I am going to order 2020 X3. MSRP is 52420 including destination charge. For purchase, I am getting 8500 off the MSRP. And interest rate is 2.99. Is this a good deal?

16% off MSRP for a new (not loaner / demo?) 2020 is a good discount.

Hi y'all. Looking at an x30i, 36/10 in 02144. I see there's the "road home" program of 4k, what else can be stacked on that? Is there also lease credit on top of that?

    .00128 and 58%
    $1250 lease credit

I don't know anything about the $4k, but I'll guess it's valid for purchase only.

Appears to be a finance incentive, not lease.

    Selling Price: 43,780.00
    BMW Ultimate Care: 995.00

The tax amount is incorrect; UT taxes the monthly payment.

That looks like a purchase quote, as I don't see the $925 acquisition fee

Ask the dealer for a copy of their lease worksheet.

Why start a lease with so much up front money? We recommend only the first payment and registration costs be paid at signing, and roll everything else into the lease.

Do you have the itemization of the up front money? That's a good place for the dealer to slip in some bogus fees.

Reduced price: $49,299 + taxes and fees (10% off)
    Lease rebate: $1,250
    Conquest: $750

CA taxes the monthly payment. Are you sure that the $590/mo doesn't include tax?
Is $1500 the total amount Due at Signing?

Marked up money factor adds $35/mo.
    The discount seems good.

    MF: 0.00155
    Residual: 57%
    36 months, 12k miles, 0 down

I wouldn't consider a shorter term lease in Texas, where you pay sales tax on the full selling price of the vehicle.

Marked up money factor adds $35/mo.
    The discount seems good.
Thanks. I got more information and they are basically putting all fees and even the first payment (?) in the cap.

    MSSP = $54,970
    Discount = 5,671
    Sale price = $49,299

    Minus Rebates = $2000
    Minus down payment = $1500
    Plus fees = $1,832.08 ($995 acquisition, $85 doc, $634 other, $188.08 upfront taxes)
    Plus 1st payment = $644.61

    Net Cap cost = $48,275.69

    MF = 0.00168 (still inflated), RV 58%
    Pre tax payment: $590.03
    Post tax payment: $644.61
Cash at close: $1,500 (everything else rolled into cap)

I can replicate the math now, but trying to find out what the $634 in fees are -- but doesn’t seem totally out of line from some of the other postings.

Seems odd to add the 1st payment to the cap as it artificially increases the total price (but not by much). Essentially, you'd be financing your first payment.

Otherwise, is it better in general to try to get all fees applied to the cap like they are doing? (assuming I guess your investment portfolio beats the lease rate)

Haven't tried to push back hard on the MF but they claim the 40 point inflation goes with the "great discount from MSSP". Seems like MF adds ~$1,200 to the cost over the 36 months so that would make the "great discount" more like 8% off MSSP. Which seems ok but we should be shooting for 10% before rebates, right?

    Thanks for the advice.

    Not a good deal.

$0 down, or $0 due at signing?

Else, the taxes and fees will be added to the selling price.

Which is what's happened here; those prices give me $539/mo.

The cap cost would have to be around $46,700 for that payment - you need to have the dealer give you the figures that are added to the selling price to get that number (roughly $2600)

    Net Cap cost = $48,275.69

    MF = 0.00168 (still inflated), RV 58%

You've got it .. the "great" discount isn't so great when you realize how much they are taking back with the MF hike.

Fees may be the DMV costs for registration.

Push for the base MF, and see what happens to the discount.

And, engage with other dealers to have them compete for your business.

Does the Dealer have the flexibility to apply the money factor ? We also received the .00168 rate and pushed back on that number . We have 6 years of financing with BMW Financial and should be offered their best Rate as a Preferred Customer , don’t you think ? As you have mentioned in other postings , the difference in the 2 Money Factors has a significant dollar amount impact . About $1200 I think you mentioned . Also , should the Dealer reduce the MSRP before you subtract the Rebates , Discounts , Loyalty rewards , Test drive discounts , etc ? Thank you again . Bluffton Joe

If you are doing MSDs, how can your Due at Signing be $518?

    BMWFS provides the .00128 MF
The markup is entirely up to your dealer.
If they won't drop it, find another dealer.

Yes, you should negotiate a discount from MSRP, before subtracting incentives.

Thanks a lot . Why do the Dealers think they can slip the higher money factor past a loyal BMW customer ? I know the answer . Because they can . Appreciate the info on getting a discount on MSRP before we go through crediting all the coupons and discounts the dealer and BMW Financial provided us . I’ll keep you posted on all the details if we turn in our 2017 X3 for the 2020 X3 . You would think they would give you their best offers to a repeat Customer of 6 years but , I guess that’s asking too much .

Can anyone confirm if this is a good deal 2020 X3 xDrive 30i
    MSRP $48,350
    Selling price $44,120
    Residual 58%
    MF .00128
    $615 a month with $0 down
    36/10k Zip 11378

$0 down, or $0 due at signing?

Else, the taxes and fees will be added to the selling price.

Which is what's happened here; those prices give me $539/mo.

The cap cost would have to be around $46,700 for that payment - you need to have the dealer give you the figures that are added to the selling price to get that number (roughly $2600)
Sorry forgot to add, $930 due at signing.

I got two quotes from dealerships. Monthly payments seem very high.
What is wrong, what should I ask, and what part I could improve for better pricing?

    1. $3000 down, monthly: $628

    2. $3000 down, monthly: $646

I'm also trying to 0 down and max MSD once I get a decent offer.
    Thanks for any help!!

The problem with that quote is that the numbers at the top are for purchase - in CA, the monthly payment gets taxed.

And, we'd also recommend you restructure the deal to pay only the first payment and DMV costs at signing. Roughly $1000 - have them requote you with that amount up front.

    Hi Michaell,

    Thank you for your feedback!!
As I'm newbie for leasing.. could you explain more about each suggestion?

    1. The problem with that quote is that the numbers at the top are for purchase - in CA, the monthly payment gets taxed.
-> So I should I be aware? I do live in CA and aware that monthly payment gets taxed. Does that mean I should ask for untaxed price or ask them to remove sales tax (estimate) section as tax will be applied to my monthly lease payment?

    2. And, we'd also recommend you restructure the deal to pay only the first payment and DMV costs at signing. Roughly $1000 - have them requote you with that amount up front.
-> you mean that I should ask for 0-down payment option and just pay 1st month + govnt fee (registration, tire, smog, county fee) + doc fee for DAS?

    Thank you again!!!
