Got my new ES earlier this week.Thanks for the help! Dealership did something really shady though. Has anyone run into this before? Dealership reduced MF and added prepaid maintenance without me realizing since the monthly payment came out the same as what had been negotiated. Details below.

Agreed to sale price of car but dealership wouldn't budge on MF (.00041). So I knew what my payment was going to be. I was in a hurry to get out of the dealership to get to a meeting so didn't look too closely at the contract since the monthly payment came out as I expected. Cut to this morning reviewing the contract and seeing $999 for "prepaid maintenance" in the cap cost and a rent charge of only $26 for the whole lease. They clearly reduced the MF down and added the maintenance to try and make some money and have LFS subsidize the $999. They actually adjusted the sale price of the car up $21 just to get the monthly payment to come out the same which I didn't notice until just now.

So shady, right?! Or is this common for dummies like me that are in too big a hurry to review the contract?

Looking for some advice - i did not get numbers from dealer bc it was late so we had to leave but was offered

ES350 base model - MSRP 41k

inceptions: 2800 (rose from 2600 originally)
Monthly payment 399 including tax
2 years maintenance.

With limited information does this look like a good deal? it seemed like inceptions were very high for me but that was their bottom line and right now infinity q50 3.0t luxe is leasing for 320 month with 2600 out of pocket

zip code is 33496. it's 36/10 and idk what selling price is but the inception costs were like 900 dealer fee, 800 acquisition fee, title, tag, first month of 399, and i think electronic filing. it added up to 2400 and then i think they raised it by $200 to go towards downpayment.

The manager was not very nice but called around a few lexus dealerships and none seemed to want to beat it so at this point it's either going back to them or just going with the infiniti (the special ends today for them). Just not sure if it is worth it or if they are all playing games.

Which car will you be happier driving for the next 3 years?

If you've shopped multiple Lexus dealers and this is the best deal, I'd go back and ask them for the same price with $1500 out of pocket.

It seems that this dealer is deliberately trying to confuse you.

I wouldn't guess; I'd get on the phone with the salesperson and ask questions until you are satisfied with the answers. If they keep dodging you, it's time to move on.

Why start a lease with $3K out of pocket? It's just a rental, effectively.

$530/mo, all in, is not a bad payment for a $48K car; shop more dealers to see if that can be beat.
