Hey All! Im currently in the market for a 2017 Honda Accord Sport CVT w/o sensing in the Los Angeles area.
Does anyone have a OTD price that I can realistically shoot for? Also if anyone has suggestions on which dealership I should go to that would be great!

Depending on remaining inventory, my opinion would be around $23k including TTL. There are numerous Honda dealers in SoCal - blast an email to all the internet departments requesting their best quote - pick the best 3 or 4 - contact by phone and start some serious negotiating.

Do you mean 23k OTD or 23k sales price plus TTL?

@ray1928............... Re-read what @gmanusmc posted he answered your question . I would suggest you read prior posts and educate yourself on Accord pricing / recommended dealerships in CA. There are several CA buyers who posted.

Scan your targeted dealerships web sites to see what dealers have your model and deal only with those dealerships. Dealers that don't have your model don't waste your time.

Check out Norm Reeves stock.. 4 dealerships and still a very large Accord Sport selection..... Good luck

My lowest quote atm is $21,135 sale price. Which is approximately 2.9k off invoice price. Should I attempt to negotiate a lower price or just make the purchase?

Exl 4cyl ...try mcdavid in IRVING.....PUSH FOR 8K off.....tell him your friend Robert directed you to this dealership and got it for 23500 OTD.

Eat before you go to the dealership. They will tell you they can’t do it, tell them you will be back after you check the other dealership.

I promise you they will give in.

A good price like your suggesting might not be obtainable in the 1st week of a new month. A much better game plan on sept 5th would be and you won't miss dinner or waste 3 hrs time in any dealership is

Call and speak directly to the Internet manager . Let them know you will purchase tonight for X- price / hold with a credit card deposit . Tell dealer you are offering this price to them 1st then to other area dealerships. If your price is not met you will then make your best deal at the end of the month with emailed dealerships.

Leave contact info and enjoy dinner

Anyone got this OTD price recently? I was wondering if I should go to this dealer and ask for 23500 OTD now or maybe later this month... :worried:

Trading back your 2016 leased Altima 5 months early with $1200 left on lease would come out of your buying price with the 2017 Accord model .

Is it worth it to still flip your leased vehicle for a 2017 Accord Sport -VS- waiting 5 more months then leasing a 2018 Sport which will have better Tech features and upgrades is something to consider??. You said you like the looks better on a 17 model better.

If I'm buying/ leasing I want the 2018 sport model w/ upgraded motor forfeiting the lower monthly payment of a 17 lease.

In May, 2018 Accord sports will be discounted nicely in MA, MD , VA, CA....... Ok discounts in NJ and PA but not like those area's mentioned

Consider @Michaell's and @gmanusmc take on the lease side of the deal before you decide .

Keep on tracking your 17 sport inventory thru the 6 states your Targeting . If inventory gets critical you may have to buy sooner............................Good luck

I just purchased a 2017 Accord Sport Sedan CVT for 23400 OTD. Invoice 24,039 and my sale price was $21,027. Purchased in the LA area so sales tax of 9.5%

Anybody has some numbers on Accord 2017 Sport SE on OTD pricing in New Jersey. I have the quotes from Edmunds and TrueCar but they don't include the OTD price.
And adding them, Destination Fee $875 + Dealer Processing Fee $429 + Tax (at 7%) comes to almost $25000 OTD.

Also, I am having trouble getting the Dealers to send OTD with the breakdown via email. They keep insisting that I come in. Any tips ?

Hey godgers do what @brian125 preaches about buying. Email several dealers asking for there best price pre OTD numbers 1st, OR if you have a target price let them know what price gets deal done . Once you have a good deal ask that dealer to email you the otd numbers and you will leave a CC deposit . What price is this dealer giving you.?

How many 17 sport models does this dealer have I'm also in the market to lease one in DEC

Hi @john4545 I have two quotes. $22,731 and $22,815. But as I said before, the dealers are not ready to quote the OTD over email and keep on insisting on coming in (where they try to pressure you to buy it...)

I am not sure how many they have in the inventory. But I can tell you which dealers I am talking about.

John .....The Honda dealers in PA are terrible. My one email price request came back at $22,900 which included the $875 destination. I'm sure I could knock off another 1k when I'm ready to buy in Dec. I'm considering driving to MD to buy. The deals there are 3k plus below invoice , But only if I could find a red sport in Dec. I wouldn't worry about OTD pricing as much as finding the lowest price 1st. Dealerships cant mess around with taxes and dmv numbers .You already know taxes @7%,dealers doc fee, Tags a few hundred.

Just something to consider - inventory on 2017 Accords is shrinking every day, and the longer you wait, the tougher it will be to get the trim / color you want.

Not sure what will be on the lots come December...

@Michael tks . If I trade back my Nissan to the Honda dealership in Dec . with 5 payments left of $1100 dollars is there any advice you could give me what not to do so I make the best possible deal. Will Honda take my trade?

I recommend the first step you take is to get the Nissan appraised by CarMax or a Nissan dealer to see if it's worth more or less than what your payoff balance would be. That way you'll have an idea of what to expect.

Exactly - the more information you have, the better equipped you'll be to negotiate.

Understand that your Nissan has a payoff value and a trade value - don't think of it as $1100 of remaining payments.

Do not fall for that trick to come in. They are just going to waste your time. Never walk into a dealership unless you are about to test drive a car or sign the paperwork.

To add to what @john4545 and @brian125 have said, your main focus should be negotiating the sale price of the car (including the destination fee). You can also request that dealers list their doc fees. Registration fees should be the same (for the most part) across all dealers in the same state. If dealers you contact are reluctant to provide you with what their doc fees are or any other relevant info, then move on to the next dealership.

You mentioned you had contacted dealers in NJ and have not had much luck with OTD pricing. You can expand your search to out of state dealers in MD or MA (my state). BTW, sales tax in MA is 6.25%. Most dealer doc fees hover around $300.

    Good luck.

@Michaell, @gmanusmc. Will all Nissan dealers give me the same car value price? Should I go back to the original dealership where it was purchased? So is it possible the car value could be higher than the original buy out price?

Each dealer will value the trade in differently, though the range of prices should be pretty close.

If this is a lease, it's highly unlikely that the trade in value is higher than the buy out price.

Its a lease . If I trade it back to Honda and not Nissan I should target as close as possible to what the buy out is minus the $1100 owed for early return? I understand a trade in will be lower, unless Nissan tells me its worth less than the buy out . Just trying to understand the whole process. Tks

The buyout price is usually the residual value plus the remaining payments; but, check with the bank that you make your lease payments to to be sure.

John I don't mean to discourage you . The deal you will try to make is time consuming and could be frustrating if dealers play games.............. Beware .

Take your time be informed. You might be best suited to buy this vehicle in your state cause of the early trade in lease . To save $500 or so might not be worth it!! What I would suggest if you decide to buy in MD or another state besides yours. Gather some good online pricing then .......... drive first , to 2 or 3 dealers with your model and lowest pricing. Do exactly how I told u with phone conversations for a possible sale and you'll be fine. Let dealers appraise your vehicle and do a credit check while your there. . If u decide to lease vehicle the following month hold dealers to there trade in price.

Secure deal with a credit card over the phone and have dealer email you all the sales numbers. If you come into NJ, Auto-sport Honda if they have your model may pay dividends........................ Good luck

At the end of this month I would start and open up dialog with MD dealers. Call Criswell and Pohanka 1st. both are excellent w/ Out of state sales.

Hi guys, Looking to purchase a 2017 Accord Sport in NJ or surrounding areas (whoever gives us the best price). At this point in the year, what should we aim for discount wise in comparison to the deals in our tristate area? Trying to aim for a payment under $350 (closer to 300 and under would be better), $0-1500 downpayment (preferably nothing down). Totally open to whatever colors or options we could grab.

Looking to buy within the next two weeks.

    Thank you!

I would target $2500 below invoice on your model in NJ. I think that's very do-able if you buy at the very end of this month . Maybe you could do better but only you could answer that question thru your negotiation process ? Monthly payment depends on Finance rate, Term, and Car price. At the End of the month Oct, 30th Email 20 dealerships in NY / NJ asking for XXX price for the sale that day .

Your emails / phone calls to the Internet depts. / manager should state...... I buy today for x price holding with a credit card deposit. Once you secure at good deal only then go to dealership to wrap up paperwork and take vehicle.

I was just browsing Garden State's inventory. You guys mention the doc fees being less in NY, should I aim out there as well? What about other surrounding states? We have no problem venturing out. Our BMW was bought in Boston and shipped to us, so we're absolutely fine with out of state deals.

Honda cars of Boston would be on the top of my short list among best dealers in that area. Boch, Common wealth, Herb Chambers , Weymouth, Rockingham Honda are all worth a call.

Honda cars has some of the lowest doc fees, at around $300. They may not always have the lowest prices but at least they do not play games. I would avoid Prime Honda at all cost. Boch Honda is a volume dealer so they might have some very aggressive pricing.
