Can you guys please help me understand why net cap cost is higher than gross cap cost? I'm putting $1000 down and I see that they applied 1st month payment ($426) and cap reduction cost ($574). They've added the cap reduction to the gross, instead of subtracting it. Is there something I am missing?

Actually, if you add the "cap reduction" to the gross cap cost, you get $40,072.75, which is not the net cap cost.

So, I'd ask the dealer what's going on with the computer software.

I'd get clarity on that from the dealer, but that may be the issue. In VA you pay tax on the entire selling price at 4.xx%.

The only difference is that the tax applied has to be NC and not VA. Those cap taxes are totaling a little e bit under 3%. Anyways, I’m driving today over there and see the actual contract. Thanks for the info Michaell.

You are correct. If you live in NC, you do not pay VA sales tax
