total OTD cost 27,682
Ray Price Honda is the place. Very professional guys and a dealership I would definitely go back to for future purchases.
Price paid:
$27,504 + 515 (Dest) + 6% tax + MV (342) + Doc (99) + 7.50 (Tire Tax)
= $30,124 (Total OTD).
Had to call ahead and negotiate over the phone. Walked in to close the deal.
Very good buying experience. No hassels.
Internet sales contacted me via email with the price which was better than anyone else in the area. Very smooth transaction.
This is almost 2,000 below the invoice ($29,623)
There was a $1000 marketing incentive until 9/6.
Does anybody know if there ss there a new, better incentive now the Pilot?

I couldn't get myself qualify for the 2.9% APR b/c I applied for Honda Credit early August and I got a 9.79% APR. That sucked a lot. I am disappointed at Honda Credit's lousy policies. I guess those reports about Honda's policies were true. Other than that I am really satisfied with my purchase. I tried emailing every dealer throughout Massachusetts. None would budge below $28,500 and that DOES NOT include destination. If anyone from Mass. would want to buy a Honda at a great value, go to HONDA CARS OF BOSTON
Matt
I was looking at incentives after the Labor Day weekend (which brought the low apr's + marketing suppt of 1k) and for like 24 hrs there were none.
Even clearance.honda.com redirects you to a 2006 civic ad.
Now marketing support is $1500. I wonder what kind of deals are to be had
now???
My zip on carsdirect.com still shows 29k +++

Cheers
thanks...
Thanks.
Are CA taxes that high or did you pay for some options too ?
For me, the upgraded stereo (now including in-dash 6-cd changer), steering wheel controls, alloy wheels, and power seat are easily worth $2500. Not to mention the tinted windows and color-keyed moulding, which I feel go a LONG way to add to the looks of the vehicle (in all honesty, I have mistaken the PIlot LX for a CRV from a distance).

I have been comparing the LX and the EX. I dont need the alloy wheels and in-dash 6 CD. I do want the privacy/tinted windows.
I will use an after maket service and get the windows tinited. Hopefully, the tint will last many years......any thoughts on what kind of film I should ask the tinting service to use? Thanks.
don't know if this was directed specifically at me ... but I have no idea. I've never had aftermarket tinting done. Hopefully someone else can answer your question.
How much would tinting all that glass cost, though?
have you compared the 2 trims in person? I don't know if you like decent sound or anything, but the EX stereo is more than just a 6-cd changer ... it includes 2 more speakers, more power, and a subwoofer (is it 7 speakers total? i'm not even sure... i think so).
i specifically wanted the steering wheel controls because this is my wife's primary car and she is dangerous enough without having to reach for the stereo.
However, if you don't care about alloy wheels, I can certainly see the EX not looking like a good deal (I figure that's worth about $1K by itself).

Don't see much discussion on used ones here.
This was at least $1500 better than the two dealerships in Charleston. Both of those dealerships said Superior would never sell me the car I wanted at the price they quoted (never mind that that is illegal......) they kept giving me the oh-so-cheesy car salesman line of "you'll get up there and they'll tell you they don't have that one on the lot, but I'll sell you this EX-L for $x amount." Whatever - I took my email quote to one of my local dealerships on a Saturday morning and they pretty much laughed at me, said we won't sell you a car for that amount and then very patronizingly said, "WHEN and IF you ever get a pilot, we sure hope you have it serviced here." I so felt like wanting to drive it by them the following Tuesday (the first day the dealership was open - Monday had been Labor Day) and just like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, say, "Do you work on commission? Mistake. Big Mistake!"
AND the folks at Superior drove the hour and a half to my house - no delivery charge - and we signed and they left. They were nice enough to fax me all of the paperwork before they came down - for the first time ever buying a car there were NO MISTAKES on the paperwork. Well, okay - one mistake - they had the color listed incorrectly on one sheet. But no number mistakes. WOW.
I think I got a good price - and certainly got great service via e-mail and the telephone.
I'm originally from Goose Creek. I live in Alabama now. The Charleston dealerships sound exactly like my local Montgomery dealership (and the ones in Birmingham for that matter).
Is that Honda dealership still down from North Woods Mall? Stokes I believe?
- Leather is high quality, with rich, wide (and straight) stiching.
- 10" DVD is sweet
- Standard fog lamps and composite HD's are cool
- Front grill styling is just like Ridgeline ( adds some much needed style)
- Clear rear light covers are hot and current
- 24mpg highway
Just sharing and need some help on pricing this out (MSRP was $33K)
Never owned a Honda, drove and previewed (Nissan Path, 4runner, Freestyle, Explorer) I think this is the car for my family(wife)

BTW, I saw invoice pricing on the "confidential" sheet from the dealer. I jotted down the following:
2WD EXL $28,652
2WD EXL RES $30,089
4WD EXL $29,730
4WD EXL RES $31,168
Prices don't include $550 destination
Where did you buy?
Could you include the dealership name ,city and state.
Would they make the same offer(invoice + 600) on other model EX and EXL 4wd?
Thanks
It was the only 06 they had on the lot for now, so I didn't even talk about other models. I did start to question if they'd take the same price for another color not in stock and they weren't real interested (I guess it costs $$ for them to transport cars from other dealerships). I didn't come in with the intent to buy, thinking they wouldn't even be interested in talking from an invoice price given this is the first weekend the 06's are even on the lot, but I felt like this was a pretty fair price this early in the season so I offered $200 over invoice and we ended at $600 after about 30 minutes of negotiationt.
Originally, I thought it's pretty good deal.
but, after I read some postings in this forum, I'm not sure which is better decision between 2005 and 2006.
two questions.
1. How much can I buy 2006 Pilot EX-L?
2. Considering my offerred price of 28619, which is better decision? 2005 or 2006?
please give me your opinions. thanks a lot.
I've decided I just don't see the advantage to getting an '06 at this point. The VCM is only available on the 2wd models, which we don't want. I don't really care about the minor styling changes. So paying even as low as $2500 more doesn't seem worth it to me.

Is it really true, 3400$ difference between 05 and 06??
Such a big difference? I was really shocked.
then, we have to buy 06 around MSRP price? Isn't it too much?
please let me know little bit more details. thanks.
