Am I right that as of today (Mid Oct 2015), we all have to pay the MSRP for 2016 Odyssey? Would there be a sale next month or so? Is it worth it to wait?

I've been talking with a few dealerships in the DC/MD/VA region over the past week or so - best I could get so far is $35k for a base EX-L. There aren't many deals/incentives right now, at least to my knowledge. Everyone keeps saying they don't know if incentives are even happening for the Odyssey, or even if they do, may be around Christmas. I think both of those statements are categorically false - although when things will change, I'm not sure.

New kids on the block usually pay the most. That said, I just priced out a 2016 Odyssey EX-L w/Navigation using a Dallas zip code and TMV is coming in at $36,949.

Invoice is $35,696 and MSRP is $38,805, so that tells me if you shop around, you should be able to get a deal.

All my numbers include the destination of $880.

I am in CA 94538. Just got this quote. It is high, isn't it?

    Vehicle Price: $38,805.00
    AutoNation Savings: - $3,217.00
    AutoNation Price: $35,588.00

    Sales Tax (estimate): + $3,569.71
    Weight Fee: + $80.00
    Tag/Registration Fees (estimate): + $302.00
    Flat Add/County Fee: + $20.00
    Electronic Filing: + $29.00

    Documentation Fee: + $80.00
    Tire/Battery/MVWEA: + $8.75

    Posting #11:
Bought a 2016 Odyssey EX-L on 9/19/2015 in Northern VA:

    Trim: EX-L
    Vehicle Price: $31,101
    Destination: $880
    Doc Fees: $637
    Taxes: $1,323
    Tags: $59

    Total OTD: $34k

With wheel locks, cargo tray, dealer lifetime powertrain warranty, 3 years of oil changes.

    Then posting #15:
    Trim: EX-L + NAVI
Vehicle Price: $33,000 (including all fees - I don't remember what is what as I was negitiating for OTD price)
Taxes: $? To be paid when I title it in 30 days, around 9% I think

    Total OTD: $33k

With wheel locks and dealer extended powertrain warranty whatever it is

Well, VA tax is lower so you have to keep that in mind, CA tax is what, 10%? It looks like the posts above don't include tax in their values so it's really OTD $35k. Either way, it looks like your quote of $39.7k for an EX-L is really high though.

FYI, my $35k included MD taxes but it's still more than I want to pay - I bought a 2014 EX-L for $33.1k OTD incl. taxes so the delta is way too much for me to swallow right now. I'd rather wait for incentives.

I just leased a 2016 exl for 32k. This is our 4th honda with the same dealer. I went right to the general manager and made the deal over the phone. Went in the next day and picked up the van. Kicker is we were coming off our 2013 exl lease in December. I told him I wanted to trade it in earlier but would only do it if I had equity. I owed $21,800 he gave me $24,500. So I came home with a new car and a check from them for $2100 (had to make first months payment and doc fee of $250) Just shop dealers and find the one that wants to move units. The deals are out there! I am in ohio.

Ok, you're price listed above that you were quoted is for a 2016 Odyssey EXL-Navi. The price you were quoted is about $42.00 OVER invoice, which is a pretty good deal, although better could be had... There is $500.00 dealer cash on the '16's.

Your posting, #11, is not an apples to apples comparison; that quote is for an EXL no Navi. The price quoted is $1741.00 UNDER invoice (with the $500.00 dealer cash that's still $1241.00 under invoice). That is a really good deal, considering there is little incentive for a dealer to sell a car at net cost, unless competition is super tight in the area. Also, the more you sell, the more you earn... Maybe they're trying to earn 2017's which should be a new body-style.

Posting #15 that you copied seems a little suspect. I'd want to verify that price.

I am in Dallas area and dealer is Rockwall Honda easily agreed to sell a EX-L RES with various options (wheel locks, door edge guard, tinting, wheel lock, cargo liner and a couple of others that I cannot recall since it was over the phone) for $36,000 + TTL I am guessing they will try to throw in the destination fees when I go there but felt like it can be even lower if you shop around.

The drawback of Dallas are market is that most of the dealers have pre-installed options that add up to $1800 - $3000 MSRP although it can be discounted by at least 50%

Is anyone aware of Dallas area dealers that don't have too many pre-installed accessories/options ?

Invoice with destination is $33,722 and TMV is coming in at $34,677 so that sounds like a nice savings over the average price paid, especially for a new model year. Seems like the CR-V usually offers the biggest discounts (often ~$1,500 off invoice) but you beat that. I don't really follow the Accord to see how those deals are running vs. invoice.

    Congrats!

Just and FYI - Rec'd and email quote of $32,664 (31,784 + 880Dest) on Honda Odyssey EX-L at Community Honda in Orland Park, IL. They also offered to beat other local dealers if I brought in the price. I'm early in the process but though it could be helpful to others in the area. I started looking at the new Pilot but I'm not willing to pay near 37K for that vehicle as I'm on the road a lot and mileage is very important on the bigger vehicles. I had a '12 odyssey and averaged 29mpg on the highway though around town got about 22. I moved into a 2015 CR-V but I'm feeling like I need more space for hauling work samples and even the occasional passengers. Just starting the search process and I plan to look also at the Sienna XLE or maybe even XLE AWD for the first time as I've owned 6 odysseys over the last 12 years and have a bit of an affinity for Honda and the service life I've gotten from each.

Hamsalad - I am in Schaumburg. I priced a EX-L with RES at Community Honda, Orland Park and they gave a quote that was 2K more than 'Honda on Grand' in Elmhurst, IL. For EX-L w RES, Honda-on-Grand quoted $33200 (incl dest charges). Try to price EX-L at them and let me know.
Till now they seem to be the lowest in the Chicago suburbs, IMO. Let me know otherwise.

I've gotten this question from a few people so I'll just post publicly.

I got my $34,100 from Herson's Honda of Rockville, MD. I also had $34,000 from Fairfax Honda in VA but it was much further. Sport Silver Spring was at $34,500 and indicated they'd move more if I came in but I stopped talking to them once I got the price I wanted at Herson's.

    Sales reps were:

Herson's = Moshen Heydari (pronounced motion)
    Fairfax = Charles McKinnis
    Sport = Mike Martinez

    Good luck!

The TMV links haven't been updated for the 2016 SE yet. Not sure why, probably still gathering info. We're showing dealer inventory but the Build Your Own link hasn't been populated with the SE trim yet. You can get to this screen (and change your zip code) by using the Make|Model|Year dropdown menu up top.

Naturally as soon as I type that last post, I'm able to build an SE here.

We're showing invoice of $31,546 and TMV is coming in at $32,271. Those numbers include the $880 destination and it looks like there's a $150 ad fee in Houston that probably isn't nationwide.

I was initially in a market for 2015 EX-L but the 2015 EX-L inventory has pretty much dried up and I wish I was in the market back in September. Can someone post their price on any 2016 Odyssey in Dallas area. So far I got a price of $35,500 OTD for 2016 EX-L from Rockwall Honda just over the phone that includes all their std add-ons, 2 yr free oil change and a loaner (which will be rarely be required).

I am targeting $34,300 OTD in Dallas area but has been difficult so far.

In Southern CA -- went through Costco's program which offers $500 above invoice and then dealer gives $500 cash back. Invoice is $34050 -- doesn't include taxes/fees of course. Lease offer is $2000 down and $379/mo + $30/mo in taxes and 61% residual. I haven't seen others post from southern CA, but others seem to be getting better deals. How do you get them to go lower than invoice?

Hi hondaadnoh1, I just got the quote via Edmunds Price Promise.. I selected multiple dealers, some quotes were way high, others were above invoice, only 2 were below invoice around $33,500.. I still haven't step inside the dealership to verify the final price, but since its edmunds price promise have great confidence on the quote..

Check the fine print on our Price Promise. It’s up to an individual dealership to decide whether to include any fees (such as the destination charge) or any available incentives in the price shown on the certificate, so please read the offer details carefully.

Destination is a big chunk of change and can be a gotcha.

Let us know how it goes!

Folks it has been a grueling past few weeks trying to get a decent market price in the Dallas metro area. I had the lowest price quote from Huggins Honda at $35045 OTD that included some accessories like
    Honda protection package,
    Window tinting
    Pin stripe
    Paint & Fabric Protection

Thanks to everyone to providing the price points that helped me hold out for a good price considering that I was not looking to buy a new van without the crash we were involved a few weeks ago that retired our reliable 2008 Ody EXL.

But I got an email blast from McDavid Honda on their Black Friday sale and their advertised price was $31690 +TTL.

    Final Breakdown:
    Trim: EXL
    Vehicle Price: $31,691
Add ons: Tinting, pin stripe and protection package included in the price above
Doc / License etc Fees: $434
    Taxes: $1980.69

Congrats on your new EX-L, that seems to be a very good price. Can you please confirm if the price you received is for 2016 and not for 2015 from McDavid Honda Frisco.
    Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it is for 2016 EXL since all they have in 2015 are Touring and Touring Elites. Rusty Wallis was willing sell the 2016 Touring Elite for $39000 OTD but I still felt it was more money to spend on a few bells and whistles that I do not have much need for.

As I mentioned, it was a black friday deal that was emailed out to quite a few folks on their customer database and you may still be able to get that price tomorrow 11/30

After much searching I purchased at Planet Honda in Matteson, IL.  I purchased a 2016 Touring Elite for $39, 337 + TTL.  Overall felt like it was a great deal and was very happy working with the team there.
