off MSRP, but was hoping to get closer to 13% off.
The $1175 in fees sound fishy to me.
$1475 dealer lease cash on this model.
$675 is the VW Credit lease acquisition fee
Dealer fee is just padding.
Considering the $1475 incentive to the dealer from VW, your discount is more like $2625.
If you are paying all of the fees upfront, along with the first payment, then the payment calculation is correct.

Looking at:
2019 Atlas S
2019 Atlas SE
In a few zips: 02109 (Boston) and 03905 (Southern Maine). Currently living in Boston, but moving to Maine in a few months.

Thank you!
Ryan
