My brother and I just leased Q5's. We are paying $501 / month with 0 out of pocket at signing. 12k/ year miles for 36 months. Audi care is included. MSRP was around 51-52k on the Premium Plus 2.0T. I believe our price was around 43k all said and done. Options include MMI, Interior Sport Pkg, and 19" wheels. Thank you for the MF and Residual numbers to base the deal off of!!

I culled these numbers from the above comments, but need the RV for 7500 miles.
(I assume the August MF .00030 is the same for all mileages)
56% =36/10k miles
55%=36/12k
53% =36/15k

Can't help you with what trim or options to get .. I've never shopped in that price range.

And, AudiCare bumps the 36/12 residual to 56%, and the pre-tax payment drops to $399/mo.

I don't think so. It's one of the few whites left in norcal, but that shouldn't be it.

I did negotiate the price from MSRP $53K to $45K. That could be the reason, that he wants to make up the difference?

Should I go with financing at 2.9% given this scenario?

Yeah, that's a huge discount from sticker. Can't say I'm surprised they are holding firm on the MF. Usually you get one or the other (big discount or base MF) but rarely both.

How long do you plan to keep the car?

My calculations are less than $1 difference from the dealer offer.

$536/mo with the base MF of .00030 ... or, put another way, about $800 ... if you can get the base MF and have the dealer only increase the sale price say, $300-500, you'd be ahead.

Yes, dealers often provide a big discount from sticker but mark up the MF. Try multiple dealers - only takes one to give you both a big discount and the base MF.

I got the dealership here in Austin, TX to come down off the MSRP of $51,990 to $46,390 after Discount and Manufacture rebates. However, I am still uncertain about what I can reasonably expect on MF and % Residual.

On a comment from a few days ago I saw the MF and Residual in Texas are:
.00030 and 59% (60% with AudiCare)

Would LEWP (Lease Excessive Wear Protection) add another 1% to the RV?

I want to make sure I have all of my facts straight before I go in to negotiate the final numbers of the lease agreement.

I would really appreciate your guidance on this.

@nicknak On VW this month, purchasing LEWP qualifies you for sales tax credits (in TX).
You might check to see if that is the case with Audi, as well.

No predictions on what may happen next month.

3.0T is a higher trim level, thus commanding a higher MF and lower residuals than the 2.0T

It is the case with Audi, as well. The dealer indicated, that by purchasing LEWP for $807 we were getting approximately $2,000 in sales tax credits. However, I don't really understand how it applies to the sales tax unless the manufacture is simply offering it as discount of the MSPR.

Could you please explain how or why LEWP qualifies a lease for Sales Tax Credits (in TX)?

Those numbers are valid for the 2.0T; for the 3.0T, the 36/10 numbers are .00143 and 58% (59% with AudiCare).

Be advised that in TX, sales tax is applied to the entire selling price of the vehicle.

LEWP would not affect the residual.
Michael - Thanks for getting back to me. Do you think the MF is likely to go down over the next month as Audi attempts to clear out the remaining 2016 Inventory? I don't fully understand why it is so different form the 2.0T to the 3.0T.
No predictions on what may happen next month.

3.0T is a higher trim level, thus commanding a higher MF and lower residuals than the 2.0T

.00030 and 56% (Prem) or 53% (Prem Plus) for 36/15.

Extra miles are charged at .15/mile, or $1350 total, deducted from the 15K residual.

AFS gets sales tax credits, because they are basically trading leases back in at lease end. It's a Texas thing, and all banks get them. I'm not sure of the ins and outs of the credits, but guessing at some point, the bank can't keep the credits or maxes out on them, and has to offer them as incentives to new lessees.

Audi/VW has chosen to use the LEWP program as a qualifier. A couple of reasons? The LEWP is a profit center for the dealer, which makes them happy. LEWP helps AFS offset the costs of re-selling the cars at lease end. It's a win/win for AFS/dealers, and the customer still saves money on the front end (tax credits) and on the back end (no wear/tear charges at lease end).

I've not seen it tied together, before, but it seems like a good idea, from a business perspective.
