    Hi,
I've order a WRX Limited few month ago (no HK / GPS Pack) and I'm suppose to get it in 2 weeks.

The sales guy told me he will give me the final monthly cost for the lease the month I pick it up when the numbers will be available. So my question is:

What are the number this month? :)

    36 month / 12K
    (Michigan if it matter)

FYI, sticker price is 31,271 but my price after negociation is: 29,900.
If you can let me know what my monthly should be?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, Looks like numbers are out?

Any update on mine please ? :)

    Thanks in advance!

I am considering to lease a 2016 Subaru STI base no options and no accessories.

    MSRP: $35,490
    OTD: $32,421
    Lease Option: 36 months
    Mileage: 10,000 miles/year
    Down Payment: $0
    Monthly Payment: $367/month plus tax
    Location: CA, 94116

Is this a good deal? Also the person did not give me the Monthly Factor or Residual.

    Thanks

    .00175 MF and 69% residual.

Not sure that an OTD number is relevant, unless it is lease specific, and not a purchase total.

If your OTD number were the CAP cost, the payment should be $320/mo.+tax.

I just wanted to confirmation that my understanding of what CAP cost means. Is this the same thing as the OTD price? Meaning the dealership will be selling me the car at the lowest price of $32,421 with $0 down.

The CAP cost is the selling price + any additions not paid upfront (acquisition fee, etc), minus any down payments (aka CAP cost reduction).

The problem with OTD price, is it may not be relevant to the lease price. If it includes sales tax, for instance, that wouldn't be relevant to the lease, as sales tax is collected on the monthly payment in California.

You have to know what is in that OTD price, or better yet, the CAP cost on the lease and a breakdown of how they got to that number.

Wondering if I could get a money factor and residual for the following 2016 WRX w/ manual transmission and 15k miles/year 36 month (I assume this is the best deal).
    Base model
    Premium model
    Base STi

Also, do options, other then trim level change these values? If so, the base model comes with popular pkg #1. Need to buy before end of month so I won't be waiting til next month's rates.

Thank you so much for your guys help! You guys are a real life saver.

Does anyone know how Subaru handles port installed accessories on the lease? Do they not count towards the MSRP when calculating the residual? And if they're not residualized do you pay the full amount for them over the term of the lease?

The car I'm looking at has around $500 in port installed accessories. Does this drop my MSRP by $500 in calculations and then increases the monthly payment by around $14 (500ish/36) on a 36 month lease?

I believe that is correct .. if it's not part of the Monroney sticker, it's not subject to the residual, and you'll pay full price on them over the life of the lease.

    WRX Premium 6MT 36/15 - 62% and .00160. Add 2% for 12K

Subaru rarely has promotional rates on the WRX, so what you see is pretty typical.

So my dealership came back with .00240 for the money factor and 30,267 for a 2016 WRX premium. I am currently about 2,460 upside down on my trade and with 3k down they are saying I would be at $475 + tax for a 36 month lease. That seem right?

.00240 is the base MF for a 24 month lease on the WRX Premium; .00170 for 36 months, with a max markup of .00050 allowed.

    So, something seems off.

We also need both the MSRP and the net cap cost in order to figure the payment.

Yes, lower credit scores do translate to a higher MF.

Ok sounds good. I am assuming that is why my MF is higher. Also, I don't have the net cap cost at the moment. I am assuming I will need to ask them for that information tomorrow when the dealership opens.

So if I am following correctly.. The net cap cost is basically just the total amount that I would be financing?

Net cap cost = negotiated price + taxes, fees - down payment (which we don't recommend)

Ok, so the net cap cost would be right around 32,329 I believe. And I was putting money down since I am upside down on my trade so I was trying to true that up so I wasn't adding negative equity to my new lease. Should I not do that?

We recommend not putting money down on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Are you in a position to wait a while until you are even on your trade?

I could wait a little longer but the other issue is that I am also about 10k over on my miles as well. I typically don't have any issues going over on miles in previous leases but in the last year I had some things come up that required me to put way more miles on my car than I normally would. Also, from looking at the trade in value on KBB, the dealership is already increasing the amount they are willing to give me on trade about 1,500 or more just to get the payment a little closer to what I want.

Makes sense .. I'm in a lease currently and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be over on miles as well (currently just under 40K on a 45K lease and I've got about 7 months left).

So that is why I was going to try and get the best deal possible even though I am going to get a little screwed due to my credit status and the value of my trade but if I could get it to a decent level I could get past this and continue to work on my credit score over the next few years and get that better deal down the road. Ideally I would like to get down to $425 a month but the sales guy said that with 3k down and my trade there is NO way to get below $475 + taxes and I just wanted to see if that really was the best they could do or if I was getting taken..

Thanks Michaell. I have contacted a couple other dealerships and the selling price of the car is pretty consistent from dealership to dealership so far. Mostly I am just trying to identify if the monthly payment is consistent with the lease terms that I have been given and I am assuming that more than likely this is the best deal I might be able to get currently given my current credit situation. The other thing I am worried about is waiting until my lease is up and having to pay for the mileage that I am over up front. It seems that if I do the deal now I would take a little hit on the trade in value but I would walk away with a new car and a new lease where my mileage would of course start over.
